**DO NOT USE - FRAUDULENT MANAGEMENT** The owners of Falcone Crawlspace are *REFUSING TO REFUND THOUSANDS* for services not required nor started. For an "award-winning" company, it is absolutely shocking that they feel comfortable ripping customers off during a pandemic and national recession. Other than the evaluation, which I happily paid $100 for, *NO SERVICES HAVE BEEN PROVIDED* and Falcone would not be able to complete them until Nov 30th - more than 2 months after my initial evaluation.  --- Furthermore, they misrepresented the conditions of my crawlspace in order to get a customer contract - stating that it was full of mold and if not resolved immediately the conditions would be worse. Because the contractor seemed kind and expressed urgency in his verbal report, I signed his contract to have Falcone fix the issues (biggest regret) and put down a deposit of $5,000. I had to call the office the following day to learn that my services would not be scheduled until almost 10 weeks later. Troubled by this, I had someone else go into my crawl space for a second opinion. In one day, we fixed most of the issues in my crawlspace. Furthermore, the amount of mildew present was normal and did not reflect the exaggerated assessment. The next business day (4 days from my first interaction with Falcone) I talked with the office to cancel the upcoming services.  I was shocked to learn that *FALCONE MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO REFUND MY $5,000 DEPOSIT*. I was not informed that the deposit was non-refundable. The cancellation request was only 4 days later, and Falcone made it clear that they're booked out for months. I'd understand Falcone wanting to keep $100-200 for a minor inconvenience, but to keep all the money is ridiculous and unsympathetic.  The next day, the management team offered to refund $1,847.05 (difference of 40% down), but not the whole $5,000 for services not completed or required. That would mean *FALCONE WOULD RETAIN $3,152.95 FOR SERVICES NOT STARTED NOR REQUIRED.* I am particularly disgusted by the timing of this. Like many people, my income has been affected by COVID, and still have financial obligations to meet. Falcone's decision to not provide back a full refund when they have not done anything is unreasonable and unethical.  I've been back and forth with the kind but *POWERLESS* customer service team and requested to speak to someone from management to no avail. The fact that this family-owned business is not open to discussion or reaching a fair resolution, shows me that they don't care about their customers. I'm disputing this charge through my credit card company and will continue to escalate the issue until I get my full deposit back. read more

***DO NOT USE OR WORK FOR FALCONE**** My fiancé and I moved ourselves and our 1.5 yr old son to Raleigh for this company. My fiancé was a crew leader at Falcone. Only a month after being in Raleigh he was fired over what someone else posted on Facebook. He didn't even post anything. Now we are in Raleigh with no family or money. Not to mention they are withholding his last $119 check for 70 hours of work. He worked from sunup to sundown for the company. Getting paid "production" which is a scam to pay very little for a 70 hour week. The employees are hired with little to no training. Turnover is horrendous. Only a handful of people work there 1 year or more. This sad company also on frequent occasions holds direct deposit from their employees and gives paper checks because they are about to go under. If you'd like to support a company that pays sweat shop wages and hires anyone with a heartbeat (fires them in a heartbeat as well). Choose Falcone. If you don't want to be screwed up the butt, avoid this company completely. read more

