When I went to the rental office where the laundry is located John was not there. Then I met John on the way out. I asked John if he was the Super and he said "Yes I am the Super". I introduced my self by informing John that I was the one who called the rental office and left a message. John replied "Listen, I could not understand the message you left on the answering machine!". I said Sir, the message was in English what is it you did not understand? John said "I don't understand Pakistani language!". I replied that I am not from Pakistan Sir!. John then came to my face trying to be physical with me. I got off the property after I told John that I will report this incident to his superiors. I am a naturalized US citizen who finished my Bachelor's and Master's Degree here in NY and I have been living in NY for the past 28 years and I do not have a problem expressing myself in English language. My fiancé is a white English language speaking woman with a JD and I refused to say anything bad about John's white skin and black hair. Please take a note of this. AWFUL! Horrible experience to rent. My apartment have boiler underneath.Every fifteen 15 minutes we have sound like subway train is passing under and shaking entire apartment. I have complained so many times to property manager. My wife have started sleep disorder due to noise. They are not taking any action and not let you vacant for lease brake option. Also they are saying it is gated and safe community . i don't see that gate is working at all. 24/7 gate is open and trespass is happening all day. And all top of that water bug ,cockroaches are all time. every fifteen days exterminator are visiting their but they are invisible mode. I never seen them. They are taking only advantage of people. Almost paying like a mortgage amount for rent. it is not worth at all. read more

Fairfield Meadows moved in here one month ago disaster. Poor management and worse maintenance. Have water leak in bathroom for over a month. They took out large piece of sheet rock a month ago and didn't come back. Embarrassing to say least. No sense of urgency for tenants. Preference is to get vacancies fixed to sucker in new tenants. read more

Hmmmmmm where do I start. Let's go back 4 years, we found this apartment in lindenhurst and it was clean and kind of updated. The rent was reasonable for space and we were good with it because it was not a fairfield. First year was nice the super was helpful and the owners actually answered the phone. Any and all concerns were met. Second year started circling the drain. We started seeing land serveyers and so I asked what are you checking for ? He said only thing I can say is fairfield, it's all I needed to hear. I called the old owners and they played dumb and then next thing the signs went up. Every single lie started from there. Corona virus hit and in the midst of it all right when the moron governor we have said no evictions and no lease forcing is on hold, not fairfield ! Forced all of us in the building to sign or get out. No question no choice. Tried calling and guess what, nobody working and not phones being answered. The building is now becoming a fairfield, the roof being redone after just being done less then a year ago. No notice, no call to say we are starting construction this date at this time so you know. My wife went to walk out if the front door only to be trapped due to the giant tarp they blocked the face of the building and got in to a confrontation with the contractor because he would move the tarp for her to get out. The parking lot was blocked by all the material to do work and nails were everywhere. My wife got a flat and another tenant got a flat and they said I wasent them. I lost a rear tire on my motorcycle due to a roofing nail, thank god I noticed because that could have been bad for my wife and I out on the road. I emailed the property manager and she said she thought someone would have told us about the construction.............. I said lady ! That's you !!!!!! The property manager !!!!!!. She apologized and said she would pay the bill for the tire. More lies ! Hundreds of dollars not needed to be spent. So roof finished and heavy rain the next week brought leaks to the apartment. We called maintenance and said they need to come either fix it. Maintenance showed up and took a handful of pictures and said ok gonna submit the pictures and see what they think...... what ? They wanted to prove it was not because of us, also that there was no mold from it. It is so easy to know this was directly a result from the cheap roof job they just did. Now tenants have left and unfortunately we had to resign a lease knowing it will not get better. Now they are doing renovations to the unit across the way and below us, absolute disaster! The dirt and debis left everywhere ! No clean up at end of day and they left broken cabinet parts all over the front lawn. The electricians broke through attic access because they couldn't pull it down. It's in the hallway above our door so it looks ghetto. Now I'm fighting with both the crappy property manager and PSEG on a street light that is above the area we park. Needless to say I have been lied to and pushed off on the repair. The property manager has been rude and condescending about the entire issue. Fairfield is and will be forever the absolute worst property group EVER !!!!!!! I take full responsibility for not leaving. I'm trying to make the most of