The food was so mid. I ordered burrito for lunch mind you said lunch ended at 2:30. The man comes up. I ordered it and he says oh because it's after lunch you have to pay extra. Mind you it's only 1:30. No comes and it looks questionable. I take a bite and it taste like school lunch. I took a closer look at the sun and I tasted it after my cousin said it looks like marinara sauce. In fact was marinara sauce. I ordered a cherry Coke thinking it was 299 like the other drinks. It was 3.50. I didn't realize that the cherry sodas cost more so this was my fault. The beans and rice are all right mid. Met a friend here for lunch after doing volunteer work in the area. It resides near the railroad tracks in the middle of a small strip of buildings. Almost reminded me of a small western town. Parking wasn't plenty nearby but there is parking all along the strip. The inside is not that large and consists of mostly booths (with wooden seats). Big enough for maybe 35 people to eat in. For the tiny space, they make up for it with big portions of everything. My friend ordered a skinny Margarita and it was the biggest one I had ever seen. Humongous skinny Margarita. And the way the waitress described the size of it prior to it coming had us both cracking up, bc we were confused until IT came. I had a big Corona for my drink. The chips/salsa were so-so. My meal, chicken quesadillas, was HUGE but overall just so-so. They coated it with melted cheese and overloaded it with onions. It could've used less of all that, and just lots of pico/sour cream. My friend seemed to enjoy her meal. No complaints on the visit. Very much a hole-in-the-wall type of place with large portions and ok food. Come here for the drinks, if anything. read more

This is our go to Mexican restaurant. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The food is always good, fresh and authentic. They do a pretty good job of to go orders as well. They have only left one thing out of our orders over the last half dozen or so. However, they corrected the issue with a quick phone call so all was well. The cheesy chorizo dip was amazing--we devoured it! The appetizer nachos were large. The chicken soup (chicken-tortilla style soup) was hearty and tasty (just needed to be hotter in temperature which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) and I'd get that again any day (I highly recommend). The specialty burritos were so good that my friends kept raving how good it was. They cleaned their plates so well that you could easily mistake their plates for clean ones. usually I get my order right and the food is good but Saturday Jan 19,2019 I called in my order. When I went in to get my order the lady told me to hold that she will be with me in a moment. Their must have been a group because she was cleaning off the tables pushed together. When... she was finished clearing the tables off she then came to the cash register for me to pay for my to go order that was already bagged waiting on me at the register. When I got back home with my order I didn't have salsa for my chips. I order steak tacos with cilantro, onions, salsa, corn tortilla. I got flour tortilla not corn. It was not good and maybe that is because I don't care for flour tortilla but please ask them to check the to go orders. That was a waste of my money read more

After many weeks of prodding the wife, we finally were able to try Fajita Mex Grill in Statham, GA. We are loyal patrons of La Parilla in Watkinsville, but eating the same thing year after year can take its toll. I have to change up my flavor palate every once in a while so things don't get old. I was pleasantly surprised by this quaint little restaurant. It is very clean and well maintained as you can tell when you walk in. The staff were all very attentive and nice. My first test when I go to a new place is whether or not the salsa is good. I am sort of a chips and salsa addict. The salsa was very good and not to over powering with cilantro and a hint of sweetness. The cheese dip was also good. Your are given the option of getting it with Jalapeno's or not. This was very appealing to my wife, because she doesn't like things very spicy. I got the mixed fajitas and my wife got the chimichanga meal. Both dishes arrived hot and were devoured immediately. Very tasty!! The only minus I can say for them is that they do not presently serve alcohol. Not a big deal for us, we rarely drink. For some people, i know they like that margarita with their food. Great Mexican in Statham! I ran in here for a quick weekday dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. The place is very clean and service was friendly. I got the shrimp chipotle and it was excellent. The steak quesadilla was great as well. There are not many options in Statham so I hope this place makes it. Only downside is they do not serve beer. Hoping that will change soon!! read more

Our first visit with the family. Extremely disappointing service and mediocre food. First meal delivered was the fajitas. No tortillas! Finally asked and they were brought to the table after the fajitas were cold. 3 steak tacos wrapped in foil for the next diner. Barely warm and the tops of the flour tortillas were dry and crunchy. After we finished eating the last meal was delivered to the table. No idea if that was the server or the cook that made that mistake but we learned a valuable lesson....if this is the only place open in town keep going to Athens or Winder...this was a miserable failure and unfortunately we won't be back! read more

Adequate mexican food. Have had good service in the past. Owner took our order. One of us ordered "Veggie Taco" and got a totally different, more expensive entree. We immediately told the owner and tried to give it back. Owner told us to keep it and the Taco would be out in 15 minutes. My friend said, "Don't worry, I'll just eat this. He ate maybe a quarter of the food he didn't order. I assumed that would not charge him for his meal. I was told that he had cancelled his order and he had accepted the random food that they served him. We were told that they took the Taco he ordered off our bill. We were charged for the more expensive entree. Will spend another 10 minutes in the car and eat at the much better "Smokee Gringo" in Winder next time. We have never had a problem while eating at the restaurant, other than extremely slow service, but every time we place an order for pick up, they get it wrong. We always just let it go because it wasn't messed up very bad. Today, I called in the order and the lady read it back to me twice so I know she wrote it down right. When we got the food back to our office there was not one item that was right. We called them and told them that we are coming back so they can make it right and when we got there, they tried to charge us again. This is a $47 order that THEY got wrong and then they want to charge again!?!?!? That did not happen. We got the food and will NEVER eat there again and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. After we got back to the office, we noticed that they put jalapeno peppers on the tacos!!! My co-worker is considering a law suit because she is allergic to them. That is why we placed the order with specific instructions. Luckily it was noticed before she ate it. That was done on purpose because they never put peppers on the tacos. I really hope she goes through with the law suit. I used to eat there a lot with my husband but we wont be doing that again. I do not give my money to people that are incompetent, rude and spiteful. THIS COULD HAVE KILLED HER. It isn't hard to get the order right and you should always be polite to the paying customer. They have lost a lot of business. We eat there a lot and every time we do, it is a large order. You may be ok if you eat there but don't ever order carry out. read more

Their ground beef taco was way salty, it's inedible. I ordered queso blanco with jalapeño, but they didn't include the jalapeño but charged me extra for it. The food was outstanding as was the service. This was the first time my wife and I had been there and we will definitely go back. The restaurant was clean and the prices reasonable.
