Nice little coffee/lite meal place off the beaten path, tucked back in the Creamery District. Seating is outdoors and high chairs are available. Very casual ambiance. Excellent coffee. I tried the avocado toast, "Eureka style" (arugula, fresh tomato slices and red pepper flakes added). The bread was a scrumptious, thick sliced wheat or multigrain sourdough, expertly toasted with toppings that were plentiful (maybe just slightly light on the avocado) and made for a great breakfast. Open at 7:30 am.

Cute shop, a little tight inside but plenty of outdoor seating. Just ordered the new cold brew and it came out reasonably quickly. The cafe de la olla was unique and delicious. Will be back with my new punch card for that mole latte!

While visiting the area we dropped in for coffee and a quick bite around 10:30am Their menu looked promising until they told us they were out of all the hot breakfast items, so no tacos or chilaquiles. I asked for the Mexico cold brew....and they were out. So I just got an iced vanilla latte (surprisingly good) and my husband got the Blackberry ice tea (lacking in any flavor at all). As we finished up ordering and paying they told us they could do the chilaquiles, but I opted not to get them when I saw one person working behind the scenes next to a microwave. As we waited for our drinks I noticed they seemed to be a little unorganized at the espresso machine, with one person having to ask for their drink a couple of times. While their pastries looked decent, I couldn't help but notice quite a few flies hovering around the register. All seating is outdoors, but that's to be expected in this wonderful climate. We are really trying to support local businesses while we travel, but this place is disappointing.

Super yummy coffee, the mocha base isn't sweet but in the best way. Matcha is pretty good too when it comes to selection in Humboldt!

My…read morehusband and I were disappointed with everything else :( Service : we stopped by one day as we were driving in the area and accidentally found the place, we walked in and the place was cute, we looked at the menus up at the front and after a minute or two I noticed we were there too late and they were in fact closing up shop for the day- totally okay that was our fault ! Howeverrrr I did wish they at least acknowledged us and said the normal "hey guys so sorry, we're closing down for the day, feel free to check out the menu though and for next time our hours are ..." you know ? I work at a cafe myself so maybe this is personal preference but I've always been told not to ignore potential customers so out right. We came back today a few weeks later since I did want to try it and today our service was better, the girl at the counter was nice ! That's about it though, it's a self serve, self sitting, self table-bussing type place so it really can't be impressive since you kinda do it all yourself anyway but she was nice ‍ Drinks / food : Fiance and I ordered coffees, they were okay- good, not great but whatever. The food though was really where things went wrong. I ordered a kids waffle because I really wasn't all that hungry but my husband was so he ordered the full sized waffle. UHHHHHHH They're the same size ? I was really confused about this because the kids one is $9 which is fine but the adult one was $16 if I remember right and it was the same exact waffle but with whipped cream on top. Mine came with syrup but his did not which I also thought was kinda odd, we ended up just sharing mine anyway but why would something almost double the price be the same size as a child's plate.. The size of the waffle was the size of *maybe* 2 frozen eggs waffles, but possibly even thinner I don't know I guess I was just expecting a nice fluffy thick waffle more than an eggo toast like one. Time: took forever. Coffee took about 20 minutes, food at least another 20, reminder we just ordered what ended up being the tiniest 2 waffles so I don't know how it takes that long to cook.. there were no sides or anything that came with it so it was definitely a simple order that should've been pretty quick imo. I doubt we will be coming back, $50 for 2 alright coffees and eggo waffles that took ~45 mins kinda rubbed me the wrong way but at least we can say we gave it a fair shot ‍

The concept was hard…read moreto figure out at first, but it's basically a cute coffee shop combined with a courtyard garden that has private hot tub and sauna rentals. The reservations get filled quickly so you have to call the day before to reserve a private hot tub or sauna session. We arrived a bit early to our reservation so we stopped by the coffee shop first and I had to order the hot chocolate with added whipped cream because it looked so good from other reviewers photos. And oh my god, it was the best hot chocolate I've ever had!!! It's so rich with a strong chocolate flavor without being too sweet. And the mountain of homemade whipped cream was such a treat and made the whole drink even more decadent and creamy. I also wanted to note the design of the coffee shop felt like I was being transported to a rustic Scandinavian lodge or something, which was really cool. When it was time for our hot tub reservation, we walked through the courtyard to our hot tub and changing area. Each reservation gets their own private hot tub so you don't need to share with anyone else. The space is completely private and can't be seen from anyone outside in the courtyard. It was really nice because the hot tub area had no roof and was open to the air, so you could enjoy the sky and trees feel like you're relaxing "outdoors," and there was even a heated outside shower to rinse off before changing back. The whole thing was such a unique experience and I kept thinking about that hot chocolate, so I had to come one more time the next day before my flight to have it again because I don't know when I'll ever be in Arcata again. Highly recommend this gem!

Space is a little cramped in the front with our big group, but once we got rolling into our groups to go out to the back it was fine. The hot tubs were soo relaxing. BIG, they were soo big! I loved how each had the space to put your things and the lights to let you know you are good or the time is almost up. Great place to check out
