Got a reservation very easily online. Their web site did not mention that construction is on going connected to the course as well as cart path. Poor signage and dangerous construction cart crossing. Fairways have allot of poorly laid SOD. The SOD isn't laid correctly, rather just dropped on top of soil. Two greens look like a cart did burnouts. Drainage on site couldn't be any worse. Club house in dis repair. You'd expect the teens fees be reduced due to conditions. read more

Not friendly, making you feel stressed before your tee time rather than ready to enjoy it. I really enjoyed my round here! This course offers a challenge! There are a few blind shots so make sure you get a course book. The gentlemen in the pro shop were very professional and answered all my questions. If you are a higher handicap the course might be a bit challenging. The grass wasn't absolutely perfect but that is okay because it is fall and that's totally expected. I would say that Falls Village offers a great price for the quality of the course. Big shoutout to the greenskeepers for doing a great job and taking pride in their work! I do see people in the reviews complaining about the construction around the course. I only noticed construction in out of bounds areas. If that's a concern to you then just keep your ball in the fairway and don't be a hacker lol! read more

Honestly super disappointing experience here! The starter made the round a terrible experience. Spent $118 for 2 golfers, Saturday morning 8:30. We showed up at 7:45, checked in, and headed to the practice green. At 8:16 the starter came over and grabbed us off the practice green. He let us know that our playing partners were ready, and due to pace of play he wanted to get us off. Forced us off, nobody for the next 2 holes in front of us, and nobody went off behind us for another 20 minutes. Couldn't even go off at my scheduled tee time on a nearly $60 round. No indication online that the bunkers are literally cement. Course was in terrible shape. Greens were great, and that was it. Finished the round under 4 hours because they rush you through your round. Would highly recommend checking out any other course in the area. Shared my experience with the pro shop and they had no interest in what we had to share. read more

Spend your golf money at another course. We recently moved to Durham. I am 6 minutes away from FV. I figured it had to be at least decent since the location is primo (tons of homes surround the course and it sits right on super busy Hwy 98). Not only is the golf course the pits, but the pro shop staffer, named Jason (i think he is actually the pro) could care less if you play. He was short and rude to our group when we came in to give some feedback on the course and ask a couple of questions. read more

This is the worst Raleigh golf course I have ever been to. My group of 3 originally played our tee time on Sunday (4/16) and everything went fine. Played the front 9 and to our surprise, it began raining pretty significantly. We headed to the pro shop and got a rain check for the back 9 and left. We returned on Wednesday (5/19) to play our back 9. Employees in the shop told us we need to pay for the full 18 to be able to use our 9. So now we are getting charged even more on top of what we already paid for our unfinished 18. This is ridiculous. On top of that, the employees were incredibly rude and made snarky comments. You'd think there'd be less inflated egos at a course that looks like the surface of Mars. Falls Village will not see another dime from me. read more

Horrible experience, the starter bill is a geezer and was complaining about us keeping the place of play, even though the group ahead of us was on the green, not only is it a horrible landscape, with actual cement bunkers, and dirt fairways you have management barking down at you for no reason at all. On top of that 3/ 4 of my group got charged for different rates? Do not recommend go 0.8 miles up the road to the crossings. read more

Collared shirt required for the driving range? This is one of the cheapest courses in the area, has bunkers that are truly unplayable, no desirable qualities and they are turning down business because I am wearing an athletic shirt. This isn't Augusta, don't know what they are thinking here. Truly blasphemous. I wish I could include a picture of the condition of clubhouse, putting/chipping area, and driving range. Goodbye Falls Village! Sad to say we're never going back. Used to play this course regularly. I always knew the poor tee boxes, fairway, and no sand in the bunkers, but today the poor management tipped me over the edge. Played this morning. We walked the course because I knew it would be cart path only. We show up and Management told us it's the same price if you walk or ride. $50....whatever I'm still walking. Pace of play was horrible. Took 2 hours 20 mins to finish the front 9. No Marshall out there. Went back in to get a raincheck for the back 9. Management refused to give us rainchecks for slow play, which I've never experienced that response from a golf course. A golf course loses NOTHING by giving a raincheck. It doesn't cost them anything. In fact, 30% of rainchecks are never redeemed. Their is zero risk to the golf course. I've got rainchecks for slow play from Finley, Duke, Hillandale, The Crossings, Jordan Lake. Those courses will give you a raincheck because they know you will be back and they want you to come back. A course that doesn't give a raincheck for ANY reason just wants your money. Plain and simple. They don't care about their customers coming back. It's just a shame. So we left. You can keep our $25 and the potential revenue we would have paid from playing 30+ rounds there in 2023. There are better courses with better management in the area that actually want your business. P.S. Management don't contact me trying to win me back and give me a free round or whatever. You obviously need that money. Just do better for your clients and your members. Don't nickel and dime them anymore. read more

