I must say that this location has changed my opinion of the restaurant after a poor encounter at another location. This location was much better and their staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a large location and who wouldn't want to grab a bite here and then find a seat at the beautiful waterfront. I ordered the falafel bowl with a side of hummus. Let's just say that for $5 that bowl was extremely generous in quantity and the fresh quality of each item was AMAZING! I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl. The side of hummus was sinfully good! Hey friends! I needed a quick bite for lunch while working at the Wharf. I tried Falafel Inc. last year as a check-in treat from Yelp MDBurbs. I really enjoyed it then unfortunately not so much this time. The fries were not as I remember, they had a distasteful tarte aftertaste. The falafel sandwich was lukewarm and the toppings were cold(of course). If the falafel was hot the balance of cold toppings would've been manageable. Food Always love stopping into this place because it is reasonably priced and always in a good location. They have the different sauces that you can get on the side and make it easy to get takeout. The falafel is perfectly crispy and a good mix for the fresh vegetables in the sandwich. Our chicken rice bowls and all six sauces were delicious, and the drink selection included a lemon mint Schweppes I'd never seen before (yum!). We went during lunch hour, and the restaurant was unsurprisingly loud and crowded, but orders were processed quickly and the partially shaded forecourt provided a cool place to eat. One stumbling point: my friend asked for his bowl with no cilantro. When our number was called, we were handed the two (unmarked) bowls with no explanation. I asked which had no cilantro and was told they were the same. After clarifying, instead of a minor disappointment for me, this meant both bowls had cilantro. They offered to remake his bowl but were neither friendly nor apologetic about this clear flub of a very common modification, which took us aback. The only thing to account for is that they move a bit slow when they're busy. It seems like they take orders for a group of people, stop to make those orders, and then take orders for the next group. I don't think this place gets the praise it deserves! I truly love Falafel Inc. The food is always as tasty and fresh, it's one of the best fast casual food chains from DMV and one of my favorite plant based options available (without breaking my wallet!). I went last Friday before a punk-rock concert and this truly powered me to last until midnight. By far The Wharf location is one of my favorites since it's nearby The Anthem, so getting early is just an excuse to get dinner here! The service is fast and the place is always clean, I wish they had a bigger space inside to comfortably add all their sauces in little plastic containers without spilling them on my clothes Everything I've had here is always good! Love their briny Levantine pickled veggies and purple cabbage slaw! I usually order their Falafel Salad bowl, but pay extra to get the plant based meat shawarma! It's truly one of the places that their vegan shawarma reminds me to the OG version! To be honest you don't even need any of the sauces because the protein is already marinated beautifully with the Lebanese 7-spices that we all love from shawarma! I add a side of falafel because I do enjoy the texture of their falafel! This is one of my go to's and will continue to be! Love their falafel sandwich (with pickles!) and fries. Appreciate you can try different sauces to dip your fries or add to your sandwich or bowls. Only reason they didn't get a 5 star on this last visit was how long it took to get our order. It was a Saturday night, so we did mobile ordering and pickup. It said it would be ready within 3-15 minutes. I arrived 12 min after our order was placed. They were quite busy - and seemed the two employees working were a bit overwhelmed. There were a few people waiting for food, a line to order, they were out of containers for sauces, and some of the sauces were empty. I ended up waiting for an extra 25 minutes until I asked to check on an order - it was apparent from their reaction, our order got lost in the shuffle. Once they realized, they made it right away, which was appreciated. However, they grabbed a bag of fries that had been sitting on the counter since I walked in - so they were cold. Good thing - they do great in the air fryer! I've never experienced these issues before and it won't stop me from returning, definitely felt like a bit of an off night for them. This location has just opened up off the wharf. Now I was walking around the wharf, taking everything in to figure out where to have some lunch or figure out what activities were available. A lot of restaurants had some lunch specials going, but they were sit down and I wanted to keep walking and taking everything in and I was planning on actually just walking back to the L'Enfant Plaza since there were a lot of little places to grab and go there. That's when I spotted falafel Inc. I promise to be the best falafel you've ever had and going into the space. I could already smell the falafel off the street. It smelled great. The spot looked very new. It was just a little storefront. There's not really a lot of seating. They take orders at the counter and they're very prompt and quick. There's not a lot of options which actually make it easier for you as a vegetarian. I was impressed to see falafel options that were different because there was a falafel sandwich, falafel, rice bowl and also a vegan protein if you were so inclined, I ended up getting a falafel rice bowl and I waited for a little bit to get my food. While I was waiting, I noticed that there were six different sauces. Available to accompany your meal. They had little containers to help you save them as well once I got my meal and I actually drizzled three of the sauces on top of the meal itself. The red sauce and green sauce were amazing. The rice bowl was well cooked with a variety of vegetables and hot falafel on top of it. It was delicious. I had it on the wharf while watching the boats and water. This particular location is in the Wharf. There aren't any tables inside, but there is a narrow long standing table. Their menu is simple, but they do offer a salad option, wraps, and fries in addition to their famous falafel sandwich. Made plans to visit here particularly because they help refugees with their proceeds. Got the Plant