I wrote a review back in July,2019 and gave them 5 stars and for that job, they deserved that review. We called on them again in Dec., 2020 because our water heater was not working. We had a Master Agreement on the water heater from Sears, so we called them first. The guy they sent told us the problem was an electrical one and not the water heater itself. It was reading 220 at the breaker box, but only 110 at the water heater. There was an interruption somewhere in the line, and it was causing the problem. We called Family Electric because they had done such a good job the previous time we hired them. This time, not so much. Don't get me wrong, they fixed the problem and got the water heater working again. What they didn't do was finish the job. They were supposed to send someone to repair the drywall that had been cut away to get to the wires by the breaker box and water heater. The other issue was that they were supposed to send two guys to do the repair and only one showed up. My husband had to help Josh with the repair that took about an hour and a half. We tried to call the following week to find out about the dry wall repair and they never answered the phone. When I checked the charge on our credit card, I disputed part of the charge to compensate for my husband having to help Josh and for having to repair the drywall himself. They fought the dispute and went as far as lying to our credit card company. They insisted that they had completed the job, and then started insulting me and our home. I really don't want to repeat what they said, but it was slanderous. In the end, we had to pay the disputed amount, and for that I blame Family Electric for their lies. They are a dishonest company and I would not recommend them any more. Call someone else! read more

Words can't explain how amazing this company is. If you need any type of electrical work done, stop looking for another company and Family Electric. We were doing a large renovation at our business and we needed over 50 outlets installed and over 30 recess lights along with a bunch of other panel electrical stuff here and there (getting rid of old wiring, pulling new lines, installing drop ceiling lighting, connecting custom wall lights, etc). I was referred to them by a friend and WOW was I happy! Joe came out the next day to access the job site. He got back to me the following day with a quote that was very fair. They weren't cheap but at the same time not expensive. Their prices are fair, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, they service is top notch. All of his guys work with a smile and ready to help with anything. They went above and beyond my expectations. They made themselves available to us based on our convenience. We had framers do their framing, they came in, pulled new wiring, left, then came back a few days later for finishes. I could call Joe anytime and he was always available for advice and recommendations which is crucial in big projects like this. I would never ever think about hiring any other electrical company for work I would need in the future. They are my go to guys for me, my family and friends forever. I never write reviews so early, but even after they finished the first phase of their work, I was ready to write a review. They are just amazing and an awesome company. I wish you guys nothing but continued success and keep up the great work. I am very happy and pleased with the service I received from FAMILY electric. Joe was the guy who answered the phone and I never thought anybody would pick up on a Sunday afternoon boy was I wrong. Not only did they show up on time they were in fact early. We needed a bunch of things done and honestly I thought per hour I would be in the tens of thousands. I was very shocked and taking a bath by the fact they only charged by the job thus I knew Price point before the job even started and if any additional charges were two one car they would eat the cost. If that's not oldschool an old world philosophy I don't know what is. I like businesses that practice what they preach and honor and stand behind their commitment to excellence. I want to let all the yelp community know that not only would I use this company again I would recommend them to my family and friends in a heartbeat. I'll be posting pictures shortly of the beautiful LED conversion of all the high hats in my home that they went ahead and changed out for me. We also chose to upgrade our panel box from 150 A two 200 A. After they were finished all the work they picked up the drop Klos said thank you and goodbye we tried to tip the guys but they would not except cash tip. That's pretty rare these days that a company takes care of their people and in fact the customers that they choose to serve. Let me tell you something! I'm not a person who knows many people in the immediate area. I would usually rely upon friends or family to provide a recommendation. When you don't have that it's tough. But I was so happy I called family electric. I could be yammering on to infinity about how pleased we were with the work they did. We had a 1970's electric breaker box and it's caused a ton of drama and issues for our family. We finally decided to stop putting band aid's on a broken arm and pulled the trigger on a professional. To be blatantly honest I thought it would not be a major job but it turned out to be much worse then we thought. I won't do into too many details but let's just say my family is blessed and we are truly lucky we called when we did. We were constantly resetting the breakers and probably added to the problem. Either way now the guys were there till 1:13 am and started at 4:45 pm. They were so nice and hard working. It felt old school like they really cared and would not leave us in the dark. It saved all the meat in my fridge and that would have been horrible because we had just got a large food order when the power went down. We called family electric and they came in about an hr. They actually called to say they were going to be late by 7 minutes. I was beyond impressed. I needed some electrical work done at my home and checked the internet for recommendations to feel comfortable with the company. I came across some excellent reviews about Family Electric LLC. I noted they service Broward and Palm Beach County. I placed the call last week and received a return call within minutes and the owner of the company advised he could send out an electrician within a day to give me a quote. The electrician showed up and started the work the following day. Josh was as professional, knowledgeable and neat in