First time here at Falafel King despite being a student for a while now. There's a couple tables outside and a few bar and table seats inside - overall small though. The prices are really affordable and food is made very quick. It's a small mom and pop local restaurant but definitely very popular with students. I got a shawarma platter and stuffed grape leaves and edamame for my 2 sides. The shawarma tasted really good and came with an orange sauce(?) not sure what it was though. There was a bed of lettuce, cucumber, and a few other veggies. The stuffed grape leaves was cold and had a grainy hard texture inside. I wasn't a huge fan, maybe because the only other stuffed grape leaves were made from my friends parents with their family recipe. The edamame tasted kinda old, very flimsy outer layer. I got a pistachio baklava (1 for $1, 3 for $3). It was quite flaky and a tad sweet, bit hard to chew. I think it had a mild pistachio flavor though.

I liked this place when I tried it for the first time this fall, but my recent visit was disappointing. The female cashier was clearly overwhelmed - handling orders, packing, and interacting with customers - and her frustration showed in her attitude toward both customers and colleagues. The shop was moderately busy when I ordered a shawarma sandwich and paid an extra $8 for hummus and seaweed as sides. After a long wait, I received only the sandwich, which I noticed once I drove back home. The cashier's unfriendly demeanor made me hesitant to go back and address the mistake, especially since I don't live nearby. The sandwich tasted mediocre compared to the first time I had it. With so many great shawarma restaurants in Atlanta offering better service, I won't be returning here.

A strong 4 for this Mediterranean dive just off the Emory campus. Expect a line, it's a small joint with few interior seats and a few outdoor tables. It's 95% takeout which works perfectly for its base. I went twice on consecutive days with friends. It was overrun by students who adore them. Fast service at a fair price and it helps to have a delicious product which I can vouch for. I had the shawarma both times with their only desert baklava. I also added dumplings. The counter service is fast! So be ready to order and step aside once complete. It's kinda like a Seinfeld episode of the Soup Nazi if you've seen. Any regulars will get it. The whole operation appears to be family run by Asians. The food was delicious! Most rave about their in-house sauce which is on the hot side in my opinion. Unfortunately no option for tzatziki sauce which I would have preferred. Wow on the dumplings. The baklava.is not in house but respectable and I enjoyed. Do not miss this college dive. Not gourmet, just solid Mediterranean fare at a reasonable price point. Parking is behind the building.

falafel king is an absolute staple of a restaurant. a trip to atlanta is not complete without making a stop here for a quick meal. their prices are absolutely fair, and the quality of the food is truly spectacular and consistent each time. the family that owns this place is very kind and so diligent with preparing your food. my absolute favorite is the chicken shawarma sandwich, which comes with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, and a side of spicy mayo sauce (which is absolutely necessary to complete this already tasty sandwich). ringing up at around $8.50 after tax, you're not gonna find a better meal nearby. as an emory alumna, I am so sad to have graduated and won't have the chance to stop by at this small shop anymore. will miss this place!

Fusion is not something that is often executed well in many places. This one is an exception! Japanese twist on a Falafel sandwich? The food is fresh! Shawarma well seasoned but not overwhelming and falafel simply taste great! It's a quick bite off Emory campus and a little gem in a sea of corporate fast food. Highly recommended and try the Baklava (bonus points for not being overly sweet).

I love this place for an easy pick up when on the Emory campus! Conveniently located in Emory village, falafel king has great and affordable food just across the street from Emory. The workers here are really friendly, even when the restaurant is really busy, and they do a great job making sure that people are served in a timely manner. That being said, because of its popularity among college students it can take a long time to get food if you come during the lunch rush. There's also limited indoor seating, and a picnic table outside. It can be loud with a ton of people standing around, so it's much better for to go. The food itself is pretty good! They serve falafel, chicken shawarma, plus a spicy mayo which is a huge draw. They also have Asian cuisine. I've only ever had the dumplings (veggie only) and they're great.

Falafel King is my favorite restaurant near Emory. I always get the Mixed sandwich with shawarma and falafel. The sauce is one of the best parts!! Very filling. Service is fast, food is fresh and affordable, and the staff is super friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Small parking lot. Walking distance to campus.

A must have when you're in Emory Village! The service is quick and the food is well priced! (There's usually sushi on the menu, but they don't have any at the moment). I ordered a falafel sandwich which was the perfect size for me! It came with their signature red spicy sauce which was SO delish. Everything was super fresh and warm. I also got a side of hummus and pita which was super tasty. Would recommend this place to anyone who's in the area :) There is no in-door dining, but they do have a few tables outside where people can sit.

No sushi bc of Covid :(

Loved this place when studying at Emory, and I stop by when I happen to be nearby. The mixed sandwich plus that sauce is 10/10.

