Went here for Father's day. It is a pretty good way to spend some time with friends and family. I have learned, however, eat before you come. Not a huge fan of the food, and selection. The drinks are pretty good, and they have a lot of non-alcoholic selections that are flavored teas or whatever. Lots of mixed drinks as well. The play is fun. You can bring in your own clubs, but for the most part it is amateur, so don't worry if you cant hit the ball a mile. Most people use a lot of mulligans. Always a couple show offs that think they are pros, but whatever makes them happy. The games are cute, and great for 6 or less people. We always have fun, especially when the worst one there always wins because some of the higher scoring "drives" are the chippers that barely make it off the tee. I like hitting from the 2nd or 3rd floor, just seems cooler, but maybe I'll try bottom next time. The only negatives are the sometimes poor service (I always love when I see my server for a greet and then to shut off my lane a get the bill :(... Also, it was pretty hot, and although shaded, the oscillating fan's in our particular bay were not moving and only pointing at the bay's to the right and to the left of us. Disappointing food, service, technology, and overall experience. I really hate that you have to pay a fee to set up an account. I know that's all topgolf location but it's kind of a weird business practice. Also it was hard to find the staff to help out or set up so I felt like we had to call them over to get any service. The technology kind of sucks. It wouldn't recognize a lot of hits we did and it was kind of disappointing. Also the waving technology to get the ball to come out took many attempts and was really slow. It also stopped prematurely so felt scammed out on the full time. Also the staff at the front doesn't really know any information on some of the deals. I asked about the monthly membership and the stuff just said look online as they didn't know anything about it but it was advertised in front of them. Our family went to Topgolf to celebrate my Dad's 84th birthday and it was a great time as it always is at Topgolf. It was a hot day, over 100 degrees, and we very thankful to have fans blowing at all times for the nice breeze. The ambiance is always impressive at Topgolf and the customer service is on point at all times. Our server took very good care of us and was on point with our food and requests. The food is terrific at Topgolf. I ordered the turkey club sandwich with tater tots and it was delicious! The pretzel bites and pizza are also wonderful. Topgolf has a full bar available and the draft beer selection is very good as well. The golf range is fun entertainment and it is always fun to hit some golf balls and enjoy each other's company. It does not matter how good or bad you are at golf. It is all about having fun and spending time with family or friends. Topgolf is always a blast and I will continue to come here with family or friends if I am looking for a fun activity to do on a weekend or during the week. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful to each other. Although this day not so much. We needed a golf tea and ask a staff member for one and because he was not our waiter he wouldn't help us and wouldn't help our waiter on multiple different occasions. We also had issues with our monitors not working but he called over the tech staff and they got it working in no time. The food is ok for this type of establishment. We like the pizza. Hot honey pepperoni. Fries are ok. The beer and drinks are good as well. For best experience if adults request 2nd and 3rd floor. If you have little ones I would stay on bottom floor. I think this is a great Topgolf! This is my second time at this location and I came for a work holiday party. I loved the holiday decorations and drinks! I had one of each winter/holiday drink and the Hot Shot Cider was the best. The servers were great. The food was buffet style and it was decent, some items were better than others (the chicken tenders were my favorite). I really liked their chicken wings the last time I was at this Topgolf. I tried all the Topgolf games and I liked the Block Party game the best, but all of the games were fun! I went again and unfortunately not much has changed in terms of my overall experience. I still have really high expectations for this place, especially considering the location and what it is, which is considering themselves a luxury social golf hangout area. My waitress was very kind, I really liked her and thought she was helpful, but I felt that she was a little slow but it was probably hard since we were at the bay near the end. One the the biggest issue I had was trying to get my waitress's attention, for example we didn't have silverware or napkins and stuff like that, or needed refills and I would have to go out of my way to ask someone to get my waitress. At one point, another person came to drop off our food or bus? Our table, and I asked if we could get a refill and she said " That's not my job. I don't do those" then walked away. It was very uncomfortable and would have rather her saying that she would go tell someone else to do it but instead she just left us and it was very uncomfortable. read more