it and not make too many waves until we leave. Note to everyone, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY PERIOD END OF STORY. I lived here for 2 years and I dealt with the upstairs neighbors and their pacing at ALL hours of the night. I dealt with the next door neighbors and their fist fights and police calls and all hours. I dealt with the FBI and police coming to the neighbors on night. I dealt with no heat one winter and maintenance not fixing it until the next winter. Then when we finally decided to leave we hired a cleaning lady to clean the apartment and I spoke to the guy who said did the walk thru and what he looked for and everything was good. We moved Sept. 28th 2018. I called and asked about the returning of deposit and I was told the end of November. Then I was told end of December, I got it today Januray 7th and they took $1300 out to replace the carpet and for cleaning. And if I have questions I have to put them in writing. I want to know, if I had a cleaning women clean the entire apartment what did they need to clean???? They will rob you. They will find away to take your money. I was warned and didn't listen. Have lived here for almost 6 years and I have to say since the Fairfield took over This place is going down hill. I have been waiting for repairs to be done since Oct. 2017 still nothing. It's a shame the grounds are beautiful the location is great. The staff and "Property Manager Krystal" are horrible. Think twice talk to people who live here. Also no sound proofing you can here your neighbors talking walking. The gym is dirty, bench has been ripped for over a year. Equipment is being stolen so sad read more

We live at 97 Cedarhurst Ave and this is one of the worst places to live. They advertise Park like grounds, meanwhile there are sink holes that aren't even fixed, just filled in, there's a dead tree on the grounds dropping branches and Fairfield feels the tree is not an issue, lights burned out in common areas for months, wallpaper off walls for months. This property is not take care of at all and they feel they are entitled to $3000 a month and to raise you $100 every year. We have central air that doesn't work properly. If it's 90 outside Fairfield says that's just how it is. We complain about things that need to be fixed and Fairfield tell us if we're not happy than to move. Instead of fixing something to make residents happy, residents who are never late with rent they rather lose you than help you. All Fairfield cares about if money. Things will break and they won't fix it or it takes months to fix it. We are lucky enough to be buying a house soon so we will be able to leave this dump. Reviews that are positive about Fairfield are written by the employees, I heard this first hand from One of the maintenance guys. Talk to residents before you rent from this company. read more

ONCE YOU SIGN A LEASE YOUR COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES WILL BE IGNORED. FAIRFIELD PROPERTIES IS DISHONEST AND SCHEMING AND WILL LOOK FOR ANY OPPORTUNITY TO CHARGE YOU AND TAKE YOUR MONEY. I initially rented at Fairfield Properties in Babylon Village. I met with a leasing agent named Monica, who has also been mentioned in other reviews. She was completely unprofessional, crass and vulgar. I signed a lease but soon thereafter inquired about a transfer to Babylon Townhouses, further down the road. For months, I would call into the Leasing office to see if I could transfer and never received a return phone call. Finally, a year and a half later I did get a phone call from Monica stating that there was an opening and she was doing me a "favor" by calling me even though there were others next on the waiting list for the apartment in the townhouses. She also told me I would only have one day to make a decision if I wanted to transfer. I did sign the lease and transferred over to Babylon Townhouses and it was the worst mistake I ever made. The apartment had to be updated and renovated after the last tenant moved out. With only two days before moving day, it was still in shambles. The walls were gutted, no carpet was down and you couldn't even tell which room was going to be the kitchen and which was the living room. I was assured it would be ready. Needless to say, on moving day, I had to stall the movers because the place was not handed over to me until noon. Monica never showed up to give me keys so when I called her she told me to borrow keys from the maintenance worker who was finishing up and make a copy. I had to then return the key that I borrowed from the maintenance worker back to the leasing office being left with only the copy that I had made. Upon moving in, I had to call up because there were several things that were still in need of repair, like the bathroom door that wouldn't close. I moved in the first week of December and there were very bad storms. The gutters that were directly over the entrances to my apartment and the apartment next door were damaged. Anytime it rained it would pour down directly over the door ways. When temps dropped, the water would freeze which resulted in a sheet of ice that me and my neighbor used to slip on anytime we came out the door. I registered a complaint many times and requested repairs. I never heard back but several weeks later it was repaired. In the late summer, we had a very bad rain storm in the month of August. Rain poured through the roof and came through the bedroom ceiling and since the sump pump failed, I also had water 1 foot high in the basement. I was told by my neighbors that this property was notorious for flooding and should have been told about that when signing the lease but I was not. Due to the water damage and mold, the entire downstairs had to be gutted and repaired. It took over two months to complete. When I asked about a reduction in rent for the loss of living space I was completely ignored. For months, I made phone calls, sent letters, emails and faxes. 