Starting with the fact that nothing is a dollar? This is why store names like 5 Below make sense. Store feels cramped and outdated. Cashiers were slow and some prices rang up different than on the shelf (they were more expensiv). Staff didn't even ask if I wanted a bag, I could have used one. Do they even have them? Then the cashier didn't even offer me my receipt. Overall poor customer service and prices aren't as low as they should be. read more

Family Dollar is literally the only store that is open/operating in the run-down shopping center. This means there's no trouble finding parking, ever. It's very convenient and open late (10 PM). The prices are relatively reasonable, for most items. They offer weekly coupons and they are best accessed on the Family Dollar App/Smart Coupons. Family Dollar often has deals and clearance items throughout the store. A coupon I see often is "$5 off when you spend $25 or more." Family Dollar carries it all. If it's late and you are in the area, it's easy to run in and out. They have household items, cleaning, food & beverage, office & school supplies, party supplies, and so much more. The inventory isn't big, but you'll find the essentials and a little more. They carry way too many items to have a robust inventory in a small store front. The employees at this location are friendly and talkative. They always greet each and every customer. A few things I'd love to see...I'd love to see Family Dollar sell ice and more pet supplies. Also, it's inconvenient to not be able to push the cart out of the store, but I completely understand. No need to elaborate, right? Like I said, it's a small retail store that stocks a range of everyday items. Some items cost slightly more, but that's the price of convenience and some are even cheaper than the $1.25 Tree/Dollar Tree. Family Dollar - Just got these not even 5 min ago and found they were expired - Discount Store Near Me - Vista, California

Quick stop for some household cleaners, laundry detergent and random stuff. I often shop here for the random stuff. FYI - Did you know this store is owned by Dollar Tree? Yep and this place still has dollar items even though Dollar Tree is now $1.25. The staff here are friendly and helpful everytime I come. Many times I've had questions about products and sales, and there has always been someone to help me out. I like that they changed the layout of the aisles. Navigating through the store is much better and makes more sense. read more

I shop at the N Santa Fe location.The male employees are definitely friendlier than the girl employees. I stopped by today at 7pm and I felt so bad for the young man at the register. He was by himself with a long line, a homeless man sleeping outside right by the door and a weird man inside the store eating and drinking without paying. read more

Pretty neat place. It's a dollar store, so don't expect the finer things. Prices are a smidge high, but it's a convenient place in a pinch when you can't get to the grocery store. Staff are fun and friendly. Always have something new and interesting. read more

David, the "store manager" was EXTREMELY rude. I've been coming here for years. A loyal customer to the T. Here's the backstory, no one was at the register so I rang the bell that wasn't placed directly in the front. When I noticed no one was coming I rang it again because I assumed no one heard. Here comes David "only one time" so I said told him "well I didn't think anyone heard me" . He proceeds to say "oh I heard you" with a strong attitude. So I said "well why didn't anyone say I'm coming?" He ignores me then I say "you don't have to be rude about it" and he says "well you don't have to ring the bell that many times. What if you were home and some knocked on your door multiple times?!". I then asked what his name was Poliety and he aggressively says "David and I'm the manager by the way" so then I said "okay David, do you have corporates number?" And he says "google it" so I said "Okay David do you have a last name?" He says "I'm not giving you my information like that I don't have to" fair enough. So I then asked "where is your name tag David?" So that I can make sure he is not giving me a false name. He then says "bye! Get out of here bye! I don't have to speak to you go before I call the police". What? Mind you, I was not rude- check the cameras. I was not yelling, I was addressing him by "Sir" and his government name. If this is how family dollar is conducting itself and treating their loyal customers then I am truly saddened at how poor the customer service has become. To David, I will be filing a complaint against you with corporate and I hope whatever bad mood you were in gets resolved. But thankfully I am not one of those people who would have just walked out of the store with the item after noticing no one was at the desk, I waited for you and you greeted me with disrespect. Not impressed. The store wasn't well-stocked and for the most part, Family Dollar had things in common with Dollar Tree and Big Lots. Prices at Dollar Tree are better and Dollar Tree stocks a wider variety of merchandise. The employees were very kind and helpful answering questions with courtesy and professionalism. Unfortunately the unprofessional staff at this location has treated a disabled (degenerative nerve disease) person with a complete lack of respect & dignity. While attempting to purchase my items I was unfairly treated, yelled at & angrily told to put my mask on, which it was by the way. This poor treatment is unnecessary, sad, & avoidable. If I could give a lesser score I would this comment goes out to the store on east vista way. I have never been treated so rudely by an employee at a supermarket in my life. I went in Thursday after work for water, milk, and some other items that a shopping cart was needed. The only cats I saw were 2 in an idle with some go backs in them so I didnt see any employee I just took the few things out of the one cart and put them in the other then loaded my case of water and milk and was continuing to shop when an employee started yelling at me saying I stole her cart and to use the other one so I was like ok and began to put my things in the other then she started bitching again at me because I took the few things out so I was just like I'm leaving so I walked out and got into my car and thaught I should get her name so I walked back in and asked her for her name and she refused to give it to me and then she said leave the store or she would call the cops and tell them I was harassing her so I left out alot of the rude comments she had made but I'll tell you that she has no business being in customer service read more

If Big Lots and Dollar Tree had a baby, this would be it. Like the other reviewers mentioned, this is not an everything for a buck type of store but the prices are still relatively cheaper than most places. They have a huge selection of holiday decor! Cheaper than Big Lots and better design/quality than that of Dollar Tree. I also saw lots of cheap laundry detergent, paper towels, deodorant, and such. The employees were also very helpful and made sure to point out all the cool sales going on. I would definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

I love the family dollar. I work near there so on my break I always go and shop there. Today I decided to take my mom there because she's never been. I was greeted right when I walked in. The problem I had was when I was checking out. There was this little wooden decoration that said "father" I wanted it but the only one they had was searched. I asked if they can give me a discount. They said they can take off 75cents I was debating if I should get it or not and the cashier was rude and said "if you don't want it I could put it back"with an attitude. I got upset and told her "you don't have to be a smart ass" then the manager started telling me I shouldn't have cused at her. I wouldn't have said that if she hadn't been so rude. The manager keeper yelling at me. I was like it's over. The manager keeper looking at me trying to intimidate me. Her cashier had to tell her to let it go. Overall I love this store and never had a problem. Hopefully they can get there customer service together. read more

I would like comment on the people on East Vista Way at Family Dollar. They are the most friendly kind helpful people the manager the cashiers I live on North Santa Fe and I recently went into the store and this little Mexican girl who's very short and Tiny doesn't say hello doesn't greet you doesn't do anything doesn't say can I help you she looks depressed she looks unhappy. I finally told her you know it won't hurt you to crack a smile for the customers this is why I don't come in here you need to fire her and get rid of her. I would like to comment on this store on East Vista Way do the people who work there Aundrea the manager Cynthia and all the other people there they are the nicest most wonderful people each time I go in Aundrea always says hello how are you we talked we've gotten to know each other Cynthia the manager is a really sweet lady very caring the storage well-organized clean people are really really nice whether the corporate is there or not they are wonderful and I wanted to give them a shout out a high five I go to their store instead of the one down on North Santa Fe where I live. There is one person in on North side of face nice and the managers a little too nice but it's disorganized it's dirty things are just shoved in the Isles can't get through the aisles a lot of times I can't stand that store I don't like going in there but I do go to the one on East Vista Way corporate give them some more money they deserve it they're wonderful people there and this is the honest truth read more
