Love the menu concept here but everything just kept me wanting it to be a little better. Every sandwich represents the flavors of a different city across the world. On paper the sandwiches are packed with flavor and toppings, sadly both sandwiches I've tried here have had overcooked proteins and came off very bland. The sandwiches are large and could suffice as two meals but other than that it was just underwhelming. read more

Stellar stellar sandwiches. Some of the best I've had. Well worth the walk. Their sides are fun too, I got the curried potato salad which was addicting. Friend got the picked veg which he liked but honestly I was like nooo thanks. Sandwiches- the three of us got - 1. the Athens: great meat flavor, fresh vegs, wish there was a bit more distinct flavor. 2. Seoul: star of the group, so flavorful and fun! Saucy and rich. Lots of meat. 3. Buenos Aires: probably least memorable of the bunch. Can I say these sandwiches were SO friggin huge!!! For the price it's fair. Was in a food coma but again so worth it. Come out! Sandwiches take a minute to make probably because everything is freshly made to order. There was a small line but do it!!! Super excellent. The three of us had sandwiches and a couple sides and drinks and I'm pretty sure it was around $80. read more

You walk in and there's no counter, no staff. You have to order on your phone or on one of the kiosks. I guess the only people working there are in the kitchen. It took 15 mins for them to make my sandwich, which was the Havana. It was just okay. read more

I ordered the Seoul which has slices of tender and sweet bulgogi, mixed greens, kimchi and garlic mayo. It was incredibly delicious! My fiance ordered the Buenos Aires. He said it was a bit on the dry side even with the added egg. I had a bite of his sandwich and I did enjoy the steak and chimichurri. He suggested that the steak and chimichurri be mixed together instead of the sauce just spread onto the bread. Overall a great place to pick up a quick and delicious lunch! read more

This is/was one of my GO TO places. Huge and amazing sandwiches, with seriously great meats. Quality is great! Sadly something is now broken. Used to be you ordered online and was ALWAYS ready on time. Often even early. Sometime starting about January 2025 it went south. Now seems like sandwich is 20+ minutes late 4 out of 5 times. Either you start asking about sandwich when it's five minutes late (understandably annoying to counter guy) or you wait 20 minutes and THEN start asking. Lose-lose. I'm praying the staffing issue (?) gets solved. read more

Mixed man that works in the front is incredibly rude and doesn't act like he wants to help people. On top of that I ordered a sandwich and they gave me a salad, when I told him I got the wrong order he acted like I was bothering him. I came because there were good reviews, but never again after the unprofessional service. read more

I've given Sundevich a few chances now and I honestly don't see what the hype is about. Yes, their sandwiches are enormous, but they cost close to $20, so I'd hope that would be the case. Each one I've tried has been not that great. I went with the Lima today and had to throw most of it away because it was so overloaded with mayo, which added to the greasy, flavorless chicken made the sandwich inedible. If you're looking for a fresh, flavorful sandwich, this is not your place. read more

This hole in the wall has a wide variety of really tasty around the world themed sandwiches. I opted for the Seoul sandwich, consisting of marinated bulgogi beef, pickled veggies, lettuce and garlic mayo on a french roll. I ordered the Milan sandwich and it was to die for - one of the best sandwiches I have had in ages. Gave me regular breakfast sandwich vibes with the pancetta being fried crispy, and the arugula, garlic aioli, and gorgonzola took it to the next level. I loved that the gorgonzola was added in the crease of the loaf so that bites on the right side had it and bites on the left were lighter without - a perfect balance. Eggs were cooked nicely and the loaf itself was sooooo soft. No scratching the roof of your mouth. 10/10 and would 100% order the Milan again - perfect brunchy sandwich for a person like me who can't go a day without breakfast but is heading to the shop around noon! read more

Very large sandwiches - one could easily feed 2. I really appreciated how eclectic the menu is; something for everyone. We ordered two steak sandwiches, forget the names, but both were fresh and delicious. This is a great spot for a quick bite. Pro tip: order online. We ordered upon arrival and the wait was very long. Lots of to go orders streaming in that came in before ours. There are serviceable high top tables to sit at, but best for takeout. Enjoy it on a bench outside when the weather is nice. read more

