They are highly ethical and treat both their patients and staff with the utmost respect. I have been examined by Dr. Wood for floaters. I am developing a cataract (fortunately does not need surgery) but when the time comes I would travel to Arlingon Heights from Chicago. I wish we could rate different areas of the practice. Doctors and front desk are between 4 to 5 stars. Unfortunately, our experience with the optical department has been consistently disappointing. They rarely answer the phone, and when we do reach someone, the staff often come across as rude and uninterested in helping. Rather than offering guidance or possible solutions, we were simply told to contact our insurance company. Our insurance has remained the same for decades, yet we were told the optical department does not accept it, even though the medical office does. That inconsistency was confusing, and no one took the time to explain why or help us understand our options. We will continue coming to this practice because we value the doctors and the medical care they provide. However, due to our experiences with the optical department, we will be purchasing our eyewear elsewhere.

Appointments take longer than necessary. Second his office is only open 4 days instead of 5. And the hours open vary from 9-4 to 9-5. With no weekend hours and one of the weekdays unavailable, it is very inconvenient to try and schedule an appointment. And if he's in surgery? Forget about it. All I want to do is get my prescription updated so I can buy new glasses and contacts but I have to put it off even further to accommodate their poor excuse of availability.
