The fries on the other hand, were awful. They were cold, hard and tasted stale like they had been sitting for a long time. The food was incredibly uninspired. The gyro meat was processed patties not carved. The chicken had way too much curry in it. The rice was undercooked and dense. The salad was one inch thick cuts wedges of tomato and cucumber and onions uneatable. The salad was shuffled into the plate like toppings for a sandwich. The falafel were weird dark yellow color not bright fluffy green and falling apart. Everything about it screamed that it was something you bought at a grocery store as frozen food or in a counter section. No actual skill used to make this food. Welp....hate to be the barer of bad news but their sanitation factors were a no go for me. Only one person working. I paid with cash. He then put gloves on without washing his hands, so he contaminated the gloves. He then starts cooking with the contaminated gloves, steps away and types on the their POS system with the same damn gloves, then goes back to cooking. With the whole Covid-19 situation going on, restaurants need to be mindful of sanitation and all cleanliness factors. This is not acceptable. Grand opening this weekend - what a rough time to make a go of it. As a vegetarian, I judge a schwarma/gyro place on...you guessed it, their falafel. Falafel Corner's falafel platter is super generous on portions and delicious! One of my biggest pet peeves is when falafel is dry - these were moist and fresh from the fryer. The chicken is very moist and overall the gyro was very tasty. The tzatziki sauce was a bit 'peppery' for me, but still was good. Staff here was really nice and it was super clean. First time ordering from here. I used a delivery service, so don't know what it's like inside, but WOW!!! The food is top-notch! The Gyro wrap is nearly twice as big as competitors', and it's by far the best. The meat is super tender and perfectly seasoned. The veggies were super fresh, the pita soft, and their tzatziki is insanely good, with lots of dill. Also had the Dolma, which were excellent, and also a very generous portion (7 pcs.) with fresh cucumber slices and more of that fantastic tzatziki on a nice bed of shredded lettuce. Curly fries were perfect. This is the only place in the area (out of 3 or so that I've tried in the Rocklin/Roseville area) that has Falafel that I like. All others are dry and mealy, with pretty bland seasoning. The Falafel here are seasoned with a lot of parsley and probably some other green veg (green onion?), and I'm sure some other spices. They are nicely fried on the outside, but the inside is still soft and a little creamy. Yay! It appears that Falafel Corner just recently opened within the last month. What an absolutely brutal time to open a restaurant! Go there. Get takeout or delivery. You won't be disappointed, you'll be beyond satisfied and delighted. Next time I'll post some photos. Once I started tasting the food, I couldn't stop eating it. lol read more