Checking out my new workplace local shops and found Sundevich. Tried the Kingston sandwich and it was fire. Fresh ingredients, excellent seasoning, and super soft bread. A bit pricy for a regular lunch spot, but one sandwich could easily feed two people. Nice decor, and hardworking staff. I walked in and the way the shop is set up is the counter is a small corner and no one was at it. I assumed it was more of a QR code sort of vibe, so I found the QR codes but couldn't get them to work on my phone. I went to the counter but there were signs "Don't bother the people expediting on the line", so I just waited. A guy helped me pretty quickly although service was middling. I got the Seoul Sandwich and the potato salad on the side. The sandwich was a little bland for my taste, kimchi wasn't spicy in classic kimchi style and I ate it and it was super filling and huge-but just didn't blow me away. I've been going to Sundevich for years. Tasty sandwiches that seem to be pricy but they are fairly big. Great for sharing or eating alone. My favorite is the Seoul sandwich but the Athens sandwich with lamb is also delicious. The bread is always soft and the toppings are fresh. It's a casual and chill place to eat during lunch. I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I was looking for a lunch spot near Union Station. I really liked the concept of international sandwiches. The reviews were really high so I admit I had high expectations. The sandwiches were still better than I expected! I ordered the Athens (lamb, onion, tomato, greens, tzatziki) and the Buenos Aires (steak, onions, chimichurri). The fresh bread was amazing, soft but still had a good chew. The ingredients were fresh and there's a lot of filling. There was a lot of seating if you want to dine-in. I would definitely come back and try the Seoul (bulgogi beef, kimchi, Asian slaw, greens garlic mayo) or the Kingston (jerk chicken, pineapple salsa, spicy slaw, greens, garlic mayo). I wish they would open a location in NYC where I live! read more

Worth the pretty penny for sure, I mentioned to the guy behind the register - You need to open up a shop in NYC. For $14-$16 per hoagie, sub, sammich, whatever you want to call it it's comparable to one in which you get at a local Italian sandwich joint which might overwhelm you with different options with toppings. Sure at SUNdeVICH you'll find the "Roma" which is probably the easiest one that was conceptualized. The other's - not so much. In the mind of a chef, you have to be somewhat well travelled to know all the flavors you're presenting and they have familiarized themselves with them well - and well enough to create a sustainable menu (I hope) to have different condiments in various sandwiches - ie garlic mayo, or a pesto that is found in different parts of the world. Picked up two sandwiches and my only regrets were not having one to be a salad (I really should lose some weight), and not knowing there were Sides (rear menu). I'm 90% sure I'll be back here next time I'm in DC. read more

Solid spot to grab lunch. SUPER tasty! More of a pickup spot in my opinion - there's only long bar stool seating and no outdoor seating, hence the 4 stars. Also quite pricey. I got a sandwich and chips and it was more than $20 (without tip), which feels a little much to me, even for DC. Decent and HUGE sub sandwiches. Almost overwhelming with the choices, but definitely fun to see all the diverse flavors from a bunch of different countries. The bread is soft, but crunchy! I enjoyed the Seoul the most since it was so flavorful. The Mexico City and Kingston were not bad, but both need more flavor or sauce. Maybe more spicy would be nice too. read more

There is nothing good about these sandwiches. To me, they are a level below Potbelly sandwiches. Mine took inordinately long to make because it looks like this restaurant is designed for take out food apps and take out in general. It's not really a good vibe for sitting there and eating if you are wondering. I am still regretting this sandwich two hours later. read more

Cilantro and lemon aioli on a club? I would have never thought of that combination, but it works. Between those flavors and the high quality bacon they use, every bite hit exactly how it needed to. Truly impressive. I ordered through the kiosk, so I can't really comment much on customer service. They just called my name when it was ready, and everything ran smoothly, so no issues there. I am already planning my return because that buffalo caesar wrap is calling my name next. If it tastes anything like that turkey club, I already know I'll be back again.

I knew I wanted a burger but was struggling with choosing which one. Hubs knew he wanted the Cheesesteak and knew I wanted fries. I went with the Smokehouse burger. We grabbed a seat and did not wait long for our food to come out. I really enjoyed my burger and scarfed it down! I paid for sauces, which were tiny and super overpriced. Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. I think the prices were pretty steep so I might skip on the fries next time. The food could have been warmer as well. Definitely worth a visit and will most likely be back when in DC again.
