I'm a jazz collector. I came in here and was very impressed with the wealth of jazz records they…read morehad all were very clean. I found a handful of titles I've never seen anywhere. There are problems, no workable turntable to hear the records. And even when I asked if they could play the records on their turntable behind the front desk it did not work. This is kind of a dealbreaker for a vinyl store. They didn't even have an open outlet so I could charge my phone. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also have quite a good classical section. The prices are a little bit on the steep side for a store in such a remote location. But considering there are three or four other stores nearby the prices are fair. And, they have a bunch of cool junk to look at in the store! I went back today. The owner was there, not a very agreeable fellow. Apparently the turntable works now, and he agreed to play me a record even though he said he usually doesn't. A record store they refused to play records to check for condition is basically worthless. You have a shit ton of these records, you should be more than willing to play a few cuts from records up to five records. This is what we always do to jazz record center. It's just basic common decency. I did find a good used miles Davis record that I never seen before.

There were lots of bins but few signs to tell what was inside. And when there was a sign, no relation to what was in the Bin---Bin contents seemed random. There was a guy behind the counter who looked as disheveled as the store. I asked him where 80's rock was, he said "what?" I repeated the question, he repeated his "what?", He wanted me to say what 80's rock, so I said PreFab Sprout, he said don't have any, I asked what about other bands,? To make a long story short, he couldn't be bothered. I found nothing I wanted. There was nothing fun about this place.

Great spot to find a new or used book at a fair price. They even had a small section dedicated to…read moresheet music. I found a like-new Dvorak Sonatine Violine+Piano book for $5, not bad. The coffee here was delicious; cups are running $4 - $5. They offer specialty espresso shots, hot chocolate, smoothies, sodas, and more ranging $4.50 - $7+. They do have other items for sale such as Folkmanis Puppets, decorative gift bags, a selection of greeting cards, unique journal books, and a variety of items related to creative writing. The store also supports local artists by displaying their artwork throughout the store along with the price list. There were several spots throughout the bookstore where you can sit back and enjoy your beverage or snack with a book, which made for a cozy welcoming vibe. Staff were super friendly and inviting. The store is well organized and it is fairly easy to find what you are looking for. If you need a quick reference point on where to start be sure to ask the staff for help. If you are a book lover this is a great place to visit while in Saugerties. I highly recommend them.

The atmosphere is incredibly charming and cozy, the kind of place you can wander through for a while and lose track of time. It has that classic, welcoming bookstore feel with so much personality packed into every corner. What really stood out to me were the prices--super reasonable, which makes it even more enjoyable to browse and actually walk away with a few great finds without breaking the bank. Overall, it's such a gem of a bookstore. I'll definitely be back anytime I'm in the area!