2 months later I received a phone call and was told I couldn't be granted a reduction because the finished basement was meant for storage and not as living space. This was a complete contradiction from what Monica had told me prior to moving in. One of her selling points was that people used this finished basement as a 2nd living room so even the furniture I had kept down there had to be thrown out. The vinyl tiles on the floor starting bucking and lifting as a result of the flood and I was told by the contractor that they couldn't be removed because there was asbestos underneath. The solution was re-gluing and applying pressure. After a few weeks they lifted once again. Just two months later, the basement flooded once again resulting in more water damage. I called it in but no one ever came to check it out or follow up. I mopped up the water and dried it out to the best of my ability but mold came back as a result. I couldn't wait to move once my two years was up. My lease expired on the 28th of November so when I sent in my check on November 1st, I deducted those 2 days off my payment. I also included a letter of explanation. I never heard back. Instead, when I finally received my security deposit refund in LATE JANUARY I noticed the days that I deducted were charged back and deducted from the amount that was due me. They also charged me for having to change all the locks because the original keys weren't returned. I did return the copies I made with a letter explaining to them that I never received the original keys when I was handed the apartment. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you are thinking of signing a lease with Fairfield Properties think again. It will be a horrible experience for you read more

I wish I could give NEGATIVE stars because that's what they deserve! The 3 people who posted reviews prior to mine are 100% CORRECT in what they say--you work hard for your money, so DON'T waste it. These people are completely inhospitable & totally unresponsive to issues or problems you have. Every employee who works for them is condescending, rude & obnoxious! None of them seem to realize that WE are the reason THEY have jobs in the first place! The owner is a COMPLETE bastard. Phone calls & written correspondence go unacknowledged, you have to do all of the maintenance yourself (I am handicapped yet I have to shovel my own snow, etc.), & the "amenities" you're paying for you don't get (therefore costing you MORE money to go elsewhere). They increase the price every year even though the apartment never changes (I was raised twice in one year) & even though their expenses go DOWN. Renovations are NEVER made until you move out & if you want to move to another apartment (let's say you are moving in with your significant other & need a bigger place) they charge you a fee (though THEY don't move your stuff for you)! They've opened it up to the dregs of society; Section 8, drug dealers, etc. & the police are at my complex EVERY night (sometimes more than once). They call themselves a "Luxury Community", but there is NOTHING luxury about it except the price. There are flags outside the property (advertising a gym & laundry room that NEVER work) so if you find yourself traveling down Lakeland Avenue KEEP GOING! They only care about money & they force good people out because they raise the price so much noone can afford it! STAY AWAY FROM ANY PROPERTY AS AN OWNER OF REAL ESTATE. THEY ARE THE WORST IN THE REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT BUSINESS. Or before you move in, get a lawyer to represent your rights, your going to need one. You have to constantly threaten them with a lawsuit to get things fixed or repaired. Getting things fixed depends whether they like you or you have screamed at them enough times. Very sexist organization also. I have lived in 4 states and overseas and this was the worst living situation I have ever had. They have made some small changes but the upper management is still the same and money is all they care about not whether you are safe and comfortable in your abode. The Knolls of Glen Head: People are the nastiest people living there I have ever met in my life. Neighbors are horrible and rude. Coop Board will try to rip you off when you move out and take your money. Get a lawyer before you move in, you will be paying him/her a lot to get your rights represented. read more

Fairfield Properties East Meadow, NY is operating illegally with unaccredited and unlicensed individuals. There is definitely a cover-up going on as they refuse to answer essential questions. The UNMONITORED shelf system for leaving packages in the mail room is an open invitation for theft and they refuse to enforce any action for such. Maintenance is weak; hallways are rarely vacuumed and the general appearance is run down for the outrageous rents they charge. The majority of renters have no idea how to co-exist with neighbors and management refuses to enforce lease rules re: noise levels. Their blase attitude is disgraceful. All they are interested in is collecting egregious rents with minimal services. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND renting here as conditions are minimal and walls are paper thin. Management double talks with no effective results. They should be sanctioned for unfair business practices. Property was an old schoolhouse 40 yrs. ago and was poorly retrofitted for apartment living. It should be bulldozed. read more

