A woman answered the phone and immediately put me on hold. When she came back I explained that I had a couple questions about my dogs cremation. Without saying anything else she said "hold please". She came back and I continued with my questions. She said she would get back to me, took my name and number and just hung up. She was unpleasant and unprofessional. I get it that this was an animal and not a human we were discussing but a little kindness would have gone a long way. When she first answered she had no idea what my question was so I think she needs to be coached to show a little compassion considering where she is working.

And it may be something you need for someone you love. Years ago, I went to my best friend's mom's viewing & funeral at Healey Chapel. I remember thinking how nice it was without being stuffy or over the top. A couple of years later, her dad's services were just as nice. When my brother died several years ago, we had his services here. Because I was in Austin, I missed out on the heavy duty planning stuff that my mom & sister handled. It was a blur. Do I remember much? Nope. Do I remember it was nice & my brother would have liked it? Yes. What I should have remembered I didn't recall until a visit to Healey this morning. A very sweet memory. My sister & I met with funeral director Matt Darling today to discuss pre-planning our mom's services. Not really a fun thing to do on vacation. But it's something that has to be done because mom can't plan for herself anymore. Matt brought up some details from my brother's services and then it clicked. My brother was a sports fan. That's a huge understatement. He was buried in his beloved Chicago Bears sweatshirt holding his ratty worn out White Sox ball cap. So what Matt triggered in my memory bank and made me tear up this morning was his leading a chorus of "take me out to the ballgame" at the end of my brother's service. Sounds kinda weird, but it was really perfect and it brought some levity to a very difficult time. Everyone in attendance sang along & thought it was the perfect send off, too. Back to today's visit. Matt was so professional without being stuffy. He is great at what he does - helping people during their most difficult times. We were able to get answers to all of our questions, pick out things we want for mom & left knowing what other things we need to do with the cemetery and others. I know when the time comes, mom's services will be exactly what she expressed in the past & we won't have to deal with these details when we're grieving.

Since we were unable to attend the service I was devastated that the family would have nothing from us there at the funeral home. This has never before happened to us with any other business. We just had a funeral service for our mother right after Christmas. John met us and took care of all the details and set everything up for us exactly the way wanted and we were very happy how he treated us and we were very happy with the whole meeting. They really took care of us and walked us through this difficult process. They did an amazing job preparing our mother for the viewing. We had heavy hearts walking into the funeral home on the day of the wake bc we were afraid to see her. But to our relief she looked like our mom. She looked like the mother we all knew before she got sick. She looked peaceful. It helped make the rest of the day easier. The funeral home is well kept and comfortable. They cater to only one service at a time which is really nice. Plenty of parking. They also had a nice kitchenette for the family to use. I wanted to write this review as a way to say Thank you to Countryside for the time and effort that you put into making the whole process easier for us.

Moss was instructed to bury asap. Instead the burial was delayed 1/2 day and I was cut out of having any input into the time of burial as well as input into what the Pastor Michael Rasicci said about Mom graveside.
