We were visiting Helen, GA and husband stopped by the gas station next door to get some gas. I saw this cute little cheese market and decided to step inside and explore. So happy that I did! When I walked in, the staff were super friendly and all smiles. The cashier/barista was such a sweetheart! They have a cheese market, deli, bakery bar, and coffee shop all in one! They sell all kinds of charcuterie items, from salami, cheese, jam, jellies, to coffee, candy, wine, and chocolates. They also sell cutting boards and other little trinkets. I absolutely loved that they sell "charcuterie for one" that has cheese, meats, and olives for a single serving on the go too! We saw that they had a lunch box special for sandwiches that includes a sandwich, cookie, pickle spear, and bag of chips for $12. What a steal!!! We decided to get the Jammin' Pig sandwich which is a panini pressed sandwich with ham, brie cheese, and cherry jalapeño jam. The lunch box was a great size and included Lay's regular potato chips and a chocolate chip cookie! They also sell other cookies and baked goodies (brownies, cakes, etc.) at the bakery bar area. The sandwich was probably the best sandwich I ever had in my life. Holy cow! The sandwich was pressed and grilled perfectly with nice grill marks and the meat and cheese was fresh! The brie and the cherry jalapeño jam melted together so nicely and added a creamy and flavorful element to the sandwich. The ham provided the saltiness that helped cut a little bit of the sweetness from the jam. The jam wasn't spicy at all. It was a beautifully balanced sandwich. My husband thought I was exaggerating (because I'm not picky with anything haha), but as soon as he took a bite, his expression was speechless. He loved the sandwich so much, that we decided to come back the very next day and ordered the same sandwich and tried another one. If you want to take another step, take a bite of the sandwich and then a bite of the pickle for that hint of acidity. It causes a umami effect with all the flavors dancing on your palette! For the lunch box special, you either get a chocolate chip cookie or the white chocolate cranberry one (I believe they alternate cookie flavors based on their inventory), but both cookies were delicious. The texture is not like other cookies as it's more like an oatmeal texture kind of deal. A little bit crumbly, but nonetheless, both flavors were very good and tasty. My husband ordered the Kickin' Horse sandwich the day after and he actually liked it better than the Jammin' Pig. His sandwich consisted of ciabatta bread, roast beef, muenster cheese, horseradish sauce, and onion, panini pressed style. I had a bite of his sandwich and all the flavors worked so well. The horseradish sauce brings out the roast beef flavor and enhances the muenster cheese. We tried some iced latte specials as well. We had the "Hippie Chick" that is a lavender honey flavored latte and the "Sweater Weather" which is a cinnamon and caramel? flavored latte. We absolutely loved the Hippie Chick latte and ordered another one when we came back, but the "Sweater Weather" wasn't our favorite. Respectfully, it tasted like a fall candle. It was good, but not the best we've had. Overall, we will definitely come back when we're in the area. The price was worth it for the amount of food that you get! Trust me when I say to get the sandwiches! You will not be disappointed!!! Now I'm craving their Jammin' Pig sandwich.... read more

Super cute place on the edge of town near Helen. It's a little market with cheese, snacks, beer, wine, and sandwiches. We stopped in for sandwiches and they were pretty good. They have specialty ones or you can build your own. I recommend getting yours made warm. You can also build your own charcuterie board. Everyone that worked in there was super nice. read more

Although they did have some standards (Smoked Cheddar, Manchego, Wensllydale) they also have some tastey introductions. Amazing charming little place. A must when passing through Helen, GA. The coffee is outstanding, creamy and perfectly prepared. Upon walking in you immediately feel cozy and warm. This establishment was a huge disappointment on my recent visit (June 2024) . The cheese selection was very limited, less than 20 different cheeses, and no samples available. The two staff people had no idea how to even pronounce the names of the cheeses nor be able to describe the flavors. The pimiento cheese I purchased turned out to be made of PROCESSED cheese and very dry and crumbly. Really? how can you call yourself a cheese market? No greetings from any staff either. most of the space in the store is allocated to alcohol sales. Sad to discover this business was not what one expects in a cheese market. read more

I am absolutely obsessed with cheese so I had to stop at Chattahoochee Cheese Market if even just to scope it out. I definitely was not disappointed. There are a lot of great things here from cheese to craft beer and breads but also cute Knick knacks and gifts that would be great for beer and wine lovers, or those who like to cook. You can come in and have a cheese board made for you - and you get to keep the board! I got a medium sized cheese and meat board for $25 dollars and it was awesome. On top of meats and cheeses there were nuts, cranberries, pickles, olives, and jam. I'm not from Georgia so there were quite a few beers and wines here that I'd never seen before. We decided to try something local and went with the Tart Plum Saison - it was pretty good! This is a great place to stop for a snack or if you're staying nearby to have at your lodge. Stop here if you're going to have a busy day and want some snacks or want to take a picnic! They have a great basket that comes with utensils and plates - definitely worth the buy. However, after walking through and even walking up to the cheesecase, we never received a hello how are you, may we help you anything. I've waited to give this review until I was certain of my feelings. After my fourth visit today I'm giving two stars. For some reason they cannot make my coffee the way I ask for it, ever! My only request is "not so sweet".... Four times in a row I leave with an unbearably sweet drink. That's very frustrating when you pay $8.50 for a coffee!! The store itself is cute, especially for the area. Staff is hit or miss when it comes to friendliness. Sandwiches are barely ok, but I certainly do not go to the store for the food. When you want to avoid Helen, this is a great spot. But, they are only open a few days of the week and they start closing things down an hour before they close - so don't expect anything hot during that timeframe. Would expect more with their prices and hours. read more

Stopped here to get some lunch today and was not disappointed. Ordered the Mamacita box lunch combo. The sandwich alone is $7.25 so in my opinion it's well worth it to get the lunch box (add chips, pickle spear, and cookie) for $10 total. The panini was very filling, with just the right kick to it. I got ruffle chips, a crunchy pickle spear, and possibly the best pecan chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Just a note, I was NOT asked what kind of cookie I wanted but that wa just fine with me. However, I could see it being an issue if you have some sort of food allergy. The ladies working seemed super nice, so I'm sure if you brought up a food allergy at time of ordering they'd accomodate. There are a ton of wines, beers, cheeses, crackers, chips...basically anything you'd need to have one helluva picnic or party. I'd definitely eat here again. read more

This place is such a gem. GO HERE for the most delicious breakfast sandwiches and morning beverage of your choice. Off the beaten path, quiet and easy to socially distance. We were instantly welcomed with southern hospitality as we entered. We ordered at the counter, the barista made us a specialty chai, and we ate out back at the river. The shop was nice inside but there was not a huge selection of cheese or meat. Two Tupperware containers of lunch meat in the cheese cooler and some Boar's Head salami sticks in a cooler. The cheese sample piece was too small to taste the cheese. We bought a package of the Carr cheese(from Wisconsin, also available on-line) and a cookie. The cookie was disappointing and not freshly baked. The reviews really hyped the place up but overall, not worth the time. read more

The perfect stop off for lunch after a morning hike and before heading for an afternoon one. The quality and combinations of sandwiches are superb. It's been a go to when in Helen, and just a fun place to hang out while they make a boxed lunch with a homemade cookie.