My family of 4 decided to try this place because usually all four of us have a very different taste and we end up checking our mobiles (a lot) whenever we try to do something together Believe it or not at top golf no mobiles came out from pockets because all of us were two busy beating each other's score.. the place was open, clean and we were given a private section to play.. we thoroughly enjoyed the time .. angry bird simulator was a family favourite! We ordered non alcoholic drinks and chips with dips.. our server was attentive and polite. Awesome time spent. Entry fee is pretty reasonable .. Already blocked a date to go back Need I say more .. I reserved the "Tailgate Package" with two bays for 7-12 people for a birthday party. The experience was not worth the cost. Our server was unaware of what was included with the package causing delay and confusion. Our party started about 15 minutes late, our server was slow getting the games turned on (we had to ask for them to be turned on). The manger on duty was apologetic. He placed our ice cream cake in the fridge while we waited. Once we were seated at our bay, he was kind enough to provide us with a table for gifts. The food was delayed in coming out. When I asked about the food, our server stated that it will be about another 30 minutes. Surprisingly, as I was inquiring about the food that was included with the package, a flatbread pizza was delivered to the table bc a party guest was hungry and placed an order. After further complaint, the food was delivered about 20 minutes later. I was not impressed with the food included with the package. The dips were not tasty: Kickin Dip 5/10, Dill dip (3/10), chips overcooked and unappetizing (1/10), the Mac and cheese bites were okay 6/10, ordered bone-in wings received boneless wings (3/10), the pork sliders were also unappetizing: the bread was hard, the pork's was dry and the coleslaw was runny (2/10). A few weeks back, a group of friends made plans to go to the beach. After the group's primary plans were canceled, the group decided to meet here. Topgolf did a great job (on short notice) accommodating a fairly large group of approximately 30-35 ppl. Participants receive a designated area that will allow 1-10 users (if I remember correctly). Topgolf ensured each of our Bays were consecutive. Also, we received safety instructions and simplified game instructions. I'm a complete novice to golf beyond putt-putt. The instructions were useful, however it will take patience and time to fully understand how each of the games are scored and the best way to WIN (welp!). However, the process works so that you enter your name (email for first timers), determine a time limit, determine a game, and begin. The system knows where your ball lands and attributes points depending on the game. Overall a fun and interactive experience. I'd definitely grab a group and return. Please note flies/wasps can be an issue, especially if you order food/drinks. I did not order food or drinks, but there were reasonable drink specials and I heard the drinks were very good. Made a reservation for Saturday night at the Durham location. I'm glad we did, when we walked in the people in front of us were told there was a two hour wait. I highly suggest you make a reservation for the weekend, our time was 8:00 but we arrived at 7:30 and was told we probably wouldn't be able to play until 8:00, which was fine. Went to the bar on the bottom floor, there were two bartenders and no one greater us, acknowledged us, nothing. Went waited there for 15 mins before the bartender asked if we needed anything. We asked if there were bars on other floors and she said yes all three so we went to the third floor since our bay would be there. I'm a great tipper and I have a problem not tipping even if the service is subpar. My partner gets on me all the time about this. I refused at that point to have her wait on us and give her a tip that she didn't deserve. On the third floor Ivory greeted us as soon as we walked in and sat at the bar. We ordered 3 shots and 4 beers. I then received the text that our bay was ready, asked to close out and I was shocked at the 82.00 bill. I looked at the itemized bill and we were charged for 5 shots. Brought this to Ivory's attention and she stated she would need to get a manger. If you know topgolf, you know the time starts when the bay is assigned. I dint want to want on a manager so just told her to make us two more shots and we will take the with us. We arrived to our bay, and since we had already checked in online our names were up and ready but the bay was not! Table was dirty, trash everywhere. I grabbed the nearest person who said they would get someone over to clean it up. Our waitress Dyanna came over shortly after and apologized about the table being dirty and took our order for drinks. We had the bay reserved for two hours, and about an hour in we decided to order food. We went with hot honey pepperoni pizza, fries, and they had these chicken sliders on the menu as a package meal but not available to order so we went with the chicken katsu sliders. The food arrived to us about 40 mins later and the