I have been coming here for years with my family and friends and have never had a bad experience, except two TERRIBLE experiences last weekend. 1. My friends and I came on Friday night and had a wait, so we decided to get drinks at the bar. Katelyn M was the one who served us and dang was she RUDE! Look, I've been in this industry for YEARS, I get bad days and it an exhausting job, especially behind a bar. But, there was no excuse for her to be as rude to my friends and I as she was, and she half assed my friend and I's minchiladas, making them 90% beer so it wasn't even a minchilada. She was so rude my coins in change were her tip, and like I said I worked this industry for years and think that is terrible, but that's how rude she was to us. Even the lady next to us apologized for her and offered us her chips because even she was appalled. But, then we got our table, had Quincy (I think I spelled that right) served us and man, was she the BOMB. People like her is why I try to overlook people like Katelyn. My friend and I asked for a manager to come to the table and told them about our bartender Katelyn because we could not get over how mean she was, but said how amazing our server was. 2. I came back for dinner that Sunday. I have an Emotional Support Animal. For those who do not know they are a service dog for people with emotional issues like PTSD or whatever the case may be. She is registered with the State, Country, and through my psychiatrist, so the real deal. I do not always bring her with me because I don't always need to. Sunday I brought her with some friends for our last meal in town that weekend and a friend immediately asked for a table for 3 outside, so my dog wouldn't bother those inside the restaurant. The service asked my friend if she was a service animal and she said no, because she didn't know and technically she is an ESA. We got lead to our table outside and a manager came up and asked if my dog was a service dog with the hostess that sat us down, which I get because it can be abused and confusing since my friend said no before I explained how she was an ESA. I said how she was an ESA and he said they aren't the same thing. Which no they aren't, but they are. I offered to show her identification that she needs, since she had a regular harness on her that is also a seatbelt for the car. The manager then proceeded to try and have me explain to him why I had an Emotional Support Animal anyways!! Which is EXTREMELY rude and personal! And I'm pretty sure people can not just ask that and expect an answer by law. When I said "Um sir that is personal information I do not have to share with you, but I'd love to show you her i.d." he got all rude and walked off after saying "forget about it". I get being questioned and am used to it since I see people abuse the system often, which is why she is trained, calm, and why I carry her identification with me everywhere. But that manager being rude about it and asking rudely about my personal life was not okay because I had an ESA. I usually love this place and when my family want to go to 7 luegas in Conroe, I beg them to go to fajita jacks instead, but after two terrible experiences in one weekend I think I'll just stick to anywhere else in Conroe for a while unless it's to see Quincy (the amazing server I had my 1st bad experience). Might as well take the changing tables out of the bathrooms??? You're second class if you've got kids in your party. Took the family there for lunch. I looked around the main dinning area and saw several open tables. But hostess took us to a separate room off of the entrance, and said that there was no seating available in the main dinning area. I was thinking, I just saw a few that would fit my party of 4, but whatever, maybe they are unstaffed. Then I noticed another party come in right behind us without kids-" can we get a table with a water view?" "Sure thing" says a different hostess. "Right this way." Then another family comes in, and guess where they got seated?!? In the segregated room of course. Surely we are not being discriminated against because we have children with us!?? Then another party comes in, no kids; guess where they got seated- no wait, and in the main room with a view. So I looked around, and confirmed; the room that we are in, no view, is full of families with kids. And no families are seated in the main dinning area with the view. We left, we can get Tex-mex anywhere, and deserve to be treated better. We are not second class because we have kids in our party! read more

We sat in the hot sun waiting for 20 minutes for a server to come help us finally then asked to be moved in the shade, also i have a service dog with me that no one has said anything about. We get moved and a man says "I'm sorry i know you want to be here but your dog can't, mind you it's a SERVICE DOG AND AFTER ALL THIS FRUSTRATION THAT HAS BUILT UP AFTER THIS TERRIBLE SERVICE. Fajita jacks always has great service and the Fajitas are some of the best around . The butter they serve on the side with there fajitas is the best around . The 5 times I have been I have always experienced exceptional service and fresh food . There chips and salsa are fantastic and I always enjoy the free ice cream . There patio has a great atmosphere and a great view of the lake . The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because they are not dog friendly and every time I go out on the lake my dog comes with me . I have never seen a worse restaurant management. A female manager by the name of Bree was so horrible towards employees and rude to customers. I was absolutely shocked by the behavior I witnessed. She was cursing and belittling another female employee about her work performance and physical appearance, which the manager had no room to be talking. The chicken fajitas were excellent, ponies were cooked to perfection, buttery and the peppers cooked perfect as well. Placed order on the phone. It was handled quickly and professionally. Picked it up at the bar. Bartender not very friendly or she seemed put out to get my go order. Hubby ordered the Tacos de Ora, he found it to be exceptionally good. Preferred my refried beans to the charro beans. I had Steakhouse Enchiladas. Yummy and yummy. Loved the presentation and great taste of my meal. Only complaint I had we needed one more of each sauce. Two little cups for two meals was not enough. Very nice location right against the lake. Servers are polite, inside is very clean. Food is bland. Beef fajitas had no seasoning and were very dry. Refried beans had no seasoning, tasted similar to old el paso canned refried beans. Salsa was weak, green sauce tasted cheap like they use a bargain priced mayo. For a place that advertises very heavily on their building how "world famous" their fajitas are, I was extremely disapointed. With all the amazing tex-mex in the houston area there really is no real reason to go here. Side note: I dont drink, but the bar folks looked pretty woozy so maybe thats how they stay in business. read more