the work he did. Today, with some minor updates to the work, I am over the top with Family Electric and the great work they did. First of all, the phone call gets answered by a person, not voicemail. They also sweep up any work left on the floor and mop to make sure everything is as clean, or cleaner than it was when they walked in. On a lighter note, they are "easy on the eyes" as well and no problem if they worked a little longer. Seriously, however, if there is any electrical work that's needed, run, don't walk to the phone and call Family Electric LLC. I am so happy with this company! Last night was supposed to be hurricane Matthew. Turned out to be hurricane no show, but we still managed to be struck by lightning. We lost all power to our home and I figured even though I wasn't going to get Someone on the phone I'd leave a message and pray that I'd be one of the first return calls In the am. Well, low and behold they actually not only picked up the phone but came out in the middle of the " category 4 " hurricane. They got the power back up and literally just left about 1 hr. Ago. Hi just want to take a second out of my incredibly stressful day to say just how appreciative I am of Family Electric LLC and the work they did in my home on this horrible day during this COVID-19 nightmare. I had a fire in my electrical panel box that was evidently Double lugged on multiple circuit breakers and could've burnt my house down. Family Electric llc in Boca Raton was beyond incredible and did everything in their power to get us up and running while working through the night. Oh my! what a gentleman Joe was on the phone, you don't see that too often these days. I have what is called a zinsco panel box causing havoc and making my appliances go kablooey! Not a good thing. What is a good thing is the service I'm getting right now as they work on removing this cancerous box from out of the wall and into the trash. I opted for the surge protector with the LED light too. It will protect all my appliances from any future power surges. I'm grateful that these boys are here and I will update my review once they are done but I'm sure they're going to do a great job. They even brought me back coffee when they left to get additional materials because my power had to be shut down. I don't normally write reviews apart from local restaurants but I thought this company deserved a five-star one. We came on Sunday night and found out We had power out on one side of the house. I then called fpl and they told me the problem was inside my home and not an fpl issue. I then found family electric. After calling 3 other company's that claimed to be 24/7 family electric picked up the phone instantly. I made an appointment , then did my diligence to check on line to make sure they we in fact licensed and insured. I even checked the bbb... Everything checked out with flying colors. They came in on time, worked on it till it was fixed and were, Extremely professional , polite, and nice. I'm very happy with the job and price! As a mature lady who lost her husband recently it sometimes isn't easy to get work done on your own. He used to do all the hiring and now i have to get on the phone and make sure I'm getting a good honorable company and not one that's going to take advantage of me. I'm very pleased to say Family Electric treated me as their own mother and did exactly what they said they would and quoted me one fair price instead of estimating based on hourly rate which I've experienced with other companies. As a single woman I'm always concerned about hiring anyone in the trades. Being new to Boca Raton/Deerfield area I knew no one and needed an electrician. I threw a dart at a board and took a stab in the dark with "Family Electric". I can whole heartedly say I feel I made a great choice. Greg was super nice and Joe is basically my BFF. I'm happy to know that not every company takes advantage of women and does the right thing. 2 other companies on here who will remain nameless, did the exact opposite. Family Electric, LLC in Boca Raton is the worst company I've ever dealt with. They came out to check the electrical system for my stovetop. The electrician changed the breaker and outlet. Charged me $965. to tell me it's an appliance problem. The guy only needed to unplug the appliance to see it not an electrical issue. The breaker trips only when the appliance is plugged in. I was ripped off and the owner screamed at me on the phone. He should have come out himself to see my breakers are all new and his electrician had no idea what he was doing. He refused to give me a refund for the outrageous charges. A new stovetop is $1200.. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau so they don't scam others. I had a lot of work done by family electric.First and foremost the panel box desperately needed to be changed out, it was long overdue. I had some outlets that stopped working and then my appliances started to go. Power was completely restored and everything is functioning again like a brand new home! People sometimes overlook the panel's importance in a home if its outdated things start to go wrong and we immediately blame the appliances when it is actually the power source causing the problem. I also had a security system installed as we are living in a very different time now and I just didn't feel safe anymore without any security. Scary times. A weekday you are lucky to get anybody on the phone in South Florida / Boca Raton area. These guys actually picked up almost instantly. they came out and got us up and running very quickly. my greatest respect for companys that really do what they promise in the ads. im taking the time to write this because its well deserved. they are outstanding and im a horrible type typist as you can probably see. Last night a power surge caused the lights in my house to go out several times. There was a lightening storm. I called FPL who came out to say the lines going into the house melted due to an old circuit panel box. They suggested contacting a licensed electrician and it was out of their hands. I researched finding Family Electric at the top of google. The ad stated they were open 24 hours so I clicked and called. The owner was professional. Of course they were busy due to the storm, but a technician came out in a short time period and replaced my old panel. I plan to recommend and use this company in the future. read more

Recently moved to south Florida from New York and haven't had any luck with the workers down here...had to renovate my home and needed it done as quickly as possible.