We couldn't be more thankful to Chris and Kenny with Falcone on our recent water leak repair on our lower lever. After a terrible situation and water line installation with our plumber (Osborne Plumbing & Drain), it was a relief to have such honest and efficient experts to remedy the problem. Our initial quote was much higher since we could only estimate what the problem might be under the soil, but once they dug and had their eyes on it, they confirmed a lesser expensive approach to the solution. I was nervous at first because my foundation needed some substantial repair. When Troy showed up with his crew (Mitch, Brandon and Chris) I was put at ease. After getting a number of estimates for crawlspace repair, minor subfloor repair, and to level a severe low spot in our kitchen floor, we hired Falcone Contracting, as I liked the initial impression that the owner, Fred Falcone, gave me. I also liked the idea of supporting a family-owned business. His wife runs the logistics back at the office and is very friendly, was responsive to my requests. However, if I could turn back the clock, I would have tried another company, as we were not satisfied with the work that wasn't completed or the overall experience. At the beginning, they showed up on time and began the crawlspace work. Fred had his brother begin working on the minor subfloor repair, which didn't take long. However, when I checked his work, the subfloor was raised well above the existing subfloor, and I had to explain to Fred's brother that I can't lay tile on an uneven floor - I was irritated that I had point this out, and I had to ask him to redo it ("aren't they the professionals? Isn't this one of the basics?", was my thinking). He did redo it and got it right - but it was at that point that I felt like I had to watch them to make sure work was done correctly -- not a good feeling, especially when you're going to be paying $5,000 for repairs. It took a number of days for them to complete the crawlspace repairs and as best as I can tell, they did complete the main crawlspace repairs properly, and pretty much on time. After they finished the crawlspace, they began working on trying to level out the dip in the kitchen floor. This is where the biggest problems began. Fred explained to me that they would make some adjustments and then give the house time to settle and would come back in 2-3 weeks. That made perfect sense to me. He also set my expectations that he would not be able to make it perfectly level, but that he could improve it significantly - I told him I was fine with that. He came back as he said and made more adjustments, but the floor was still way off, and he said he was concerned about his ability to do much more saying the beams under the house were bowed severely. He said add'l supports would be required and would cost me another $2,300. I was not happy. To this I told him that I was sorry he seemed to have overlooked the extent of the repair, but that he included this repair in his estimate and I asked him to complete the work at no add'l cost to me. I also noted that the other estimates (some actually came in less than his) also included that repair and that I didn't think multiple contractors would have all missed the same thing. He agreed to finish the job at no add'l cost to me. He came back out and put another support beam in but was not having any luck getting the floor to level at all - in fact, they raised it too high and now we were having concerns on how that was affecting the rest of the house. I had to call again, and they came back out and lowered it again, but ended up taking out all the shims and we were back at where we started. Fred said he wasn't sure what else he could do because of the bowed beams, to which I still wasn't understanding why they weren't included in his estimate. It was at that point that I lost faith in their ability to properly repair the kitchen floor -- in fact, I was concerned that they might do structural harm -- so I dropped it and did not ask them to come out again. (Today, our kitchen floor still has a severe drop in it; in effect, no work was done on this part of the job). On a separate note, Fred & his team all left their cigarette butts on my driveway, to which I had to ask him to clean them up -- this was less than professional in my opinion. Personally, I liked Fred and his wife (who was manning the phones) - they were friendly and tried to be helpful. And I do think Fred gave some effort to make things right - but his apparent oversight on the repair estimate must have been pretty big -- so much that he wasn't willing to absorb whatever it would take to make it right as originally promised. For me, the weight of this oversight exposed a lack of knowledge and understanding of structural engineering and a lack of experience for that type of repair, such that I cannot recommend their services. The overall experience, especially since nothing was done on the kitchen floor, left us dissatisfied and feeling like we had not spent our $5,000 wisely. read more

(Am editing my original review - going back to notes and communications with Falcone so I don't mis-report.) I initially purchased a crawl space evaluation and tune-up from Falcone. In speaking with them, I mentioned my concerns were a year of dealing with water standing in front yard after heavy rain, having to haul water out of the basement, and having mold-related health issues since April. I was to receive a written report and 5 photos from the evaluation, which was done July 10. I received a quote for recommended mold remediation and gutter work on that same day but did not receive the report and photos until September 18. Work was scheduled to begin Mon. Sept. 17. On the 17th I had a voice mail from the Falcone office - they were held up a bit due to weather - would call me the 19th to let me know what day they could be here to start the job. I received a text at 8:30 AM on Wed. the 19th saying worker was en route. I called the office, was told gutter man on his way, then told no, crew on the way - be here at 11 AM. One worker arrived at 11:30 AM - said the crew was busy elsewhere and they would be calling him to join them. He removed insulation in crawlspace and did some mold treatment. We talked as he waited for his call. He said he was also the gutter man and was puzzled that there was not enough gutter in the quote to do the job - said it would take twice as much gutter and cost about double. (He later discussed with consultant and end result was according to quote.) Before leaving at about 3:30, he suggested I go outside periodically for air, and that I not go in the basement due to his work. He would be back with crew and everything would be done by the end of Friday. By that evening I was feeling sick - went downstairs and discovered the old insulation had been left in the basement with fans blowing on it.... e-mailed Falcone not to send workers back until we talked. I felt they should be more informed as to mold issues and the insulation should have been removed from the premises. Two men came and removed the old insulation on Friday - I think they were only here about 1 1/2 hours. All work was completed the next Wed. Sept. 26. The new insulation is of varying colors and ragged. When the insulation was last installed, it had a far neater appearance and was all the same color. I had mentioned sunken spots that had been washed out in the dirt space and was told by consultant those would be smoothed out before the plastic liner went in. Workman said it was not on the work order and so it was not done. I mentioned concern over water dripping from duct wrapping and was advised by consultant it was normal condensation and no need for concern - later learned the duct insulation had water inside it. As workers were leaving after installing the new gutters, it began to rain and water was leaking from the gutter at a corner. I pointed it out, they got something like a caulk gun out of the truck and supposedly took care of the problem. Then came the heavy rains and water flooded out of that gutter as well as another of the new sections, causing water to back up in my newly installed drain boxes at the walkway and to wash fresh dirt from the newly graded area, and leaving my new river rock installation filled with fresh dirt. I continue to find gutter screws in the river rock and all over the yard. I found a small flat clipping of the metal gutter with a sharp sliver sticking straight up out of it, laying in the yard at the edge of my driveway where we often step out of the car. I have a metal roof and there is a dent beside the gutter in one spot - looks like they may have hit it with a tool. I sent videos and photos repeatedly but it took a while to hear from the office. They scheduled the consultant back out here. He did not show up - told me later that no-one told him he was due here that day. Rescheduled. He was here last Wed. Oct.17, we went over all the issues and he assured me they would take care of everything. He cleaned the dirt out of the river rock and the drain box - suggested the overflow was due to drain box, should be carrying the water away - explained that the gutter problem is due to some sort of angle or joint (which has been there since the roof was installed - metal roof 2012). I reminded him they replaced the gutter because they said it did not work well. It is now more faulty than before. They have my videos that clearly show the new gutters in action during heavy downpours. Today is Oct. 25 and I have heard nothing further, neither from him nor the office. read more