I have never left a review of a golf course before but was compelled to author one after today's aborted round. With no prior to arrival indication that two holes were compromised by ground repairs (2 par fives playing as par THREE's) we decided to play anyhow. The course was an embarrassment to the game. Muddy ruts everywhere, much ground-under-repair, badly sodded areas, and so many washed out areas that it was even a challenge to find a place to drop away from the poor conditions. It felt like we were playing in a war-zone! We decided to walk off after 9. I was not prepared to endure any further challenges. I had two guest from out-of-town with me and was continually apologizing for how the course was versus even a year ago when I played it last. I've played other courses when they had been recently aerated but was given ample warning about conditions and reduced rates. No such case here. As we left, I mentioned my disappointment to the young man in the pro shop but received no comment, apology, ... just a shoulder shrug! Consider yourself warned. read more

Dollar for dollar this course is still one if the best and fun courses to play. Especially after they put brand new champion Bermuda greens two years ago. This course challenges you to stay in the narrow fairways with sloping roughs towards them on almost all of the holes. Take an extra club on almost all if the approach shots. Greens have subtle undulations that forces you to walk around your putt a couple of times before pulling the trigger. Yeah, the bunkers suck because there is no drainage and ate now turning into mud pits. But you get a free drop. Would give it a five stars if wasn't for bunkers. Go play and have fun, but quit complaining if you can't keep in the short grass. read more

I'm the type of guy that's easily pleased with a golf course as long as the greens are smooth, but this course is the first course that I can't get over it. Bunkers are just dirt and have grass growing in them, and there are practically no fairways. Just backyard grass. Layout is also not my favorite. Not worth it. read more

I went to try out this golf course and was extremely disappointed with quality of course. You could tell that at one time this course may have been a fun track but the course conditions were appalling. So much so that I couldn't even enjoy the round despite hitting the ball well. The rough was anywhere between 1" to 1.5" high. Come on that is what first cut rough is supposed to look like. The greens were bumpy and hadn't been rolled in forever. The greens were soft and spongy and the ball rolled horribly. With greens so spongy (not from rain) from poor maintenance, that when you step you are creating indentations in the green. I might expect this for a Monday morning but for a Sunday that is unacceptable. The tee boxes were cut so high, I needed extra long tees just get above the grass. Love this course hesitated to write a review because I don't want it becoming harder to get a tee time . But yes, lovely greens right now, rolling true. Would be 5/5 stars however a couple tee boxes are uneven and at some spots fairways are torn up/hard, also bunkers are out of play so adjust your course rating accordingly. For the most part, you'll get rewarded with a good lie for good fairway placement, and again greens are phenomenal. Wow, this is a great place to play golf. Staff is friendly, prices are more than reasonable, and course is great. Nice club house, driving range, and putting green. Very helpful staff. Prices are great, especially for what you are getting to play on. Seems like it could me much more expensive. Course is in very good shape for a public course. What a fun track! I really like the set up here because it presents alot of good challenges. I played from the whites so its relatively short, but its really narrow (looking at the score, card it was pretty long from the blues/golds). Lot's of opportunities to score, but your mishits are punished severely so the mental aspect is fun when trying to decide what to do. Definitely a place that demands accuracy... the rough is pretty thick and its easy to lose balls even when you're in play. Shots to the green can easily be blocked by trees if you don't position yourself right. My one issue is that there are alot of holes that are blind doglegs. If you've never played here before its hard to figure out where is safe and not. Alot of holes on the back side have a dogleg where you can drive through the bend even though they look pretty far. So proceed with caution and pay attention to the hole maps and plaques. Condition wise, the greens are in better than average shape (not the best but definitely well kept). They are slick and sloped so putting is a challenge (when is it not though?). Price is about $50 with cart so its not good not bad. I don't know if they will do it again but I bought a 2 rounds for $50 on groupon so that makes it a really good value. That said, while its too pricey for me to play every weekend, I would definitely have no problem spending my money here every now and then at regular price. read more

Played here today. I've played the course before and really enjoyed it. Beautiful grounds and friendly staff. However, today was torture. There was a member match play going on which should have been told to us when booking our tee time. It took us over 5 hours to play and we were waiting on every single tee to hit off which slowed us down and took the fun out of the day. $36 for 18 holes is a decent deal, but I would rather play another course where the rangers are out keeping the members up to speed. We played Falls Village this past Sunday. The greens were being aerated so we played at a reduced rate of $25 which I felt was a steal. The fairways were coming in nicely and the course has a good number of challenging holes. Need to be able to keep it straight off the tee box as there are trees lining nearly every hole. A fairly hilly course which makes for some tough shots. Overall a decent course for what we paid. read more

The last 10 or so times we have played even on Saturday or Sunday they do not have hotdogs. They say it's not busy enough on a Saturday or Sunday even though they advertise it on the site. And the bunkers are mud or dirt so we do free drops outside of them. Feel like being public course they should have something as simple as hotdogs to offer on weekends but no. read more

This course has a beautiful layout but is lacking the proper care to be a quality experience. The greens should be green and the fairways should be fair. Both a long way from it. Too many muddy patches on the greens, bald spots in the fairways. Not worth more than $25. Slow play took 4 hours and 45 minutes due to walkers, group of five, etc. Water coolers were empty on the back nine and no bathrooms as clubhouse gets locked at 630.
