Staff great and met a lot of nice people. Food and drinks were super and all at a decent price, my new favorite place!

I've been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner on my search for a rehearsal dinner location. I think we've found a winner! Things I like: 1. The fajita meat is awesome 2. The salsas they bring with the chips are really good. 3. There is a vanilla soft serve machine for a free dessert after (or before? Ha ha!) your meal! 4. Nice view of the marina. 5. Happy hour is 11-6 and large margaritas are $3!!!! I'll update my review after my rehearsal dinner, but for now, I think this restaurant is pretty good! read more

KENNETH was AWESOME! He recommended the Shrimp & Spinach Enchiladas with Poblano Cream Sauce. They were GREAT...except that some of the shell was left on my shrimp tails. Kids split the Ultimate Fajitas and the hubby got the Mariachi Tacos. All were very happy. Great view of Lake Conroe. Easily accessible. To reply to the manager you were not busy at this time. There were a total of 2 other families outside when I was seated the rest of the tables had no one. As for the inside it wasnt even 50 perfect full. There is no excuse. For future outside customers make sure you dedicate a server for the outside balcony. The server I approached stated well that's not my section. He should have alerted the other server when we were seated or the hostess should have. There seems to me several missed opportunities of communication on your part. As the manager maybe you should brush up on these with your staff. Also if you would have reached out and maybe asked what happened before posting a lame excuse that is totally false I may have been more likely to give you another chance. I am big on admitting when your wrong and not making excuses. read more

So Fajita Jacks is the very epitome of what is wrong with Conroe restaurants and the restaurants on the lake in general. Is this the best restaurant on the lake . . .come on, is that saying that much? There is truly nothing redeeming about this restaurant, except for the view, and they are just lucky the water level is back to normal. If you want sound advice, grab take out from some other restaurant and go sit on the peer and then you get good food and a great view. I must admit, I am absolutely stunned at the reviews in the positive for this place, but I guess to each his own. No doubt it helps to have a few drinks in you to make something taste better, but the margaritas are definitely not good or high quality, and they claim "famous fajitas" which I thought was a joke, but apparently they are serious. Their fajitas taste like nothing but pure black pepper, which to me, is scary . . . I mean, what are they hiding? So, I've eaten at the old location 3 times and the new 3 times, always thinking, surely I must be wrong, but no, I still can't find anything that would make me come back. Absolutely everything that has "fajita beef" tastes the same, like black pepper. I've tried the ground beef items, and while better than the fajita meat, is nothing special and nothing I wouldn't expect from Los Cucos. Sure, you must be thinking I'm just a negative naysayer, but that is only because so many times I really wanted this place to "be the one." When they moved onto the lake, it seemed like the perfect marriage. Well, the honeymoon quickly ended . . . The lake has sooo much potential, but as long as "this" is what constitutes good, we are in trouble . . .There are too many "tex-mex" places to rely on this one. If you really want the lake atmosphere, do Taco Bell across the street and then come over to look at the lake. read more

GREAT SERVICE: They must have asked at least half-a-dozen times if everything was OK with our order (began to make me a little nervous): But everything was delish. Terrific Hostess, Bartenders everyone was amazingly prompt ant attentive. Stopped in last night for dinner. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was great as always. Tried the mushroom jack quesadilla with steak instead of chicken. Highly recommend it. It was busy but our waitress still did a good job. Our drinks never went empty. I can top these other reviews with a few words: Large group (31), teenagers, and class sponsor adults wanting the kids to be happy! I called a couple days earlier to make a reservation. When we got there, they were ready for us. We were seated in a side room which was perfect for us. The manager was very friendly and we had a nice chat while his to top (and might I say, excellent servers - 2 main and one support asst manager) took drink orders. I loved that they took care of the adults first, but really the whole party was served pretty much equally in time. Now, these are 18 year old North Dallas kids. They are well behaved and . . . Shall we say, picky eaters. They loved it. I personally had the combo fajitas with the shrimp too. AWESOME!! I look forward to coming back. Been eating here for several years since new ownership. Moved to new location and the ambience is better, and in the summer sitting by the lake is a great experience. The food gets better all the time. I judge a Mexican food restaurant by its queso and their's is in the top 5 on my list. You won't go wrong with anything on the menu or the drink list. read more

Not the greatest. Wait staff always seems bothered by having to wait on another table. The food is terrible. We have given this place several chances and ordered new things every time. Every time we leave scratching our heads saying "why did we come back." The scenery is nice so maybe not a bad choice for drinks on the lake. read more

