The clerk was super friendly and gave us a restaurant recommendation (apparently most restaurants in Princeton are closed on Mondays). The room was fine with a big bed and work desk, sofa with table, etc. It wasn't the cleanest though. The carpet had not been vacuumed and the sheets were "linty" and had some leftover hairs from previous guests that I'm hoping just didn't come out in the laundry. The AC/heating unit was filthy. The bed was decent, but the pillows provided for a long 12-hour uncomfortable drive the next day. The bathroom could have been cleaner (hairs in the shower and soap tray) and the floor not so clean. It was fine for one night though, except for the window faced the outside open park like space outside on the first level. The "shade" was just a clear pull-down device with no black out feature or curtains over the top or underneath. The bright lights from outside shone brightly all night long! The breakfast buffet in the morning was ample! From home fries, omelets, cereal, yogurt, and coffee to Krispy Kreme donuts........tons of food. The tables weren't so clean (are you sensing a theme here?), but I was impressed with the amount of food and the choices. Five stars to the front desk staff here. The evening clerk was very friendly and personable, as was the morning clerk when we checked out. I'd probably stay in Evansville next time I'm driving through this area, but if you're in Princeton this is a decent place to stop for the night.

Awful terrible set up! The microwave wouldn't warm food and had a burnt smell throughout the room from trying to use it. There were only two towels left for swimming in the pool area. I had to ask the lady at the front desk to find more. She gave us bath towels and asked when we were finished swimming to turn out the lights. I have found over the years that the hotels close to the river are always way overpriced at certain times of the year so if you are willing to stay a little off the beaten path then give this hotel a shot. The hotel is located right off the highway and no more than ten to fifteen minutes from most of the major attractions in Owensboro. This hotel has all the amenities you need for a one or multiple-night stay. The staff are professional and this hotel is very well run by management and staff. My room was clean, and spacious and had everything I needed for two nights. The hotel has an excellent fitness center, indoor lounge areas, outdoor lounge areas and a very busy pool, Breakfast includes a variety of hot and cold choices, pastries, bread and cereals, fresh fruit and above-average coffee. The rooms have full fridges and useable kitchenettes, and depending on the size of the room you may have a bigger kitchen area. The room has many electrical outlets and USB charging stations for all of your devices. If you have USB-C then bring your charging blocks. The AC and heating units in your room work very well and are not that noisy. Wifi is easy to connect to and if you are a Bonvoy member you get the upgraded wifi at no additional charge, Lastly, this hotel has digital keys so you can skip the line up when you check in and they automatically send you your bill when you check out. We ate a huge dinner at the Gasthof, drove ten minutes to our room and took a nap. You might do the same. The family who run this motel are friendly. Many of the folks who stay here are traveling workers. They were quiet and respectful, go to bed early and leave for early shifts. We smelled some delicious BBQ someone was making on an outdoor grill. The fridge in our room is unusually large for in a motel. Make sure to plug it in if you stay here. The A/C works great.

The outside isn't as fancy as the inside. It's the inside that matters to me. The third surprise was the powerful hot shower to unwind. The 4th was the powerful A/C that cooled the room in minutes. The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.
