During multiple visits, checkouts, and appointment scheduling conversations, the outstanding balance was never mentioned. Over a year later, I was finally notified of the issue. By that time, United Concordia was unable to reissue payment because the claim was too old and a new contract period had begun. As a result, I was left responsible for the balance. What is most frustrating is that other visits during the same timeframe were processed and paid without issue. Had the office's billing department identified and communicated the problem in a timely manner, this situation likely could have been resolved directly with the insurance company. I understand that billing issues can happen, but timely communication and proper account management are essential.