There's a…read morecouple of other spots there but I've actually only been to a few of them and this is one of my favorites . You know where this is so you know that you're gonna have to worry about paying for parking because look at the area that you're in. Just keep that in mind but there are plenty of parking structures around . The service was great. The two women that were working the front were excellent and they helped me along trying to make my decision. They were super nice and friendly and definitely worth speaking to because of their friendly demeanor . Everything I've had here has been great, absolutely amazing. I'm really hard on Mediterranean food only because where I grew up it was easy to find Mediterranean food because so many people from that side of the world put roots there. Finding some good chicken shawarma was easy. I haven't actually found a lot of that around the Atlanta area but there are a few good ones. This one is solid and did not miss. I loved it and I would definitely go back. Chicken shawarma (platter) - so the platter comes with two sides and an entrée. Everything was good. The chicken shawarma was very good and flavorful and it was super tender and I love that because it wasn't like it was sitting there all day. It was something I would definitely go back for. I may even get a wrap next time but the actual platter served me really well and it was great. roasted potatoes - my first side was potatoes and it's hard to mess up roasted potatoes. You just season it and stick it in the oven I guess but either way they were very moist and you got plenty of them. They were seasoned very well Grilled veggies - the grilled veggies were pretty good. I mean I have nothing to complain about. They were vegetables and they were seasoned as well so nothing wrong with that but they were just vegetables. It's not like it was a main course kind of situation but for a side they were a really good side choice . Creamy chicken soup - now let me get to the star of the show. This soup is amazing to me. I don't know what it is about it. Maybe it has something in it but it is amazing. I could actually get a big bowl of it and call it a day. The soup is creamy and savory and has bits of the chicken in there so it's also seasoned very well. I don't know what it is about this soup but this soup is gold to me. In any event yes I liked everything I got, yes I would go back, yes the soup is amazing, all the things LOL. They have a rosemary chicken that is supposed to be the best seller but I didn't come for that. I would definitely try that next time. I was very satisfied with what I got!

If you're looking for fresh, authentic Mediterranean food in Downtown Atlanta, Aviva by Kameel…read moreinside the HUB Peachtree Food Court is a must-visit! From the moment I walked in, Kameel made me feel welcome. His energy is contagious, and he genuinely engages with every customer, making everyone feel like family rather than just another order. That level of hospitality is hard to find and really sets this place apart. I ordered their best-selling Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The halal, hormone-free chicken breast was perfectly seasoned with Turkish spices, grilled with sweet white onions, and wrapped with creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, fresh cabbage salad, tabouli, and tahini in their homemade wrap. Every bite was packed with fresh, vibrant flavors, and the portion was surprisingly generous. For dessert, I couldn't resist the Pistachio Baklava, and I'm glad I didn't. The flaky filo layers were filled with pistachios and lightly sweetened with organic maple syrup instead of refined sugar. Combined with 100% olive oil and a hint of rose water, it was rich without being overly sweet and made for the perfect ending to the meal. What I also appreciate is Aviva's commitment to quality and healthy eating. They cook exclusively with 100% extra virgin olive oil, use halal, hormone- and antibiotic-free meats, fresh local produce, and avoid processed ingredients. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options while taking care to prevent cross-contamination, making it an inclusive place for people with different dietary needs. The restaurant itself is clean, organized, and inviting. While the prices are a little higher than some food court options, the quality of the ingredients, generous portions, outstanding service, and incredible flavors make it well worth every dollar. If you're in Downtown Atlanta and craving Mediterranean cuisine, Aviva by Kameel is definitely worth a visit. Great food, generous portions, warm hospitality, and a dining experience that keeps you coming back. Highly recommended!

I can't imagine what trying to pull up here during the day is like. It's great if you're walking in the GA Tech area though. The beef in the shawarma wrap was wayyy too tough for my liking but the seasoning was phenomenal. We came in an hour before close so I'll take the blame here -- going to any restaurant an hour before close is basically asking for the scraps of the day LOL. Husband enjoyed his beef shawarma plate and all the side fixings (a salad and hummus) which was quite a lot in quantity. Good value for food is definitely here. It took about $30 to feed two, including a lil dessert and a side order of baba ganoush and pita. The pita wasn't my favorite. But the baklava was a yummy finish. I'd definitely be here more if I lived in the area. I appreciate that they stay open a little later than a lot of comparable Mediterranean spots.

Unfortunately the flavor is a bit lacking and the chicken shawarma as well as the chicken kebab were very dry. The fattoush salad was also underseasoned. All of this would be excusable but the pita chips that were clearly fried and put directly into my styrofoam plate melted through and only discovered this after I had taken quite a few bites. A real shame given the hole in the wall / small business vibe, but I don't want to risk extra carcinogens each time I eat.
