Order at the counter then sit down. I tried the Chicken Pomegranate Platter and Falafel Platter. The chicken was very flavorful and I haven't had anything similar. I'm basing my five stars on this dish alone. The falafel was not the best in my opinion; if I had only tried this my rating would be a 3/4. I'd definitely skip the falafels in the future. Everything we tried was delicious! The chicken kabobs were good and my kiddos loved the hummus and rice.

First time here and it did not disappoint. We drove from Elk Grove to try because of the top reviews. The rice under the chicken shawarma glazed with pomegranate sauce was so soft and fluffy, the chicken is on the sweet side but I loved it and I topped with hot sauce and tzatziki from my veggie sampler so delicious! High quality ingredients. Hummus fresh flavorful, dolma was perfect. My husband had the lamb gyro and he ate it and enjoyed every bite. I don't think he spoke while eating it. Haha We also took home baklava, delicate and light with a touch of sweetness. I cannot wait to go back. My favorite restaurant in Folsom! It worked perfectly for our family since two are vegans. I had the Chicken Shawarma with Pomegranate plate & it was incredible, with lean pieces of chicken breast, infused with a lovely pomegranate shawarma marinade. The rice was very flavorful as well, and was embedded in the savory sauce. My daughter got the falafel plate, my other daughter got the falafel wrap (it's a bit smaller than it used to be), Lebanese pickles, and lentil soup. They both really liked their dishes. The family ordered from Zest to feed about 15 people for an Easter and birthday combo celebration, and it was a great choice. Everything tasted wonderful. We had three different meats for the kabobs, a full tray of salad, hummus, garlic sauce, tzatziki, pita, rice, and baklava. There was plenty of food and a few people even took leftovers home, which says a lot for a party crowd. If it tasted this good after transport, sitting for a bit, and a little reheating, I can only imagine how amazing it must be fresh at the restaurant. A few weeks ago, I ordered the lamb kabob plate $23.99 to go which is my usual order. But the lamb pieces were tough. Chewy. Each piece was like that. Ohhh what happened?!? My previous orders had tender and moist, flavorful cuts. So it seems they need to work on consistency. Not sure if the cuts were properly butchered against the grain to get the most tender cuts. The plate came with side plate of Mediterranean salad, hummus, bread and rice pilaf. All of that was delicious and visually beautiful. The salad was a a good serving size with fresh ingredients and topped with a touch of sumac. Yes. The dressing was darn delicious. The hummus was fantastic. The pilaf was light and fluffy, flavorful. The tzatziki was refreshing and served chilled. The pita bread was super thin and flat. Different take from most other eateries. The interior is clean but not giving off modern vibes. Basic interior. Zest is a fabulous little Mediterranean joint in a Folsom shopping plaza- it is quite easy to miss due to its location, but the food is an absolute must-have! They are vegan and vegetarian friendly, with a meal selection comparable to that of the "typical" Mediterranean menu. My friends had the chicken plate and lamb/ beef gyro and absolutely loved it. Being a vegetarian, I was partial to their delicious falafel wrap but I won't lie... that chicken did smell quite good. Hah! The French fries were also crispy and golden with just enough salt to satisfy that savory craving. Fresh veggies, as well. So many spices and tastes. Delicious! The service is also excellent. The cashiers and cooks are fast, skilled, and kind. Very friendly people who know how to make a real good Mediterranean plate. I am honestly not sure how the owner(s) are not embarrassed by the portion sizes of the beef shawarma and falafel wraps, and for how much they have them priced. The wraps are snack sized and tiny. Inside was clean and all the tables were empty. The food portion is definitely not worth the price. The greater Sacramento area has many more places worth going that will provide a good portion at a reasonable price. Everything was included in my combo plate of beef kabobs and pomegranate chicken. I deducted one star because, for my preference, I was not a fan of the quality of meat they used (especially when this plate is $25+ after tax and tip). We each ordered a Vegan Sampler plate. Tip: If you aren't a huge eater, it's a lot. Really, a lot. We could easily have shared one, and that would have been enough, or at most added a side of falafel or Mosakaa. But that didn't stop us from eating every last bit of each of ours. Each one was served with 8 quarter-pieces of pita, which again shows it's easily divided by two people. Unfortunately, we did each leave some pita behind, because that was just too much. Lebanese Mosakaa (Moussaka) and falafels were my favorites. The baba ghanouj (Ganoush) was also good, but as with most I've had, the smoky flavor felt a bit too much for me (but, I assume, authentic). Dolmas are not my favorite food, so I'm not a good judge of their quality. They were ok, but too oily for me (but again, based on what I've read, that's the way they are supposed to be). My husband liked the hummus and tabbouleh salad better than I did, but that's again because I just never find them all that appealing. One criticism my husband had was he found a couple of the dishes overly salty, but he's more sensitive to that than most people. Service was very prompt (promised ten minutes, came in five), and friendly. They had a lot of takeout orders, but only one other table was ever in use on the day we were there.