I really love this place. Amazing location on lake Conroe and they also have parking for boats. The chips and salsa are always fresh and warm. Great selection of beers and a well stocked bar. The Boss margarita is my favorite and is $6 during happy hour. I got the ultimate fajita plate for 1 which was a mix of chicken steak and jumbo shrimp. A great place to come hangout with the family and spend the afternoon. Will keep coming back. read more

Great food. Hostess all suck. They have no personality and they're all rude- in person and over the phone. They ruined a surprise dinner - which they were told was a surprise. When the guest got there they asked for the reservation and the girls response "i don't know, it's a party in the back. I don't know where they're sitting just go find them". I've gone long enough not saying anything about this place. I only eat here when family is in town and my mom makes us go there because we can access from the lake. Today as usual and I'll never understand we got stuck between the hostess stand and the front door with 11 people in our party alone and 3 other families around us tight space plus people are trying to exit the restaurant. I feel like the restaurant would know they'd likely have more people on weekends but this always happens the layout needs improvement by the front door or put another hostess stand outside. Second issue they were clearly short staffed another common issue I've seen at this location multiple times. Only 6 menus were provided to our table of eleven which had they said we're short menus wouldn't of been that big of a deal but the hostess didn't we shared them. We were sat in the room on the far right with tables accommodating our party and just as many people at neighboring tables but only one waiter was covering 5 tables of at least 30 plus people. We waited awhile just to be able to order drinks and saw how busy he was so we ordered the meals then also. He did an amazing job with the exception of forgetting one drink and our ticket having an additional drink added to it I payed for just to be able to leave. I commend him, but as far as supporting staff and the restaurant never seeming to be prepared and sitting in a prime location on the lake service should always be good and a pleasurable experience the food was okay but I get much better Mexican food in Conroe and way better service. I won't be back unless our family is in town, also when this business doesn't have a lot of patrons they provide super slow service I've visited this particular restaurant at least 10 times and the experiences never leave me wanting to come back. read more

This was absolutely the worst!! We waited about 40 minutes for our table, which was completely as expected and completely understood. The problem was that after we got to our table we waited for o we 20 minutes for someone to come take our drink order and about 10 minutes after we got our table, another family sat right next to us and they had already gotten their order before us. So finally someone came to our table and took our order but got us the wrong family platter and only brought us 3 of the 4 rice and charro beans that were supposed to come with our order. We were expecting much room and cheese, but we instead received what looked like el capitan order instead of el ganadora which btw is cheaper than what we ordered, and yet we were billed for the most expensive one. Fajita Jack's tried to kill me! I'm allergic to avocados, I'm fully aware that I went to a Mexican restaurant that serves this. However, I look over the menu very carefully not to get dishes that contain anything avocados, I also tell the wait staff I'm allergic to them. I make my food oder, everything is going well, our food comes out. I start mixing the cheese and ingredients around and get a few bites in my lips start itching and my throat starts to tickle. My mother get a concerned look and I realize what's happening. I went looking more into the dish there they were chunks of avocado. Thankfully I got some Benadryl and I'm crazy swollen, I'll be okay in a few days, but if your allergies are more severe than mine, you might want to avoid this mexican place. The management showed no real concern. I guess they might have had I left in an ambulance, anyway just wanted to warn other's with allergies. read more

