I highly recommend this hotel, it's clean, comfortable and not expensive. Staff members are nice, as so as the manager. 100% Recommended!

Always a luxury home for relaxation…read more Guests enjoy on-site dining at Breva Bar & Grill for American cuisine and cocktails, plus options like Masa & Agave tequilaria speakeasy. The hotel features the renowned Anda Spa for massages, facials, and wellness treatments, a 24-hour fitness center with yoga classes, steam room, and convenient access to the downtown Skyway system for easy exploration of nearby attractions such as Orchestra Hall, Nicollet Mall, and U.S. Bank Stadium. It's pet-friendly, offers valet parking, meeting spaces, and high-end service in the heart of downtown.

When checking in, they asked us if we were here for a special occasion and upon learning that it was a girls night getaway, they provided us with BOGO app and drink coupons to the 2 restaurants onsite. They also suggested a few dishes to try. When we returned to our room after a show at the Orpheum, we found a bottle of bubbly with a handwritten note on the table!! It was such a kind gesture and so so thoughtful. I've never experienced something like that before - usually it's a birthday or anniversary where this type of stuff happens so we were thrilled the front desk would provide such a gift for friends simply getting together. We had dinner at Breva Bar (on the first floor) and loved the food. One tip - if the Minnesota Orchestra is having an event (close proximity), there will likely be a rush of diners beforehand and service can be tough/limited due to restaurant capacity. We experienced it first hand and had to wait a long time for food. But once the orchestra crowd cleared, it was prompt service. Another tip - do not skip the burrata & apple starter. It was so good we ordered it TWICE. Our room was on a high floor with views of downtown. The real star is though is the bed. I've stayed at Marriott properties before (Ivy is part of the Marriott family) but none of them compares to a Hotel Ivy bed. There's a reason this is a luxury hotel because this is a luxurious bed. Fun fact: Marriott actually sells these beds online and the prices are crazy expensive. There was complimentary coffee in the lobby the next morning. We enjoyed a simple but filling breakfast at the hotel bar before concluding our short 1 night but very memorable stay. So glad I got to experience Hotel Ivy, the beautiful ambiance, and stellar service. If I feel like spoiling myself again for another girls get together, I'm coming back here.

Very clean up to date comfortable hotel…read more Very clean but oddly laid out There's no drawers for clothes, just small desk drawers and a closet to hang stuff There are no towel holders near the shower, just a hook that is not really in reach Very nice blackout curtain, you can almost get total blackout except light bleed from top and bottom of curtain which is not much, and light from TV (red) and light that randomly flashes from fire alarm, and alarm clock if you don't face it down there is a constant fan (2) that blow, it does dry things fast if you wash something, like 2 hours passive, but it does hum the entire time there is a hair dryer but it's short so you can't really hold on to clothes to dry it with it cuz of how outlets are laid out i wish there was a seat in entranceway, it's kinda wasted space the doors are loud, you will feel them shake if it's the ones near you, they kinda slam for the most part it was very quiet in the hotel, you will hear ppl if they are loud in the hallways but i barely heard anyone the entire time staff are very friendly soap and shampoo etc are citrus, it smelled nice i like that you can get a foam pillow if you want through the app or just asking bed was nice and comfy, slept well over all i had them empty the mini fridge since those cost money they give you free water, you can get more free in the fitness center and you can get ear buds there for free