The work was done well but the workers left our house in a very dirty condition. Muddy footprints and debris everywhere. I had to email/call four times to get them to send a cleaner. When the guy finally came, he did a light cleaning job and left a few hours of work ahead of us. Quite disappointing. read more

Update- I will give Fred credit the concreate porch that was replaced was not right and he came back and dug it all back out and redid it to make things right that's stand up in my opinion. The second time around was much better the edges near the house could have been finished better but I think that happened overnight after the workers left and the concrete dried. read more

I hired Falcone to repair a sinking pier on our home. They recommended the installation of a sump pump and completion of an existing french drain as well as additional footings and piers. The sump pump was an acceptable install but as for the rest of the job it was a total failure. After (4) additional return visits to attempt to right the problems the owner Fred shrugged his shoulders and told me that I should consult with a structural engineer. (they are not and do not employ one within the company). After a 450.00 dollar engineer evaluation and a 1500.00 visit from another local foundation repair company we were able to correct the problems created by Falcone crawl space & structural repair. I have used Falcone Crawl Space twice now, and plan on having them out for a third job in the spring. The first time we had them out was to install a helical pier under a corner of our garage to stop/repair some settling prior to beginning our addition. They came out, did the work in a timely manner, cleaned up the dirt that was displaced by the work, and we were happy. The guys were courteous. We also recently had them install new gutters on our home once we completed the addition. We have some drainage issues, which we are addressing, and Fred made some recommendations on the gutters that we hadn't considered initially. The gutters are a good size, much bigger than standard gutters on a house, which allows them to move water more quickly, getting it away from your foundation faster. I thought all gutters came in the same size! He also added some pitch to the gutters which again helps move the more quickly. All things I had never really considered when thinking about gutters. Gutters are kind of one of those critical components of keeping water off your foundation, that are so often overlooked; eye opening! We opted for these filter things to be cut in to the gutter at basically eye level of chest level, to make for easier cleaning; these gutters were installed right before the major leaf fall began in our yard, and I think unclogging them was a lot easier, or at least more convenient, this year. We'll have Falcone Crawl Space install more piers under the front corner of the other side of the house in the spring time, when we start the final stages of fixing our drainage issues. I have a walkout basement that has trouble in severe rains that floods my basement under the door. We had a small sump pump installed, but it did not help Memorial weekend when we had Biblical rains hit the area. My sump and shopvac were working overtime as the ground was so saturated. I called four contractors for estimates. Falcone was the first to show up three days later. Chris spent a great deal of time talking with us on our concerns and inspecting our property. He gave us a fast and fair quote. Our job was able to be completed within three weeks of scheduling it. It took four days for Chris, Kenny and their crew to install an internal french drain system in my basement and crawl space as well as a door drain along with a sump and backup. They were kind, respectful, and efficient. They did a great job and cleaned up the basement work area and my property when they were done. Maryl in the business office was great to work with. Prior to hiring Falcone, I had a structural engineer do a report on my house because the home had developed 2 sizable cracks in interior walls. I received several estimates for work that needed to be down in my crawlspace (shim and adjust as needed, bridge blocking between joists, install lental abouve crawl door opening, instally joist hangers). I'm on a fixed income and the $3000 I paid to them was a very significant amount. Ten months later the same cracks reappeared. I reached out to Falcone asking if someone could check to see what was going on. An appointment was set on the phone which they later cancelled, another one made and they failed to show. Basically they said that it wasn't their problem, that they had done the work up to standards so no need to come look! In my mind someone other than the origional employees needed to check this out. I followed up with several emails to different people in the company and received no responses. Again- my bill was for over $3,000 and my structural engineer and I were shocked that Falcone didn't have the decency to even come check on the work. I have always been pleasant in talking and writing to them. It's like they have washed their hands of everything. It's possible that the return of the cracks is being caused by other foundation issues and no reflection on the quality of the repairs but what kind of customer service is it to not even come and check out the problem. Obviously if I have other foundation issues , I will not use Falcone again. read more