Unless you insist on not living on the ground floor of Fairfield senior villages on Long Island you better think twice about those co-ops. i can't afford to live elsewhere until I retire and get off this miserable island. But I've sued by them on purely hearsay complaints from the downstairs nut case. But Fairfield took her word for it and sued me for over $600. And if i didn't contest the totally baseless complaint after that one I'd would have been sued for over $1000. Then again i was warned by the co-op board when i moved there that the floors were very thin. Like that's my fault. All I ever did was walk on the carpeted floors at night. Once when i dropped by TV remote the nut case downstairs stood outside the next morning as i was leaving for work and complained about "the noise". It when on and on until Fairfield demanded to see if i really had wall to wall carpeting. So i had to leave early from work and let them in. She took photos and that was that. So i thought. I have a perfect right to walk anywhere in my co-op at 2am on weekends. But after being harassed by the nut case, i spent over $1700. on Karastan remanents to place on top of the old carpeting in almost every walk space. STILL i get complaints from the nut case. Leave it to a cheap outfit like Fairfield to rent out living space with second story flooring of clearly inferior build quality. i wish there was better country to retire to. I rented an apartment for over 2 years. And for over 2 years it was HORRIBLE. I moved in and it was filthy. My many maintenance complaints were never addressed. Including no heat, and a flood. I was always told someone was "coming" and they never showed up. When it snows they take days to clear a path, and almost never plow. The walls are thin. Absolutely HORRIBLE company. Do not rent here. Water was turned off multiple times without warning, phone calls to management are never returned, property manager is unreachable. Came into apartment multiple times unannounced without permission. Laundry facilities are disgusting and never working properly. Upon moving out, property manager didn't return 5 voicemails, finally reached her and she was extremely unprofessional and rude. Upon breaking a lease they will keep your security deposit and 2 additional months rent equaling around $4,000 and they will Illegally double dip and rent the apartment to a new tenant. Lastly, you can move in at a cheap price but they will jump your prices quickly each year. They don't care about keeping good tenants. I have lived at Fairfield on the Green in Holbrook for over 5 yrs, I would say I loved the layout and how spacious the apartment is and most importantly I felt safe compared to other properties. Having to recently deal with the main corporate office I will say that they are the worst I have ever dealt with, nobody answers the phones and if they do they cut you off in mid sentence and transfer you all around until you get someone's voicemail that you can leave a million messages and they never return your call! Or you can speak with someone who tells you they are busy and suddenly get disconnected, or try sending emails to ever department with no response or if you do get one they do not give their name or send back a professional response back its maybe a 5 word reply. Corporate office staff are beyond rude and unprofessional and they do not do their job, so they leave you at their mercy when they screw up and don't expect an apology or any assistance to fix/correct any issue. Never received my lease renewal and its the last week of the month, I had to call email and stress out while at work to only receive after a million messages and emails I sent them a lease in an envelope in my door with a huge increase!! Not the normal $40-$50 dollar increase but try to speak to someone regarding this, then suddenly get a final notice in the mail the same week, not to mention this did not just happen to me it happened to other residents at the very same time as our leases were up. They have you backed into a wall, who can find a place and move in less than a week when you were not expecting to move? I emailed and left more messages regarding this, only to receive an email back on Friday at 4:50 pm of what the market for this apartment is and that my rent reduction was denied (not addressed to me or professional not a name of who responded to my email nothing just those words)! I am beyond furious and angry and this is not OK, I wish I had the means to box up and move out right now but I don't and I am stuck and they get another year of my money for an outdated apartment that I cannot afford. I will NEVER recommend this place again, and I will be reporting this as high up as I can go because you do not treat customers/renters like garbage its not acceptable! FairField Properties is the ultimate ZERO in Customer Service. Mismanaged, with major issues such as a backed up septic system with Human Feces