UPDATE: I want to give KUDOS to Fajita Jacks for them going above and beyond to accommodate my husband's celebration of life yesterday. From Javier to the waiter who assisted us, I extend our heartfelt appreciation and thanks. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the patio and our food was outstanding. Anyone who knows me, appreciates that we are very harsh critics of restaurants in this area being rated 4 and 5 star meals "for the area" which is a supremely low bar to meet. This meal was truly worthy of high ratings by any measure and not just "for the area." We typically travel outside the area to dine; I'm happy that today, we didn't. We ordered the guacamole, which was perfectly seasoned and presently beautifully in a molcajete. We all eat with our "eyes" first so this was the perfect start our meals. We also ordered the pork fajitas which were accompanied by beautifully charred grilled Pineapple and some seriously delicious and very rustic corn tortillas. I ordered a combo of both the chicken and the brisket empanadas as a meal, which were also delicious. They were quite large and I shared one with my bro-in-law (who loved it), ate one myself and brought the 3rd one home for a yummy lunch. Others in our party ordered the street tacos and an enchilada plate. Everyone enjoyed their meals...not to mention their delish margaritas. Fajita Jacks is a great venue on the water for any occasion. We believe they have reasonable prices for the amount of food and their wait staff has always been top notch. PREVIOUS REVIEW: We had the absolute pleasure to enjoy brunch at Fajita Jacks this morning. The ceviche was a DELICIOUS and refreshing mixture of flakey fish, shrimp, mango & other fresh ingredients. It is quite a large portion and can be shared by 4 people at a very reasonable price! Their chips were fresh and their salsas were very tasty. We all ordered from the brunch menu and all of our meals were great! I had the French toast which they really should amend on the menu IMO as it is fabulous! It is two large rolls of French bread that had a pillowy texture unlike any French toast I have ever had. . . anywhere. . . Not just in the area. They were very light and covered with a cinnamon/brown sugar dusting and served with whipped cream on the side and a strawberry cut to look like a flower. My sister, who doesn't even like French toast, thought it was superb! Do yourself a favor and order extra whip cream and another strawberry and you will have the perfect amount for the two pieces. It is a great plate for sharing; or even better for one to take home! The rest of our party all ordered Chilaquiles and everyone thought they were outstanding, as well. Surprisingly, the dish didn't feel heavy at all. The entire group believed that they would benefit from some extra tomatilla sauce over the top but still loved the dish. They each used salsa and/or green sauce to top it off and wiped out their plates! In my opinion, this dish is easily shared by two. On a final note, I have to also compliment Fajita Jacks on the napkins they provided with our brunch which were very high quality and large. It is small touches such as this that make a dining experience even better! We have never dined here off of their regular menu but look forward to returning soon to try it out. This is a good place for Conroe. We spent the day on the lake and wanted some good food. It wasn't super spectacular but the food was overall tolerable. If you aren't starving, might be worth to wait he extra 30 minutes down the road to the next place. read more

We just went to Fajita Jacks. We were told the wait would be 15 minutes. 30 minutes after being there, I went to the host stand and was told we were next. After about 4 families were seated, I went up to get the status of our table for the second time. When I said I thought we were next the hostess said that the manager was basically seating whoever she wanted it didn't matter how long you had been waiting. Unbelievable!!! I've been going to Fajita Jacks since it was located where 7 Leguas is and have always enjoyed it. There was a brief period for maybe 1 1/2 years when the the quality of food and taste of their margaritas declined but that has long been corrected. I'm glad their staffing woes are slowly being corrected but we still need to be patient with all restaurants during this time. On Father's Day, we went to Fajita Jacks and was fortunate to have the best server I believe I've ever had there. Her name is Makayla and she was so professional and thorough, I thought she'd probably been there for some time. It turned out that not only was she relatively new to FJ (1 month), but it was her first job as a server! We were so impressed, I told the manager on my way out that if I owned a restaurant, I'd steal her away. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot but you might want to request her the next time you go in. I know I will. By the way, the food and margaritas were excellent too. read more

Here on a Friday at 7pm, so obviously a wait - no biggie. We were quoted 20-30 minute wait and were sat within 25 minutes on the patio. We were greeted by Isabella as our server and things have been amazing since. We could see from afar that she was swamped and overwhelmed, but when talking to us you could never tell. She has had a smile on her face the entire time we have been here and has not skipped a beat in taking care of us. Food and drinks have arrived less than on time and perfectly. False hope can be the cruelest thing and this is that. The only Tex-mex on the lake :-/ The salsa green/red is the best they have to offer. No offense but the food is trash. I always get the half order of the beef fajita nachos and they are awesome! They also give you an extra side of chips with 2 kinds of salsa which are really good too, the green salsa is my favorite. I'm giving it 3 starts because last time I went I waited at the bar for 10 minutes until someone asked me if I had been helped and I said no. He then went and got the person that took my order and check if it was ready. I counted 5 servers walk by and not say a word to me.
