How on earth this Eye Center receives such high remarks and stars on Google is beyond me. This is the worst Medical Center EVER! Here's why I think so: 1. Far too many clients/patients to doctor ratio. 2. Dr. Loizos and Dr. Bedell were more than 45 minutes to an hour late for each appointment my wife was scheduled to attend. 3. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is absolutely no customer/patient follow up. This is very alarming for cataract surgery is pretty serious business.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We are talking about a person's eyesight for goodness sake. 4. Dr. Loizos seemed to fumble his way through my wife's procedures, kind of guessing what to do next. 5. Dr. Bedell has excellent patient care, but is hesitant to do anything and seems incompetent at times. 6. My wife never received the results she was looking for. No, we don't wanna go back and have them fix her eyes again for we have lost faith and confidence In their abilities. 7. I originally sought help for a sever dry eye condition last October. I just received a bill adjustment 2/06/25. Its only a few dollars and the doctor did attempt to help me although I still have the condition. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The issue is with the person sitting in the front desk that for whatever reason maybe tenure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After sending me half a dozen text reminding of the appointment when I get there she questioned my insurance in a way that was both disrespectful and rude.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But I will be sending a 10 dollar check to pay what insurance did not cover. Bought a new pair of glasses at Fairview Eye Center. When they came in I was fitted by Jerry the optician. After taking them home and wearing them for a while I determined the frames were too large for my face. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I returned to the eye center and asked if I could exchange them for a different pair of glasses. It had only been two weeks since I bought the glasses. The person I talked to said they would have to get approval from my insurance company - Eye Med- in order to do the exchange[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The next day Jerry - one of the opticians- called me and said Eye Med would not allow the exchange. I asked why and he said that was Eye Meds policy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I contacted Eye Med myself to verify this and they said that was not correct. All the provider had to do was contact them and nullify the original claim and my benefits would be restored and I could start over. So Fairview Eye Center gave me incorrect or false information. Probably because they did not want to eat the cost of the original pair of glasses. Many other companies that sell glasses will allow returns or exchanges within a 30 day window of the purchase date. Apparently Fairview Eye Center does not and yet they do not post anything about a no return policy or any return information period. I will not be buying any more eyeglasses from this company. You have have lost a customer of many years. read more

I am not a patient at this practice, however, my parents are patients with the Eye Center. In the last year and a half, I have attended appointments with my mother for a second set of ears as to what the drs she has seen would recommend for her vision problems, in addition to her well exams. In 2022, my mom had cataract surgery as well as laser surgery on one eye to correct floaters. During her most recent well exam in the spring of 2022, she needed a prescription update due to her surgeries and changes to her vision (prescription). My mom and I sat down with Jerry. He was not very customer friendly with respect to my mom and accommodating an elderly person who may not understand everything being said to her and some of the things that she said back were not acknowledged in a kind or compassionate way. It made my mom, who isn't outspoken and is very timid, uncomfortable to be his CUSTOMER, the person he is there to HELP! Flash forward to today: I made an appointment because her vision is not right. He was very stand-offish, not at all warm to an 83 year old woman who, once again, might not say everything that he can understand, but it's his job to be a welcome face to the patient who is paying money for his services. My mom picked up on this even prior to the appointment today and was dreading going into The Fairview Eye Center because she knew she would have to see Jerry. To make matters worse, he basically told her (us) that she either sat on or slept on her glasses....Ok????.......Then, when I told him the specifics behind the current appointment (suggested by a specialist that we go back to where the glasses were made), he told me "the glasses have worked for the last year, so clearly they are not a problem". I told him, sternly, that they have been a problem for the last year! He might have caught on to the way I spoke, because his tone changed. My mom has talked about this all afternoon and into the evening and it gets me mad and sad! Stop treating people meanly just because you don't understand them when they walk through The Fairview Eye Center door. Treat your customers with dignity and respect! You woud want nothing less for yourself or your loved ones, Jerry! read more

I originally chose the Lakewood office because it was conveniently located near my home but after our 1st initial appointment we were sent to this location, an additional 15 minutes away. Normally I wouldn't care but our last visit was anything but good. I waited with my two children for over 2 hours to be seen and once we were called back they miraculously forgot to dilate her eyes so we were asked to wait even longer. By this point none of us have any patience left and the doctor couldn't have cared less. She was very quick about everything and half the time I couldn't understand what she was saying. She spoke so fast so I'm curious as to why we even had to wait so long considering how fast she was with her patients. read more

This is the worst place! They're constantly overbooking and the patients are waiting to be seen by a doctor. I take my elderly friend there and I observe how they treat people. Nobody should have to wait over 2 hours for an eye appointment. Elderly people shouldn't be taken advantage of at all. Go elsewhere if you can because there are other eye docs in the city! read more

I really like this place. I have seen them regularly for my own eye needs, including contacts, glasses prescriptions and glaucoma monitoring. I've never had an issue with appointment scheduling. While I thankfully have not had an emergency, my dad was able to get in right away when he had one, and he was able to see the right doctor for what he needed. read more

This facility is okay at best. They get the job done..eventually...and on their own time schedule. If you make an appointment expect to wait a minimum of 25 to 30 minutes in the waiting room. They have several doctors at this office however they are constantly overbooked. I have been here 3 times in the last 2 years and have never been seen on time for my appointment. Overall typical time per appointment spent is almost two hours. Note: staff is nice and friendly and they have many resources for you but just not always worth the wait. read more