above ground and present in common areas. We didn't think Fairfield could be all that bad considering how many properties they own, but after renting one apartment for 2-1/2 years we will NEVER use them again or recommend them to anyone. We've never had any issues with any other companies we've rented from before, but Fairfield has a very sneaky way of doing business. Aside from the fact that the Super never answered his phone (he did usually call back), and the fact that it was nearly impossible to get anything corrected in our apartment without the Super first getting the Property Manager's approval (which, at times, took days or weeks), getting our security deposit back was the worst experience. BEWARE OF FAIRFIELD'S LEASE/CONTRACT!!! Read it carefully! We didn't sign the lease the first time we sat down to do so. There were about 10 sections which either needed to be revised or completely eliminated. The rep kept telling us, "Oh, don't worry about that. That doesn't apply to you." Luckily, we had everything we were uncomfortable with changed, because when they finally issued our security deposit refund check, they took out $511 for "Real Estate Taxes", which is something they can legally do, but since we had a fully executed lease eliminating that paragraph, Fairfield told us they'd be "willing" to give us back that money. They also make you vacate the apartment 3 days before the real end of your lease, but make you pay for the entire month. They took out $35 for carpet deodorizing and said it was because of the dog smell. Our dog is hypoallergenic and only lived in the apartment for the first 2 months of the 2-1/2 years we were there. When the Super did the walk-through, he said everything was fine and we'd get our whole deposit back. Ok, so who's lying?? After the first snow storm we had, I called the office 3 times before anyone came to clear the parking lot at 2pm the next day. Nobody was able to get their cars out to go to work. When the guys did show up to our 16-unit property, we were told they first went to another county to clear the lot of a 200-unit property. They repaired the building roof while we were renting. The roofers took the old roof off leaving only a tarp in its place. That night there was heavy rainfall and the roof leaked, shorting out a light fixture in our bedroom closet and dumping dirty water on half of my clothes. It took me almost 2 months to get them to refund me $75 for cleaning costs. This review only scratches the surface of the BS you go through with Fairfield. The apartments themselves are nice, and a lot of the properties are being completely remodeled, but don't let that fool you. You'll still have to deal with the employees. read more

THEY DON'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR!!!! I live in a Fairfield Apartment Complex in Bohemia, NY. I recently inquired about renting a clubhouse for a party, and since my complex does not have a clubhouse I was told I could rent at another complex. I chose the Fairfield Commack Clubhouse and was told the price of $175 plus a $250 security deposit. Three days before the party, they decided to advise me that because I didn't live in the Commack Fairfield location I could not rent the clubhouse and they would simply mail back my check. I was of course infuriated by this and demanded that they make an exception being that the party was only 3 days away and it was not MY mistake it was the rental agent's. From the beginning this was a disaster and they gave me a hard time. The morning of the party I went to sign additional paperwork since I was not a resident in Commack and they had to give me the key. The rental agent in the clubhouse advised me that she would be in the office until 5 which was ABSURD because my party started at 4, so while my guests were there I had to have some woman sitting in the office which was completely ridiculous...but fine...so she leaves at 5. Now its starting to get dark so I go to put the lights on and they don't work. So we waited a little bit and figured maybe they were on a timer, but no. MY GUESTS WERE SITTING IN THE DARK FOR AN HOUR!!! I called the emergency number and the person on the phone was in such a rush to get me off the phone she didn't listen to my full story and had MY super in Bohemia call me instead of the super for Commack. So I had to call back again (while my guests were still sitting in the dark) and couldn't get an answer as to when they could get someone to come figure out the lights, so my guests continued to SIT IN THE DARK!! My husband finally was able to find the breaker box in the laundry room and noticed that the breaker was off and turned it on and we finally had light. At the party, I hired a waitress who is also a cleaning lady to take care of things during and after the party. The place looked better when we left than it did when we started. The party was on March 3rd. I assumed that my $250 would show as a credit on my rent statement since i did not receive a check back yet. Sure enough I got my rent statement Friday and there's no credit. I called this morning and when I asked when I'm getting my money back I was told it was "under investigation and they couldn't discuss it". If there was something wrong with the place I should've been notified IMMEDIATELY! These people are CROOKS! How do you hold someone's money for this long and not bring up that there was a problem with the condition the room was left in until they call? Sounds fishy to me! This was a family party with about 30 guests...not a kegger with 50 drunk people! And when both myself and my husband called they refuse to tell us what the problem is? This is a really horrible thing to do to people and I cannot wait to get out of this apartment complex. I can't wait to see the fight I'm going to have to get my $1250 security deposit back when I move OUT of there! We don't make a lot of money and $250 is a big chunk of change for us and I was counting on that to put towards my rent. I have heard many many bad things about this company but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt with a 1 year lease. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER RENT FROM FAIRFIELD!! I would rather live in a cardboard box than ever give them another dollar of my money. I feel like from the beginning, it was in their plans to screw me over. They do nothing to help you only work against you for EVERYTHING. How can I trust now WEEKS LATER that whatever this so called problem with the condition of the room was because of me? I should have been notified at the time of the inspection that there was a problem. Too much time has gone by now and since I was not notified that there was a problem I want my money back. I can't afford to just throw $250 to a company of crooks that rip people off left and right. DO NOT RENT FROM FAIRFIELD!! Where to start? I lived at Fairfield Lake Grove for one year, the first apartment was a first floor apt and the upstairs neighbors kept me and my then 5-year-old son up all night. After putting in complaints and calling the cops 2 different times for the issues with this neighbor Fairfield FINALLY moved me to an 2nd floor apt after I was nearly assaulted by this neighbor. This second apartment had creaky floors, I could hear my neighbor in the bathroom unfortunately and hear voices CLEARLY from all neighbors around me, including downstairs. There were centipedes all over the apartment and no matter how many times the exterminator came they did not go away. A tree fell on my relatives car in their parking lot and also a neighbors and Fairfield did nothing to try to help. They told us we were on our own. There were people who walked around with blue gloves nightly looking on the ground repeatedly and near the dumpster and would curse and yell regularly, and also curse and scream even in the morning when I was getting my son on the bus. I was scared to let my son outside honestly and also there was another man who would walk around saying nasty things to tenants there; he cursed at a lady for no reason while walking by her. I did not feel safe walking for exercise at this place and instead got a treadmill to stay inside. There was a man who would BLAST his music from 4pm to 11pm daily and did not give a damn who had kids that had to be in bed early for school. And the kicker is my security deposit! I put 1,000 down, moved out the end of June and here it is November and after several emails and phone calls to management I don't even get a response from them! I filed at court today to get it back. I was a good tenant and left that apartment immaculate and this is what I get in return. I'm a nurse and have to take off work to go to court to get back what's rightfully mine. They do not care about their tenants, believe me. I would stay FAR away from them unless you enjoy headache after headache, lack of sleep due to impossible neighbors, and missing out on work to fight for what's yours in court. read more

Fairfield Properties at Middle Island and the Overall Company who handles each property I lived at this property for one year and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I want anyone who does not want to pay a lot of rent for aa cheap structure to stay clear. I hated living in this apartment and came across a few irritating things. One was the fatc that a maintenance worker kindly let himself in my apartment while I was there with my young child claiming he was making sure it wasnt vacant. This was scary and unprofessional. Two was the broken things that didnt get fix and n one ocaion I ask for a leaky roof to be fix in a boiler room but they did it in the wrong room which was insane because if they didnt see a leak why did they patch the ceiling and not only that they used my personal step ladder to do the work and left it dirty. The worst thing of all is the fact that they kept my security deposit claiming they needed to replace carpet and a door. The carpet was brand new when I came in and only spent a year there which was not daily since i worked in nyc and spent the night in the city most of the time the other thing was for a patio door that was broken when I got there. I could not believe they could rob me like that. If you are foolish enough to rent there after reading reviews make sur eyou demand a work through and video tape maintenance okaying the condition of the apartyment. Not only that the new people in the apartment personally told me the carpet was not replaced so its sad to know this company is this scandolous. The unit itself was fine. Plenty of room but nothing special. Crabby neighbors but nothing horrible. And then there is the management - if there are more than 3 people that work in the office, I would be surprised. And sadly, one of them is a person named Katy. I have shoes that are smarter than her. My lease ended last day of June, the 30th (which they say is the 28th). Not