Mixed review here. My food was really good. I got the mixed Jerusalem grill platter. My girl ordered a margherita pita-style pizza meal. My food and salad were up at the same time and my girl's salad was ready before the pizza. We went outside to eat and both finished our salads while we waited for a pizza that was supposed to take 5 minutes. 10 minutes later I walk in with that "what' going on look" and they're like, oops, we burned it. My girlfriend got so pissed she just decided to get it to go because I was practically finished. They made amends by hooking up some free baklavas though. 4 stars for the food. 2 stars for service. My husband and I both had the falafel platter which came with 6 small falafel balls (tee-hee, I said "balls"!), lots of hummus, a pita and a salad. The salad was nice and fresh. The falafel was average to meh. The hummus I enjoyed. All in all it fullfiled the need for food at the time and if I was in the area and was hungry would probably go again. read more

This place is ok but maybe they should rename themselves Falafel Serf? The interior is nicely decorated, although the chairs weight what feels like 50 pounds, so weaked armed people beware! I think they killed 5 trees for the lumber in that place. Anyway, it is a pretty inefficent sent up for ordering. They only had two staff running the front during lunch, which seemed pretty sparse. The food was well flavored but like another reviewer said they were sparse on protein. My friend ordered the tabouli as a side and she said it tasted like Thanksgiving stuffing. I ordered the Gyros plate and it did fill me up, but really wasn't anything to write home about. Your mom has probably eaten better tabouli in Iowa. read more

I live in the neighborhood and absolutely love eating here. I have always found the food to be delicious, the service kind, and the restaurant clean. I noticed most of the bad reviews are relatively old, so maybe they're under new ownership or management. Whatever the reason, I think this place has turned a corner. I really hate giving bad reviews but if you like a good gyro, do not order one from here. NO GOOD. I'm pretty sure they grabbed some pre-cooked-cut meat out of a box, heated it up in the microwave, and served it up as a gyro. If you're looking for a traditional gyro, run from this place. Charlie Browns kills this place. I truly wish I walked down to GOODTIMES or ordered a sub from one of our local sandwich joints. read more

It was relatively bland and the portions are tiny. There's lots of quick decent food in this part of Denver. Better than your average fast food. Although the falafels are decent, the best thing on the menu, I've found, is the chicken schwarma. The pita is beautiful - different from the falafel pita - thicker, soft and very fresh. The chicken is white meat, not gristly, and seasoned well, and you have your choice of salad toppings. The yogurt sauce they put on top is excellent. Overall a scrumptious meal. I miss having this falafel king across the street! read more

Very tasty fresh falafel, favorite gyros. This is my favorite little lunch spot. I have come here many times and expect to keep coming back.

The food was okay to taste but it gave me food poisoning the next days Gyros were overpriced.

I know it's fast food, but is this the best that we can do? This is not good food. Will it sustain you enough to live? Sure. I'm looking for a bit more. I checked the online menu at Chef Zorba's, which is a great Greek place not far from the F King. The food was less expensive and infinitely better. The falafels, which they should be good at, at least according to the name, were bland and tasteless. If you like this place, my guess is you've never experienced good middle eastern food. I just tried to go To falafel King as I parked the open sign was on brightly - I was there eight minutes before the posted closing time - I proceeded to the door and had an employee lock the door right in front of me then he walked to the back and turned off the open sign as I'm knocking on the door. Clearly he did not want my business so they will never again have my business. read more

I love the falafel from Falafel King, it is really good. I generally buy the packaged ones at Vitamin cottage and make them myself, because I live about 45 minutes from this location. Several months ago my husband and I went into this location and got a falafel for me and we took it to the theater to eat it during a movie, I opened mine up and it had all kinds of veggies on it even though I asked for it without anything. I called the next day (they were closed when we left the movie) and the manager told me she would "put my name in the book for a free one" and "to come and get it whenever I was ready." Fast forward to this week when I finally made it back down there and went in for my beloved falafel. I was met by a very grumpy guy at the counter who eventually referred to himself as the owner. I told him about the previous situation and he basically called me a liar, he asked how he was supposed to believe me if I didn't know the manager's name that I spoke with and then made me argue with him for 5 minutes before finally telling me "you must have been in the restaurant business before, you have all of the answers" and telling the cook to make my falafel. I told this guy that I would never lie about having ordered something and that it wasn't like I was asking for free food, I paid for my last order that was wrong through no fault of my own but I guess he didn't care. I have never been called a liar by someone who I didn't even know, why the heck would I lie about a $7 meal? I was dressed professionally, it isn't like he thought I was some homeless chick trying to score free food. I had my credit card in my pocket, I could have easily paid. He was extremely rude and insulting, I will not set foot back in this location, I refuse to go somewhere that they treat people in this manner, you should respect your customers because without them you wouldn't have your business... obviously. If you care about how you are treated, don't pick this place. read more