fries weren't even hot! The chicken sliders were burnt and the side of ranch we ordered came even later. Came here last summer with some friends. We were super exited that a TopGolf opened up near our home. This place has great gameplay and has better technology compared to other similar golf venues. Obviously the prices can be steep at times so plan accordingly, however they are most reasonable times you can attend (off peak). Went with a party of eight for two bays for two hours. We arrived early but didn't get our bay assignment until 8 minutes after our reserved time. Clock apparently started at the reservation time. The console at the tee for one of the bays wasn't working so we had to wait 15 minutes for it to be reset. The manager came and gave us back 15 minutes. That's fine they were responsive eventually and made it right but I had a really hard time finding anyone to tell them about the issue. Server all the way down other end of third floor was the only staff member I could find. Our server showed up and took orders but the food took 45 minutes and came out incomplete - my pizza showed up 20 minutes before my wife's food. I'm not going to be rude and eat in front of her so I waited and enjoyed cold pizza. Once we placed the initial order and food came I saw the server again near the end when we wanted more drinks. My daughter's chicken tenders showed up with just fried breading and no chicken inside any of the pieces. The order was replaced but I didn't realize until after that I was charged for the replacement and the original. Also the replacement took so long we were eating the birthday cake we brought with us at the same time. No napkins ever showed up from our server - we had to steal some from the catered event at the adjacent bay. Sorry to whoever used the clubs after me as I'm sure there was some honey pepperoni pizza residue. This was really bottom of the barrel service. The golf and people I was with were fun and made it a good birthday. But 420$ after food and beverages was about twice what this should have been given the delays and horrible service. Great experience! Visited on an abnormally cold evening for here in NC. We were able to secure unreserved seating in the second level which was nice and appreciated. Luckily their outdoor set up is great with heating as we were able to stay outdoor and still stay warm. The checkin staff was very welcoming and accommodating for a novice group visiting their first time and not understanding how things work. Service nice seated was attentive and quick. Food (appetizers) were great as were the drinks. We did try to watch the hornets basketball game after but they do not seem to have the paid services for sports. Something to keep in mind if you expect to hang out indoors and have a pick of what you'd like to watch (if call ahead of time). I will definitely be coming back! Slot of fun for groups. read more

So there's a party of nine of us and we walked in and asked for two areas and was told that it was gonna be two hours.. this is completely understandable since it is the day after Thanksgiving. We have been eating and drinking for the last two hours and when we went to go check in on our spot they told us since we did not make a reservation that it would be another two hours because they keep skipping us for the people who did. First off, what kind of bullshit is this!!?? If we walk in you should recommend us making an online reservation or doing it for us since we're literally right there. I don't know if it's the person behind the counter that screwed up or what but we honestly will never come back here ever again. We just spent a fortune at your bar to be then treated like this. They had warmers outside that kept the temperature nice and I even got warm and needed to take off my coat. The food was we order a bunch of apps with some beers. First time at the Durham/RTP Top Golf and the weather is beautiful. For that reason, there's a bit of a wait (1-2 hours). I had a truly frustrating experience at Topgolf Durham during what was supposed to be a nice date night. We had a booked reservation, yet when we arrived, they made us wait past our reserved time. First, we were told, "They're cleaning your bay." Then we were told we could go to a specific bay number they provided. When we got there, it was already occupied by guests who were having dinner and had just placed their order. How does that even happen? By this point, we had already been waiting over 30 minutes. We found a staff member who said he would "talk to the guests" and try to get them to leave faster. We were left standing there awkwardly while he said he was "talking to the manager" and told us to just wait. This was incredibly uncomfortable -- especially for a date. Unfortunately, it didn't end there. Once we finally got settled, there was no server around for quite a while. Even though we mentioned early on that we wanted to order drinks and food, no one came. Our drinks finally arrived almost an hour later. We were playing hungry and sober the entire time. When we tried to order dinner afterward, we were told the food would take at least another 30 minutes and that we would need to eat inside. After all the