only did they debit for July, but this person said it would not be refunded for 90 days like the security deposit. I don't know about anyone else, but nearly $2000.00 is not an amount I want hanging out there. I attempted to explain to her that the security deposit and the rent were 2 different amounts but that seemed to be too much information for her to handle. She then gave me the name of the company that handles the rent payments. I called them and in a matter of minutes, they had discontinued the auto payments but unfortunately they had to have Fairfield authorize a refund of the overpaid rent. My grandchildren's children will all be dead by the time Fairfield gets that one figured out. Luckily, my background is in banking so I should be able to get this done without them. We tried to get a shorter lease than 1 year but apparently, they do not have a form for that and their lease is a mess. Many different pages thrown together of various sizes. We knew we would only be there for 7 or 8 months but they just couldn't do anything but a year. And they cannot give you a copy of the lease when you sign it. They have to send it to there "corporate headquarters" for the rest of the signatures. Good luck getting a key from the Post Office with out a signed lease. These people are clueless. And I was told it would be 60 days until I got my copy back, at which point I told them that if I missed one bill because the Post Office would not give me a key for the mail box, they could pay all late fees. The lease "magically" was able to be scanned to me right after that. But since they get Section 8 monies, they can pay their bills and the rest of us pay for it. With plenty of drug addicts roaming around. I'm not sure if the laws in NY are that crappy towards tenants of if Fairfield just doesn't comply with the statutes regarding rentals but either way, we are out of there and VERY happy that we are and if work takes us back there, we will definitely be finding other accommodations. read more

it is the most terrible place I have ever stayed! at the first month they missed my bill, or the post office missed it but anyway I didn't receive it, then they charge me 10% late payment! the worst thing is that when I complained this to the representative, she said even though I did not receive my bill, I should pay on time! That is ridiculous! I haven't lived here for several years so something, just moved in several weeks ago. Why the hell I should know when the deadline is! and she was pretty rude! it is not my fault anyway, and even though it is, a customer should not be treated like that! The apt I rent missed two window shields when I moved in, and I have kept calling for maintenance. you will never expect some one will pick up your phone or reply voice message! finally I got some one answer my question, she told me she need to order one so I have to wait. and six weeks after that, nobody had ever contacted me and my calls were never picked up! I was really want to move out since the second month moving in. Thank god I only signed one-year lease, can't wait to leave the horrible place! I will not recommend to anyone fairfield! There should be a way to give ZERO stars. Fairfield is a hideous organization. They mistreat pretty much everyone who leases with them. Once you sign, they know they have you. They use intimidation to have you not get maintenance repairs done, making it highly uncomfortable to even ask. They enter your apartment without prior notice. They know they have you and will never be decent regarding anything. They will squeeze every dollar out of you, and when they make a mistake, make it almost impossible to rectify. The real thing I can say is they act like an evil machine, almost terminator like, making life as difficult as possible to increase their revenue, and nobody that you speak to will ever be decent or kind on the phone. read more

I am currently renting from Fairfield. They are the worst management company I have ever dealt with. Their accounting department charges whatever they feel like (I was charged for a month I didn't even live in a Fairfield property). They fix nothing! It is nearly impossible to speak with anyone, and once you do, they lie to your face. My Name is Theresa Fitzpatrick; I had lived at 227 Lakeland Ave in Sayville. Which is owned by Fairfield Properties in Commack NY. My Husband and I had lived there for 3 years. Our lease was up as of April 1st. We had asked for a for a 2 week extension since we needed it for the closing on our new home which they had given us. We had paid them in full including for the two weeks. We also have the letter they mailed us and a copy of our bank check. I had called their office to find out when I would get my deposit back and was told that it takes 60 days at first. Not Counting that my husband and I also had to give their office our address 4 times. And still we have not received any correspondence. We were patient and waited the 60 days. I had called their office and was told that it was on the landlord's desk waiting to be to signed. Then I waited more and 2 weeks later called again to be told it still was pending review on the landlords desk and when I asked how long this will take ,the answer I received was he has a heavy work load and we will get our check by the second week of July. We still don't have our check. And would like our Money. There is no reason why we should not have our deposit back. read more
