Our first visit did not disappoint! We were seated promptly in the comfortable and cozy dining…read moreroom. The ambiance was just right. We ordered the bread service and a nice bottle of wine. My wife had the veal Marsala, and I had the delicious pasta pistachio. Both were excellent! We wanted to try the gelato but were too full!

New Italian restaurant in Murphy above Chevelle's and owned by the same family (shared entrance…read moretoo). That's where the similarities end however. Once you go up the stairs, you can see this is an upscale establishment. There's a nice bar area, piano playing and well around 10-15 tables. The interior is quite nice, though it's a bit bright inside for fine dining. We sat at the bar and had great service all night. Drinks were well made with quality ingredients. One strange thing... the kitchen is at the end of the bar and avail for all to see. While this is a positive, it's a bit small and I question how it'll scale if the restaurant was full. Of note, the dish cleaning area is next to the kitchen - also in the open and is a bit noisy. Not a huge deal, but worth a mention. To the food - we had 2 pasta dishes, the Carbonara and Pistachio pasta. The Carbonara was good, but the Pistachio dish was amazing. The menu did a poor job of explaining what's in the dish, but the staff was able to fill us in. It was a cream sauce with sautéed onions, prosciutto and crushed Pistachios. The flavor was fantastic. The wine list is pretty basic with few red options. This area needs some work. They should also allow a corkage fee to permit folks to bring higher end wine. The folks next to us had the Bruschetta and Lasagne and said both were great. Nice new addition to Murphy that will only keep getting better as they work out the kinks.

My absolutely most favorite coffee shop with amazing views, great beans and good service,…read more Located near Yonah mountain with a cow farm view. It's a beautiful place to connect with nature. The place smelled like great roasted beans. Service was great and gave great suggestions The coffee was excellent. The view of Mt Yonah was stunning, the setup of the place was cool, and the ambiance of their inside/outside area was nice. My two complaints are that it got pretty cold in their glass windowed area- they had a small heater but it wasn't doing much, and they don't give free cups of water here. I'd recommend adding larger heaters and getting a couple of them, considering how cold it can get in North GA in the winter. I'd also recommend giving free water instead of requiring that people buy bottled water. If you were in the Atlanta area, not offering free water would be a code violation. Not sure if that applies here but just to be courteous to your customers you should be doing that. Back to the positives... I ordered a coffee based frappe with the "glamping" flavor (white chocolate and marshmallow) and I thought it was amazing. 10/10. I would definitely order it again. My order came out in a decent amount of time and the employees were friendly. The prices were reasonable and we found parking easily. I would happily come here again! I think there could be a couple improvements (the water issue is why I deducted a star) but if they address those few things then I'd think the place is a 5/5 :) I would come back! (And bring my water bottle with me lol)

THis one has a story behind it. Got invited to a drum circle in Gatrlinburg by my girlfriend's son…read more We went out that morning to see Cades Cover (big mistake - it was Memorial Day) and swung back around through Townsend (stopped at Mountain Man to have a craft brew on the way). Knowing we were going up to the arts district, I looked for a place to meet them before the circle and saw there was a Celtic Pub. Only that was the spot where the drum circle was. And, to my surprise, it is the same owner as the Fox & Parrot Tavern in Gatlinburg, one of my favorite English pubs (and currently closed do to a feud with the US government - hope that gets fixed). The place is definitely British country feeling. Very nice tap list, including both local brews and standard UK brews. Heavy wood feeling with a very nice deck outside, which includes some spots under cover (which was important as it rained on the circle and people had to duck in). There is nothing elegant about the place or the food. But that is its charm. The fish & chips were on point, esp. with the malt vinegar. Shepherd's Pie a bit salty for my tastes, but not to the salt lick level. Also came with chips. As for the drum circle, if you are reading this in June 2026, that is every Monday at 6-8 PM through the end of the month. I got some great drone footage of the circle, which I added to this review.

I would never come here if I was in a hurry, but if you have 2+ hours to eat and want good food in a storied place with staff who will treat you like friends, you're going to love the Rampant Lion. NOTES: -In rural TN, it should not surprise you, but be aware that they have Trump displays in the restaurant. -The restrooms are single stall and accessed from outdoor. They're indoor restrooms - just the door to access them is on the outside. (No porta potties) They're solidly clean - just make sure to pack clothing that works for the temperature outside because you might be dipping outside a few times. -Parking lot is small and gravel. Relatively easy to get in and out of though. -Amazing gin selection with staff that *clearly* knows their gins. -Adorable photos of the owners on slideshow of their trip to Europe on the wall. It's adorably and clearly a couple who was on a good vacation. We've had a good chunk of their menu at this point. Pretzels: Delicious beer chese AND delicious pretzels. Quite a bit of food with this too. Bread, Oil, & Vinegar: Wasn't super fond of this one. A ton of oil in a bowl made it hard to get the right oil-to-vinegar ratio. Chicken Pie: Deliciously breaded with super-tasty french fries too. Served piping hot, so it took a bit to be able to eat it without burning myself but a wait well-made. Reuben: Partner absolutely loved it and said the bread was the absolute perfect consistency. SO much meat in there too (though he said it could use a bit of extra dressing). Bubbles and Squeak: Delicious. Just delicious. Zero notes, you should eat it. Beanie Weenies: Home-made right in the restaurant! My favorite thing on the menu. Super savory, semi-healthy (beans...at least?), and served super warm. Comfort food at its finest. Menu in-restaurant was different than online one on a few things.
