Thankfully we were recommended to Montrose Hospice who was there every step of the way to help and taking great care of my mom. The genuine dedication and professionalism by Ani Melkumyan was apparent from day one. She organized everything quickly knowing the urgency of the needed care. We were explained the process and kept informed of the care details while being reassured and emotionally supported. She was always there for our calls and questions. Anything needed was handled promptly. The nurses were so amazing, they were skilled, attentive and compassionate. They cared for my mom with utmost dignity and respect that she deserved. Thank you Montrose Hospice team for the great service you provided to my mom and for making her last remaining days on this earth a calm and comfortable experience. We truly appreciate every single one of you and your great services.

A doctor from Kaiser Permanente was also assigned to care and watch over my spouse after he had been moved from the nearby Kaiser Permanente Hospital. The people caring for him could only be described as angels. Gentle, softspoken, caring and watchful day and night. I could not have hoped for a better or more beautiful hospice than what I witnessed. Visitation was in complete privacy and the parting peaceful.

I'm sharing one critical failure so others can make an informed decision about AccentCare hospice…read morein Los Angeles. My daughter has stage 4 ovarian cancer and began hospice with AccentCare three weeks ago. Hospice is supposed to provide comfort. In our case, it did not. Her pain was severe and constant, and despite multiple medications (methadone, morphine, and Dilaudid), it was not controlled. When we reached out to AccentCare for help. In return, we received a text stating she was being given too much medication. This was NOT the case. Instructions had been followed to the letter. That kind of inaccurate, alarmist communication created confusion and unnecessary distress during a critical time. A fentanyl patch was later added, but there was no significant change, so the fentanyl dose was tripled. Again no significant change. As the treatment was not working, and my daughter was not at all comfortable, we changed providers. The new RN immediately identified what had been missed: due to her extreme weight loss and lack of body fat, fentanyl patches were not effective--this kind of deficiency is a well documented issue with fentanyl patches. He changed the regimen, removed the patch, and the improvement was immediate--her pain decreased and she was finally able to rest comfortably. The whole point of hospice is to provide comfort and manage pain. You don't get one without the other. AccentCare failed on both.

I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

I had many questions and often called several times a week or even a day. The staff was always completely helpful and courteous, never making me feel like I was being a pain and always getting me answers right away. They were always on top of my mother in law's needs and increased visits any time something was a concern. Beyond that, when I had concerns about her health they would send out a nurse, often within the hour, to check on her and report back to me. staff was incredible helpful and would get back to me immediately every time I called. It was such a reassurance during a very difficult time. Nurse was the nurse who would visit, often three times a week. Knowing I wanted more detailed information than most people, he would send me pictures of his reports, text me every time he visited, call when things were more complicated, and always stoped to talk when he saw me visiting, even if it wasn't his day to see her. He became a confidant and someone I felt truly comfortable asking the hard questions. He really treated my mother in law like family and always showed her respect, even when he came the day she passed to declare time of death. Without any hesitation, I would recommend a touch of angel hospice to a friend. They are professional, caring, and reliable. They saved us thousands of dollars and so much stress