Really good falafel balls, lamb is pre-cooked but also grilled before your eyes and put onto the freshest pita bread. The eggplant side was so so, especially since I had marinated mushrooms in mind but they were out. Definitely coming back. read more

Huge portions here -- I usually get the 4x6 plate which is four salads and six falafel balls. There is certainly better middle eastern food to be had in the area, though this place is quite fast comparatively. The decor is haphazard, chairs are uncomfortable. The bathroom isn't very clean. Never tried falafel before but I've been buying the falafel king brand hummus and it's amazing so I decided to give the restaurant a try. I went there two days in a row and was not disappointed at all. The falafel was excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions, and the price of the food for the amount you got was awesome. They also sell the falafel and hummus there so you can take it home to make later. Both times I was there, there were only a couple other people eating there during lunch time. Parking is pretty limited but it wasn't an issue when we were there. read more

This place is delicious! I ordered the falafel plate and I've never had such fresh, delicious falafel. The salad was crisp, green and fresh. Tabbouleh was flavorful and also delicious. I also chose hummus as a side, and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing that I would've preferred is if the pita were softer/fresher. But maybe that's how it was supposed to be. Went here for the first time and will definitely return again and again. If you're looking for really cheap food you'll have to go somewhere else and risk lower quality, but I feel the pricing is fair enough. We ordered the 4x6 Combo, which turned out to be an incredible vegetarian feast. Six perfect little falafel balls, a mixed green salad and your choice of four other salads. The mushroom salad had some great acid; the tabouleh had the perfect balance of wheat to parsley and seasoning; the hummous was smooth and flavorful; the greens were fresh; the onions provided a great little bite; the dolmades were delicious; the wheat pita bread was warm and fresh and a great accompaniment. My only complaint? The tahini dressing is a little thin, and ended up filling the bottom of the plastic bag by the time we got the cartons home. (Maybe the dressings should be packaged separately to avoid spillage.) Overall, this place absolutely rocks and is now at the top of my list for really great vegetarian fare. The food was not that great. I got the sampler platter, which had falafel and gyros with salad and rice. The hummus was the worst I've ever had at a restaurant; it tasted stale and not that good to begin with. The falafel was allright, but I noticed that they sell packages of frozen falafel balls, so I assume they are not freshly made. For the price $9.00, it was not enough food. While we were eating, one of the employees was sweeping the floor right next to us, and I felt like I was eating at a fast food joint. All the food was either lukewarm or cold, so I did not feel satisfied. The lady serving the food was not that friendly. She put three different kinds of pita bread on the counter (they were all still in the plastic bags they came in) and asked me to choose one. When I chose one, she said "No, not that one" and wouldn't let me have the bread I wanted. The bread she gave me was cold and stale. Will not return here again. read more

If you want to experience delicious middle eastern cuisine, skip the Falafel King. It's the fast food version of middle eastern food. For a delicious meal with generous portions at a great price, run to the Shish Kabob Grill! After the Falafel King, I'm convinced I never need to try another middle eastern restaurant again. I use to like this place years ago. The food was good enough, and the prices were reasonable. However, after eating there today I will not be back. I had the gyros plate, which was definitely sub-par compared to other places around town that have recently opened up. I would rate the mean alone at 3 stars. They were out of normal plates, so even though we wanted to eat inside the establishment, we had to eat out of Styrofoam containers. (we were the only ones in the place) Not a big deal, but a little annoying. I went to wash hands, and the men's sink had no hot water. The bathroom was filthy with grime and obvious stuff that has been there a very long time. When I walked by the kitchen door, it was propped open. The floor was gross and everything in sight looked dirty. I wish I would have washed my hands before I ate, rather than after, because I would have left, whether I had my food or not. Again... I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but this place needs some work to be compettive with other places. All I can say is when a restaurant runs out of plates, there are definitely more serious issues going on. read more
