I was in a pinch and needed some business clothes cleaned. It was Saturday morning, and I had just gotten back from a week of business travel and needed to turn around on Tuesday for another trip. My regular Redmond dry cleaner couldn't do it - they don't have their own equipment - and they sent me to Family. How have I not known about this place? 30 years in business! The owner was so sweet, she took my pile of clothes (and some extra items for my son) and turned the whole order around, right on time! Really helped me out! And gave me a 10% new customer discount. I really hate that I need to leave this poor review of a neighborhood family business, especially during the pandemic, but this has to be said. DO NOT GO HERE! This is not a trustworthy business. Last Saturday, we came in to get a quote for alterations on a karate gi that was too loose. We were very explicit about asking upfront how much it would cost. The woman who runs the place took measurements and started filling out an order slip for us. As she was doing that, I asked again how much is it going to be because we really just wanted to get a quote. She explained that she doesn't do the alterations there and she'd have to check with the person who'll be doing the work and then call us. Not ideal, but we went along with it since she already took the time to do all the measurements. When we got the call with the quote a couple days later, she tells us it's $120 + tax. The gi itself was barely $60, so that's a no-go. We tell her so and that we'll be back to pick the gi up after work this week. We didn't end up making it back there until today (Saturday) and we go in and find out the alteration has already been completed and she's waiting on payment. We have an exchange and explain that we never gave them the green light to do the work and would never agree to paying more than double the cost of the item for it to be altered. We would have just purchased a new gi and tried to sell the loose one to someone else at the dojo. The woman at Family Dry Cleaners, tells us to forget it, we can't have the gi back. So now we're out the originally $60 we paid for the gi and will have to buy a new one anyway. At this point, I'm extremely frustrated and let her know how I felt about their business practices not being transparent and how by doing the work without our approval, they were trying to trap us into doing business with them. She yells at us and calls us cheap. And you know what, yes, we are a very cost-conscious family. We have to be, and I refuse to be taken advantage of. Calling us cheap is not an insult to us, but it does say a lot about her and her business. read more

The RUINED my favorite black shirt! Don't spend money here. The buttons of my designer shirt "had" a cool design but when I got it back they were melted. I went to talk with the Asian woman who owns/ runs the business and she told me that she has 150 shirts to clean every day and couldn't take the time make sure they are all cleaned properly. She went on to tell me that had my shirt been dry-cleaned-by-hand the buttons would have been saved and it was MY FAULT for not pointing out that my designer shirt needed special attention. Additionally she told me to take it back to Nordstroms and they would exchange it for free or to go to a fabric store and buy more buttons. Not once did she say "sorry" I gladly would have paid the additional fee to have it dry cleaned by hand, it was my favorite shirt. Go across the parking lot to the other dry cleaners(Marketplace Cleaners), they will do a better job!!! It's your clothes, you paid good money to wear them DON'T RISK IT. read more

I am dissapointed. This is my first and last time at this dry cleaners. My items were cleaned just fine in terms of cleaning. But, my item was ruined by owner who thought she'd do me a favor by trimming frayed edges of my jacket. I bought the jacket with frayed edges with sort of a rock n roll vibe. But now it is neatly trimmed. You cannot replace strings or frayed edges. She was more concerned to get me to appreciate her "hard work" of trimming rather than apologize or admit wrong doing. We have been using Family Dry Cleaners for over 10 years. They do a great job and are very conscientious. If we need something on a rush basis for an event, they are happy to help us out. My husband likes all of his polo shirts, golf shorts and slacks to be professionally pressed - so they basically do all his laundry! Highly recommend. read more

Do not go to this place. They are complete rip off. Here is how they cheat you. First they display as 99 cents per shirt. After cleaning they charge insanely more money. They come up with all kind of excuses why shirt is not qualified for 99 cents. Even though they dont tell anywhere. If a shirt has logos, then they charge 5.99 per shirt. If buttons are different, they do it. If a shirt has hood, they charge $9.99 cents. They dont have standard list of prices or price sheet. Whatever they say, that's final. This has been our families dry cleaners for at least two decades. When they moved from Woodenville we moved with them. Sang and her family are wonderful people they always are there for us and always get the job done. I actually lost one time a set of gold and imperial jade cufflinks. Had been appraised for insurance purposes in the thousands of dollars. We thought they were gone and Sang called and said she had them. I'd left them in a shirt. I KNOW I'd checked. They do a great job and go the extra mile every time when you need same day service because you were to lazy/ occupied to drop your clothes off. Just a few minutes before noon we realized that we needed two shirts, trousers, and vests dry cleaned that day in order to be ready for work the next day. Family Dry Cleaners agreed to do a special load for us. We were so relieved because two other dry cleaners had turned us down. Well, we lay down for a nap and overslept so they were closed when we returned. We had to purchase new clothes for work the next day. When I returned the next day to pick up the dry cleaned outfits I profusely apologized. I put extra cash on the counter to try to show how sorry I was, but the owner put the cash back in my purse. She graciously accepted my apology and gave a special treat to my granddaughter who accompanied me. They really treated us like family, bending over backwards to try to help us and forgiving us when we messed up. Needless to say, we will continue to bring our dry cleaning to Family Dry Cleaners and we will set alarms if we ever need to return by a certain time. read more

Took a pair of pants here to have them hemmed. They did a beautiful job, the pants fit exactly how I had asked for them. I took off one star because I asked for two buttons to be sewn back on as they were nearly falling off, and they didn't fix them. So that was a bummer, and I'll have to do it myself now. But would recommend for pants alterations and will come again. Haven't used them for dry cleaning yet. read more

I have been going here for a about 3 years now. Their $0.99 advertising is false. They come up with all kinds of excuses for charging you higher at the time of check out. They ruined my son's favourite jacket and the owner had the call to tell me "well you brought it in torn". They also loose clothes. I have lost 2 expensive shirts with them recently.