Rice Bowl without the Pali Salad (since I am avoiding tomatoes), but it was still delicious with their plant-based/vegan shawarma. Good portion of the shawarma, too, so it was nice and filling. But the star of our visit was the za'atar fries. Oh my goodness, they were so good. The fried were fresh out of the fryer, so they were light and crispy, and generously tossed in the za'atar spice mixture bursting with flavor. I could have eaten my weight in these fries. The za'atar fries were delicious by themselves but they also went really well with the sauces that they have at the side near the door. I appreciate that they had three vegan sauces (garlic, red and Mazbout - the garlic might have been my favorite) (along with three more non-vegan sauces) and they were great additions to the fries and I'm sure whatever bowl or wrap that you get. Every time I come to visit my friend who lives by the wharf, our first or second meal is here. The service is quick, friendly, and professional. But the food is the reason we come here. My friend is vegetarian, but I'm not. Here is a place she can eat without having to get just a salad. She does get a falafel salad or sandwich and is able to add the delicious sauces to make it to her taste. I usually get the chicken salad and add the garlic sauce or tahini or both. I can experiment with different flavors when I feel adventurous, too. Then we take the food outside and sit by the wharf or in the courtyard at a table. It's perfect! It's always a great experience at Falafel Inc, but today was exceptional. The staff greeted me as soon as I walked in, and the service was fast and friendly! They started carrying humanely sourced chicken and today I treated myself to their chicken and rice bowl. It is so flavorful, fresh, and delicious! Their sauces are truly second to none and really complement the chicken in this dish. It's also a slam dunk that this company gives back by donating to the World Food Programme feeding refugees. I really love the mission of Falafel, Inc. to help feed refugees with every purchase. It's really refreshing to see an owner dedicated to keeping prices affordable, but also contributing a portion of the proceeds to help others, rather than lining their pockets. Over the course of the week in DC, I had Falafel, Inc twice. The first time, I got the falafel sandwich, which was good, but far from the best falafel I've ever had. The falafel were very small, not very crispy on the outside, and inside was a bit mushy. These are definitely not fried to order, which I understand would be hard to do given the volume of orders this place does. The flavor of the falafel was good but it just didn't check all the boxes for me texture-wise. The pita, salads, and sauces were all delicious, though I would've liked a higher falafel to salad ratio. I really enjoyed the green sauce with the falafel sandwich. Overall, decent and for $6, I can't imagine eating as good anywhere else. This food far exceeds the quality of fast food, but at the same prices. I also tried the chicken rice bowl on another day. I figured it would be Halal Guys-like and it was more or less the same layout, but nowhere near the same quality (and twice the price as the falafel sandwich, at $12). The rice was very plain and simple and didn't have a lot of flavor on its own, but the worse part was the amount of chicken, which was scant at best. My best guess is that there is around 2-2.5oz of chicken in this bowl. The chicken was flavorful and not dry, which was great, but there was so little of it, I felt most of the time I was just eating salad, rice, and sauce. My advice: stick to the $6 falafel sandwich and skip the chicken rice bowl. Instead, grab a bowl from Halal Guys. It doesn't cost much more ($13 vs. $12 at Falafel, Inc.) and the sauces were better (IMHO). I would definitely go again, especially considering the price of the falafel sandwich and the contributions being made to feed refugees, but I'm sticking with the falafel sandwich. read more

Wow! This place had some phenomenal food for such cheap prices!! I was very impressed and I'd highly recommend this place I got a shawarma sandwich, zaatar fries and some baklava. The sandwich was delicious and the sauces were super good. If I go again I'd probably try a bowl though (with some falafel). The vegan meat in the sandwich was decent but definitely wasn't real meat. The baklava was ok (I've had better) and the zaatar fries were good but I'd probably skip these next time. As I picked up my food, I asked, "Oh, quick question, would it be possible for me to get a cup of water please?" and the guy at the counter just looked at me with a deliberate sneer and said "NO." Not, "Sorry, no," or "We actually have a policy where we don't give out water," or anything like that. Just "NO" in a forceful voice, then he walked away. Pretty scummy. As for the food: the fries were alright, but the falafels were somehow both soggy and dry at the same time and the "hummus" was some kind of liquid that turned into a swamp at the bottom of the bowl, which was 90% raw spinach (maybe they ran out of other ingredients?). Menu is simple with only 5 options ranging from a Falafel Sandwich or Bowl, plus Zatar fries. There's only standing room inside; so this is more of a grab and go. There's a standing area outside with "tables" made from metal drums. The zatar fries are French fries with a seasoning (middle eastern style). They have 6 different sauces at a condiment bar. I looked up at the menu and to my surprise the prices of the food options were quite affordable. I opted to go with the falafel bowl and m'lady went with the falafel sandwich, which were both under $10 each! We also split a healthy sized bag of zaatar fries and I could not resist getting their baklava. The food service was very quick and the employees were very friendly. After obtaining our food we went to their outdoor eating area where we stood and prepared ourselves to feast. Both the falafel sandwich and bowl were filled to the brim with falafel, cabbage, pickles, tomatoes, cucumber, and a substantial serving of tahini. We also had the privilege of being able to help ourselves to extra sauces, which included garlic sauce (toum), red sauce, white sauce, habibi sauce, and more tahini. After taking a few bites of the food, we knew we had made a great decision coming to this location. Dipping the zaatar fries into the garlic sauce became second nature, as the combination was truly delicious. The cherry on the top was their baklava that came in a small, sliding cardboard box.