delays and confusion, we decided not to order at all. This was honestly one of the most disorganized and poorly managed customer experiences I've ever encountered. For a place that markets itself as fun and social, the lack of coordination, communication, and basic service was shocking. We took my son and his friend for his birthday. Facilities were clean, games fun. However, food service completely ruined the outing. We ordered 2 appetizers. Only one arrived. Our host came back a bit later to check on the second one (it showed as sent back). We ordered meals with roughly an hour left in our 90 minute block. With 10 minutes left, 2 of the 4 meals arrived (but of course, not my son's). I asked if we'd be allowed to stay in the bay to eat when the other 2 arrived, and were firmly told no (somehow the bay next to us, who ordered at the same time, received food, and was allowed to stay). When time ran out, no sign of the other 2 meals. I love Topgolf in concept, but where things can go awry is in service and machine reliability. For us, service was painfully slow and we had technical issues with our bay. Service-wise, I don't think it was entirely our server's fault. Our server was polite, friendly, and got us what we ordered/requested. It just took way too long. A couple examples: (1) I don't think we got water until maybe 30-45 minutes into our two-hour visit and (2) we didn't get any napkins until maybe an hour in (and we had to ask for them). During our visit, the staff situation looked like a bit of a cluster and the servers appeared stretched thin. Machine-wise, we kept having problems getting balls to dispense and registering players correctly. Also, our bay needed a ball refill in the middle of our game. All of this led to wasted time (downtime) that we paid for. Above are the main reasons for my three-star rating. This Topgolf location in Durham opened on April 12, 2024. It's situated just off I-40 exit 282 (Page Road), between Research Triangle Park and the Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU). It's in a central location, convenient to all three Triangle cities. Currently, this is the only Topgolf location in the Triangle. There's a Drive Shack (competitor) in Raleigh, but I heard Topgolf is nicer and better than Drive Shack in general. I've never been to a Drive Shack, so I can't say from personal experience. In North Carolina, there are two other Topgolf locations in Charlotte and a new one planned for Greensboro. A lot of people compare the experience to bowling, where you can rent a lane, bowl, enjoy food and drink, and hang out with people. It's the same at Topgolf, except more technology is involved. For example, every golf ball that is dispensed is registered to a certain player. When that ball is hit, Topgolf's system is able to keep track of where it lands for scoring purposes. The system has several games to choose from. You don't have to be good at golf to enjoy Topgolf. The games are designed for all skill levels. We had a group of six and had the most fun playing the Topgolf version of Angry Birds. Most of the folks in our group, composed of both males and females, weren't golfers and everyone seemed to enjoy Angry Birds the most. I recommend it if you have a lot of non-golfers in your group. Every player in your group has to sign up for a Topgolf account in order to play. It's $5 per person. That's one way they get you. It'd been years since my last visit to a Topgolf. I was surprised to see my membership was still active and all my games had been saved, back to when I first signed up in July 2014. For each game, it shows the date, time, type of game, Topgolf location, number of players, each player's name, and each player's score. Pretty cool. I like how all that data is saved. Games I've played with others include TopScramble, TopChip, TopShot Rookie and Advanced, and TopScore. Drinks we ordered included the Topgolf Margaritas Teremana Reposada (2x at $12 each), a Season Opener ($10) made with New Amsterdam Vodka, ginger beer, and grape juice, Blue Moon beer (2x at $6.75 each), Aperol Spritzes (2x at $12.75 each), an Espresso Martini ($12) made with Kahlua and Ketel One Vodka, and a Spiked Strawberry Lemonade ($10.50) made with Tito's Handmade Vodka. The drinks were fine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I do think Topgolf is a bit of a racket in that the company's pricing is designed so that you'll likely have funds you paid for leftover in your account. Top notch service and food! Lake-The Manager of the 1st floor was amazing! I reserved for the wrong day and he quickly accommodated MY error. He was warm and very friendly. Our server Jasmine was patient and available when we needed her. There were a lot of us there for a birthday celebration. Guests raved over the food and drinks. My only complaint is the $6 fee for non-members that can quickly add up when you have 2 or 3 bays and 18 people playing. This fee should be included in the rental fee for the bays...not sprung on you when you set up your game! They also have a good selection of beverages and food. All of the food and drinks that we have tried have been good. The bay prices do depend on the time of day and day that you visit.