We contacted Falcone Crawl Space for work on our new home. As dissapointed that we were for having to have work done on a home we barely moved into these guys did an amazing job and were fast. The crew leader, Josh, and his guys were great. We were told that our tile may crack with the repairs and Josh stated that he would try his best for this not to happen. He and the crew did such an amazing job that my tiles did not crack! If we ever need work again we will definitley call these guys. read more

I would not recommend Falcone because they do not have the customer's best interest at heart. They over-charged us for the repairs they made to our crawl space and were not willing to discuss the matter once the work was done. I'll give you one example; sealing the vents for the crawl space, $700. We could have bought new covers that were sealed and installed them for $200. I hired Falcone a couple months ago because I had termite damage. Fred came out to inspect my property and give me an estimate quickly after my initial phone call. After receiving estimates from two other companies as well, I hired Fred and his team because he was the most likable and I felt confident in his plan. I could tell he knew what he was doing, and I liked his ability to explain the process to me in a simple and easy to understand way. I checked his references and insurance and everything was ready. Melissa called to confirm plans with me a few days before we were scheduled to begin, and let me know my crew leader would be Joe. At first I was concerned because I'd hired this company based on the intial impression Fred gave me, but in the end I need not have worried. Joe is clearly every bit the expert Fred is, and took time to answer all my questions. I didn't want to go into the crawl space myself, so Joe even took pictures to show me his progress. I liked that I didn't have to clean up after him and his crew. (I'd also recently had roofers on property and found litter, debris, and cigarette butts for weeks following their work.) Falcone's men finished on time, and with no hidden fees or extra charges not listed in my original quote. Fred and Joe both checked with me to make sure I was satisfied with the work they performed. I am a Realtor here in Charlotte and was working with a home that had sinking floors due to the Pier system was a few inches to the side of the main supporting wall of a 3 story house. there was also problems with joists and Band Sils. A Structural Engineer inspected the home and wrote up a plan to fix the problems I hired Falcone after interviewing 3 companies. Bill Logan of Falcone put together a plan after consulting several times with the Structural Engineer. Major HVAC duct work had to be taken down and relocated after the structural work was done. An HVAC company was sub-contracted to do this work. The city inspector came out and approved the work done before the HVAC company came back to build new lines. When they were done, they left all their debris piled under the house as well as damaged insulation around another duct line. I had my HVAC company that I swear by, come out and look at the work as well as called Falcone. Joe from Falcone was at the house only hours after I called. They both found shoddy workmanship as well as no collars where needed on lines that were connected. Not only did Joe and Falcone correct the work done by the HVAC company they subed out, but when I asked him not to bring that company back to fix it, but to use the HVAC company I use, He hired my HVAC company to fix that work and also replace 2 lines of duct work at Falcones expense. That's a great company that does more than just stand behind their work but holds themselves accountable for the work they sub out. Outstanding! Thank you! read more

I can't say enough good things about the team at Falcone Craw Space & Structural Repair. I was desperate because I had a major repair that needed to be repaired in a short period of time after our house went under contract to be sold. After talking with several other contractors, many of whom were unsure about what needed to be done, I found Falcone and scheduled an appointment. When I first met with Ed (the estimator), he was professional and said this was not unlike many other repairs they had done. He walked me through the estimate, explained the potential side effects (cracks in the walls, tile floor above the repair, etc.). He also was confident they could get the needed permits and get the repair done in time for our closing. Nicole and Esmeralda were also very helpful in keeping me updated on the progress of the permitting and scheduling. When the guys came out to do the repair they were very helpful, respectful, and organized. They got the repair done right on schedule. Even after it was identified that the design needed tweaking because my HVAC guy could not complete another repair that needed to be made next to their repair, Nicole made sure they came back out the next day and adjusted the structural repair so that it was still code compliant and the HVAC guys had room to complete their repair. On top of that, there were no cracks in the walls or tile, which is quite amazing considering they had to jack up two sides of my house to partially replace the beam that ran the length of the house. They also went above and beyond the requirements by doing things like adding joist hangers to the section they repaired. As for pricing, they were very reasonable for what I expected a repair like this to cost (I had some cheaper options, but each of them based their estimate on not fully understanding the extent of the damage until they got in there, even saying it was the first repair like this that they had done). Even if they aren't the cheapest, don't short yourself if you want it done right. read more