This place is pretty great. On occasion the food can come out slow but other than that i have no complaints. Its on the lake, well priced, and i never have to wait to be seated. And they have margaritas that are strong! We go here a couple times a month instead of going into the woodlands and waiting an hour to be seated anywhere (on a weekend). Service was good. Our hostess and wait staff were adequate. The waitress was pleasant and made eye contact, smiled. The location is really nice. Prime spot in lake Conroe and visible from the major though faire, hwy 105. Restaurant atmosphere is adequate: mellow adult soft alternative playing (a rather welcome change from blaring tejano music) but contributes to the overall blandness of the place. This is what I refer to as "people of another culture dictating how a native culture should prepare food." The take away from this place: the fajitas are awful. This place is named "fajita jack's" and the meat tastes like it's half dried jerky, minus the spices. It is abysmal. They obviously do not marinate their meat before cooking and add spices probably as a last measure while the meat is cooking. The meat didn't come out "smelling and sizzling" like you'd expect it would. The tortillas were pre made garbage. Tasted like rubber right out of the warmer. We asked for limes to add some flavor and used the salsas provided to add some flavor to the dry tortilla and meat. The beans. What happened to them? They tasted like they took one bean and cloned it a 100 times. No flavor. (Come on!) The rice was right behind it in flavor. They need to add the veggies to it like every other Tex Mex place does for flavor and moisture. On a happy note they gave enough cheese, sour cream, guacamole and pico (but this did not have any real flavor here either. You guys need to learn what lemons, limes, jalapeños are... You don't just cut them up and throw them on the top of things for looks.) The red salsa was warm and tasty, I was really surprised they went the distance on the salsas! The green salsa had a ranch flavor to it as well. While not authentic, it covered the "beef jerky" fajita meat really well and made it palatable. Edit: it's 2 hrs later. My boyfriend and I are stuck on opposite toilets. Disgusted thoroughly. I hardly ever use Yelp, but I am glad when I need to I can blast the pants off a place that needs it. Thanks, Yelp! read more

The main draw for this place is the view. Nice view of the dock, pier and lake itself. The hostess seated us right away upon arrival. Our waitress took our order pretty quick. Their chips and salsas are good. It took a while for our food to arrive. I had the American enchiladas with beef and they were tasty. My wife had the ceviche and it was not good. Stay away from that one. Prices are higher than they should be, but you are mainly paying for the view. With limited restaurants right on the water, this one is not a bad choice. The outside seating is really nice. The fajitas are always good. Unfortunately, the service always left something to be desired. However we enjoyed eating there and looked past the service until this past Mother's Day. We expected a wait and were ok with it until we noticed empty, dirty tables all over the dining room. After 45 minutes we asked the young girl at the front if we could sit at one of the tables. She said, "you can sit there but no ones going to serve you!" That was the last time we've been there. It's unfortunate because the service should be the easiest shortcoming to fix. I was not impressed at all with this place. I came late on a Friday night and I don't know if it was cause it was 9 o'clock or what but everything just turned to bad. I got the carnitas tacos, the corn tortillas were a joke, the mean was dry and they put way too many Jalapeños that I could barely eat the taco. And I can handle spicy. The chips weren't really warm, our waiter seemed to be screwing around. The rest of the wait staff was definitely screwing around. And for 9 on a Friday, that seems a little strange considering it's still a Friday night. Maybe it'd be different if I was sitting on the patio outback, but the music was so loud I couldn't hear the person I was with. They were playing early 2000s love songs like Collide by Howie Day. Which is a good song for a different time and place, not a fajita place. I just don't get it. But I don't plan on going back. read more

Ate her yesterday with a friend and it was fantastic. Clean on the inside nicely decorated and the staff was very nice. We went for lunch and I ordered the carne guisada the need was seasoned nicely and had plenty of onions and other topping to go with it. Although it came out with this little cup that to me looked like it was pure grease but I don't know maybe someone can comment and tell Me what it was. The rice was lacking some flavor I thought but it was decent I ate it. The prices for lunch and even taking a lance at the dinner menu seemed very reasonable even especially for being on the lake I was expecting way more expensive. I am solely writing this review based on the experience we had the moment we walked through the door with the hostess on Tuesday evening 3/16/21 at 9pm. It was three of us including my young niece. We opened the door to see the hostess sweeping the carpet as if she's getting ready to close up or end her shift. She looks at us angrily and shoves the broom against the wall as it then slides onto the floor and she saunters over to the hostess station. She says "3 of y'all" in an extremely rude tone, then rolls her eyes. I said yes we would like to have a drink and sit outside if that's possible. She proceeds to huff and puff and grab some menus and look back at me and says "well we close in an hour so you need to make it fast". My friend looked at me and said "Did that just happen" when she is still within earshot, and I said "yeah that totally just happened", he then replied with "she sounds like she wants to kill you". We sit down, our waiter was Lorenzo, he was amazing I give him five stars. We were there for about 20 minutes max and also two tables were sat after us with six people each, I wonder if she told them they're gonna be closing in 30 minutes so they need to make it fast. Anyhow we had our one drink and we were headed out the door and she comes scampering out the door in an over exaggerated rush and stands on her tiptoes and waves and says "Bye thank you come again" again in a very rude mocking manner. She was short and a petite brunette, couldnt be more than 16 years old. She did not have a name tag on and I asked the waiter as well what her name was and he seemed to act like he doesn't even know they had a hostess. I understand maybe she was ready to go home but there's no need to be rude to customers coming in that are paying for a service. I would not want this person representing my establishment. read more

We were staying at an air bnb close by and the owners recommended this place. OMG - has to be some of the best Tex-Mex I've ever eaten. Fajitas were tender, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The bacon wrapped jalapenos were outstanding - wish I could have eaten more, but got too warm for me. Margaritas were wonderful. I had the Boss - it was great and not made with the usual premade mix. My daughters high school graduation was last weekend and I got to say the general manager Aaron came through!! We looked at Lupe tortilla but they wanted 850.00 for fajitas for 40 people wow. I love Lupe but fajita jacks did them for half I don't want to say exactly but I will say service was amazing and the next day I came back to get more tortillas and chips and he gave them to us for free yes free!!! In a world of no customer service and fees you can't ask for better service than fajita jacks for catering.