I've recently went to the center in Lakewood, they were nice but not very fast. However, I tried calling the office 4 times yesterday because I needed to order contacts. I was on my last pair and needed a trail pair because the one was irritated, I left a voice mail and then called 3 more times before they closed to pick up a pair of trails before they closed. So, I figured I'd just stop in on a Saturday morning get everything done and to find out they are closed. That is very poor communication when someone is in need. Also, they never gave me a copy of my prescription so I could shop around else where for contacts. So needless to say I have to wait u til Monday because someone couldn't give a 40 second call back to say a pair of trials are set aside for you to pick up. I will never use any of the offices again and will be looking for a new eye doctor starting today. read more

I felt compelled to write because I felt the previous writer was incorrect in his/ her assessment. My eye doctor retired and recommended that his patients go to Fairview Eye Center. I suffered an eye emergency last year. It was during a weekend so I could not be seen. One of the doctors did speak to me at some length about my injury; and suggestions about what I could do until I could be seen. Everyone was very accommodating and made room for 3 apppintments that week. I never waited more than several minutes to be seen during that time or during several visits since then. There was always a receptionist at the desk when I arrived.I have visited both office locations. We can make judgments only upon our own experiences but all my visits were wonderful...I feel the hours for appointments are adequate by the way. SWW read more

I went to Fairview Eye Center, Dr. Kosmidis, to have laser surgery on a secondary cataract on my left eye. I now need to have the same surgery on my right eye. Fairview Eye Center is not covered under my new insurance. I called and asked for my records. I was told if I completed a request form I would then be given my records. THAT WAS A TOTAL LIE. The only way this office will give a patient their records is if the patient is charged for the documents. In my case $40. The records are mine but I am unable to retrieve then unless they steal $40 from me. I refuse to do so. I am very disappointed in how I have been treated relating to this issue. Dr. Kosmidis is a great physician. He has left the practice after many years. Could it be because of the way the office is run? I wonder. I would never recommend this office for any type of treatment because they lie and deceive the patient. read more

The Doctors are excellent but do not buy your glasses through them. They will mislead you and not allow you to make any changes to your order. They tell you that once you place your order for glasses they are submitted immiediately and the lab starts the work immedately. But you will still have to wait several weeks to receive them. I would recommend the Doctors but take you prescription elsewhere to be filled. read more

I have been going to Fairview Eye Center for over ten years. The office has been very accommodating in scheduling appointments .The billing department is only available till noon Monday through Thursday which can be a problem. Doctors are trying everything to help me to retain my vision. read more

My mother recently had her records sold her when her previous doctor closed his Middleburg Hts office. She tried to have her records transferred to another doctor in Middleburg Hts ( she signed a release form) and was told she had to pay $33 dollars for this transfer of her OWN records. There has to be something wrong with this. She is 87 and shouldn't have to drive anywhere she is not comfortable driving to see someone she doesn't know. read more

Do not go here, poor service. I went in for a complete eye exam. I was given a Dr. that doesnt do contact exams, and the eye prescription i was given was incomplete! I had to return for a second visit to get the complete prescription so i could get my glasses. And the only way i could get a contact prescription was by agreeing to pay them more money, which i refuse to do. This is not a reputable place, go elsewhere. read more

Went to the Lakewood location in September 2016 after moving to the area. The Dr. I saw was perfectly nice, however, I did not feel the exam was very thorough. My peripheral vision was not even checked. They did not warn me prior to the appt that they typically dilate eyes. If I had known, I certainly wouldn't have driven myself! My real complaint, however, is their follow up. When I was there they asked me my preferred method of communication and encouraged me to use their online portal for communication, which I did the next day. I emailed my Dr. a question about my prescription as based on what I know about my eyes, I did not feel was correct. I got no response. I waited a few days, and messaged again. At that point I decided I probably wasn't going to go back anyway, so I gave up on the contact. I received a voicemail in FEBRUARY 2017, from my Dr, stating she was calling regarding the message...yes, the message I sent in SEPTEMBER 2016. Do not encourage me to use your portal if you have no intention of using it yourself, and then certainly, do not leave me a voicemail that you are returning my message from 5 months ago without saying "I'm so sorry it has taken me 5 months to get back to you!" I did not return the call, as it is much to late, and I will be returning to my previous, wonderful doctor, even though he is now quite a distance from me. read more

Okay, I really like both actual doctors I've seen here, but their reception and hours are what prompts me to give them an awful review. They need to update their website. They are closed Tuesday afternoons and Fridays. The three times I've been there when I want to check in there is no one at the desk, I have to stand and wait. Then it's appointment time and I sit and wait for a long time. Maybe if they had more doctors to staff their two locations they could have better hours and we wouldn't have to sit so long. They are only open until 430 which sucks for anyone who works, which honestly is a normal human. The last time I made an appointment the lady answering the phone acted like it was the first time she'd ever done it. She was completely confused and then when I got to my appointment of course the doctor didn't even know what I was there for. They have two locations and on the website for the Lakewood location is a number, I called that and was told "oh you can call this number, that's for the Lakewood location, this is Fariview." um.... so which number is which!? The optometrist at Lakewood leaves much to be desired too. "What did the dr presribe you?" How do I know!? I'm not a doctor, it's some contact lense brands I've never heard of! So today I finally get to leave work early to go pick up two of my three sample lenses (two weeks later) and think "oh watch they're probably closed." I get there,.... CLOSED. Like I've said I really like the two doctors I've seen but their reception staff and hours are such a cluster.... It's just one thing after another here. I really think I'm going to go somewhere else. read more