My wife and I stayed at this downtown Minneapolis hotel for our 3 night visit to the Twin Cities in…read moreMarch of 2026. We got to experience the huge swing in weather during our stay, using this hotel as a base to take public transport, rideshare, and private pickup/dropoff. The hotel ended up being a good choice. The Elliot is one of the more affordable choices currently in the Edit Collection of Hotels (only three in the Minneapolis area), curated by Chase Travel. We booked (and prepaid) our stay via the Chase Portal, instead of our typical MO of using the Marriott site directly. Positives (of doing it this way) were that we got a $100 stay credit, vouchers for full-service breakfast for two at the property restaurant (Tavola), late checkout, room upgrade, and loyalty credit. Negatives were that the rate is a bit higher than if directly booked (though the bi-annual $250 credit from the credit card more than made up for it), my loyalty status would have given me free breakfast, room upgrade, and late checkout anyway, and since loyalty points are based on how much you spend directly with the hotel, didn't get that many points for our stay (though you do get nights-stayed credit, in case that is important). The hotel opened in 2018 in its current association as a Marriott Autograph Collection member. Our room was ready for us for a 2 pm check-in, on the 4th floor (was told it was an 'upgrade') of an eight floor, 168 room hotel. The room was about 300 square feet in size and tastefully decorated, and had a couch (though not pull-out). The bed was very soft, towels were thick, and one bath robe was provided without asking. It had a modern, very large shower stall with barely-adequate shower pressure, large sink area, and a modern toilet that didn't always recharge after every flush without some manual jiggling. Sachajuan were the soap/shampoo brand used. A small fridge contained a mini-bar, but no microwave or place to sit down and eat. Two bottles of water were provided in the room at check-in. There was a modern flat screen tv with plenty of basic cable channels, and Google Chrome cast enabled, allowing mirroring from one's phone. Temperature controls worked well. Other property observations: - the hotel does seem well integrated with the Marriott ecosystem. I got timely texts, ability to see a lot of info on my Marriott app, - room service is provided via the downstairs restaurant. Morning coffee is available at the lobby. - the dedicated fitness center on the 3rd floor is large, with modern equipment. It is fully stocked, with clean towels (some stored in a small mini-fridge), disinfecting wipes, and bottled water. - there is a small shop, where the resort credit can be used. It carried unusual items (not typical hotel sundry items like soda or chips), and we ended up buying some sea salt flakes ($16) and some genuine swedish fish candy ($10) to completely use the resort credits. There were some problems getting the charges properly handled, but Feranda at the front desk patiently helped me resolve it during checkout. - one can decline housekeeping day by day, getting 1,000 points instead. We took advantage two times. - Normal checkout is 11am, extendable to 4 pm if qualifying. - During happy hour times (3 - 5), samples of two different draft (one beer, one root beer) are offered. - parking is via valet, $54 overnight. There is no mandatory resort fee. The hotel is located about 4 city blocks from the nearest light rail station, so getting to the airport is doable via train. And there is a nice curb manned by the valet where dropoffs/pickups can be safely done.

But I'm glad I got to stay one night to experience it.

Not worth the hype…read more Was genuinely excited to stay at the W Minneapolis from Dec 19-22, but unfortunately the experience ended up feeling underwhelming, and stressful. Cost. The W is expensive, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Nightly rates hover around $200+ per night. Valet parking is $60 per night; objectively overpriced, though undeniably convenient. Additional fees: Pet owners, expect a $100 flat fee plus $25 per night, which adds up quickly. Where things start to fall apart is navigation and access to information. The hotel is surprisingly confusing to get around, and there's virtually no wayfinding or signage. In fully embracing the digital-only approach, the hotel has eliminated all traditional paper materials. No map. No room book. No quick-reference guide. Everything lives digitally. That sounds modern--until you need basic information like restaurant hours. eg). I attempted to visit the bar on floor 27 at around 330 pm. (It doesn't open until 5pm) However none of this is clearly displayed, and SUPER difficult to find without messaging the front desk and the Marriott app was hit-or-miss at best during my stay. The digital key never worked once, and even the room phone didn't function. That wouldn't be a huge issue if the app worked reliably--but it didn't. I did message the front desk through the app to request a USB-C charging cable and was told none were available. In 2025. At a W. That felt less like sleek minimalism and more like missed fundamentals. Food/ Room Service: Absolutely excellent. Manny's Steakhouse and the Prohibition Bar are both fantastic and independently operated in partnership with the hotel. See Manny's Steakhouse for a full review, it alone was a highlight of the stay. The room itself was very spacious, but it's important to remember this is an old building, and it shows. I struggled to maintain a consistent water temperature the entire stay. The room layout was also frustrating: the TV is mounted far from the bed, on a wall shared with neighboring rooms. Turning up the volume even slightly resulted in a noise complaint from next door. Yep, that actually happened. Overall, the W Minneapolis has style, history, and good food...but the experience feels more focused on image than guest usability. With better wayfinding, reliable tech, and basic in-room information, this could be a great stay. As it stands, it didn't live up to the hype

The receptionist was kind enough to suggest I should drop off my rental car, so that I can have a stress free morning to hop on their free shuttle to the airport from the hotel to catch my early flight. The hotel called me a lyft actually to lyft me back to the hotel after I returned my rental car (do they do this often or is it because I had status? they really treat you like a VIP guest!). Definitely coming back to stay at this hotel again if work takes me here.

This location has a a lot of pros such as walking distance to the target center and twins stadium…read more Tons of restaurants in walking distance as well but the biggest down fall is the valet service. I pulled up waited over 15 minutes for someone to come outside upon arrival. Josh was a very helpful to check in with also gave me a goodies bag for being a diamond member and upgraded room so shout out to him. Valet the next day gave me a hard time to retrieve my car demanding I pay on the app first like I was going to never return when I have a 3 day stay so no problem I pay the $130 for 2 nights then he demanded I pay an extra $11 per day due to the truck size after they already sent me a $130 bill. The valet service was very rude and slow every time I needed to come and go from this hotel. The rooms are nice and spacious. This location also has a great size gym and pool along a laundry room as well on the -2 floor I highly recommend coming here but do not bother with valet
