It's such a good value and quality for what you get. The sandwich was simple but fresh and tasty. The medium bowl of soup had real body and was really flavorful. The cookie was surprisingly tasty and won't make you cringe with the sweetness level. And the fruit was fruit. There's nothing wrong or great to call out. The sandwich was superb. The soup was very hearty. And even the cookie was tasty. This lunch was pretty filling even sharing it as I had coffee already. Kind of like a fast casual concept, but cross that with a take away spot. When you walk in, it's a huge space. I came out kind of a weird time in the afternoon and it was totally empty, but I imagine it must get busy for lunches. They were out of a lot of of the listed daily items, but I went for the turkey chili and the roasted vegetable salad. The chili was pretty good, a little bit sweet for my taste. It did cause some mega bloating shortly after I ate it, but fortunately it was short-lived. The roasted vegetables were fantastic. They came in a little Tupperware cold, but they had a microwave and I hated them up for 45 seconds and they were so good. The broccoli, the beats, the Delicata squash all had the most lovely char. Came here after a dental procedure and got the butternut squash because it had the least ingredients. Not something I would typically get, but it was really good and savory. There's a little store with small businesses clothes, jewelry, and other trinkets which I loved. And the ladies at the counter were kind and attentive. This place is so different. The space is open and nonchalant with different types of tables and chairs around the space some to share and some that are for single parties. Everyone I've dealt with here has been friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings. The food is delicious - the turkey chili and wild mushroom soups are my favorites. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed when I arrived and turkey chili wasn't in the menu. They had chicken chili so I decided to give it a try. OMG!!! I love the idea and ambience of this place. However I often go during their open business hours to find them closed. I guess they close early. If you arrive at 3 pm you will be rushed out and not offered the full menu. Additionally, they are often closed with no explanation during their open business hours for the whole day! I think they just need to assign someone the job of updating your open hours for holidays and special events etc. It's disappointing to drive to your location, just to turn around cause you're closed at 3:30 pm, not actually 4 pm. read more

I'm so happy that Souper Jenny opened a new location in Decatur! It's inside the Nuts 'n Berries store at the counter in the back. They have lots of fresh gluten free and vegetarian options. I had a turkey and brie sandwich in a cabbage wrap (the jam on the sandwich adds a nice blend of flavors) and a steak salad with horse radish dressing. Both were delicious! My boyfriend got the loaded potato soup (which was to die for!) and the turkey and brie sandwich on bread. There is a cafe type area where you can sit down and eat in the front of the store, and they have lots of free parking at this location. Great way to start the day! read more

Souper disappointed with the customer service I received today. I've been going to Souper Jenny once a week for the past 4 months and paying for the overpriced soups and salads because I like their food. Today, I only wanted a bowl of lobster crab soup but the lady refused to sell me a bowl and would only sell me the soup if I bought the $20 quart. I informed her that I didn't want a quart and she said to me "well I'm sorry ". I was there at 3:10pm (they close at 4pm) and they were already cleaning up and packing the soups in quart size containers. Again, I love their soup but I'm big on customer service first and how I'm treated! I will no longer be spending my money at Souper Jenny! read more
