Dr. Assell is awesome! I went to the doc and he quickly found the scratch on my eye and helped me heal it. I did my initial appointment at his other office and was so happy with the entire experience. My follow-up was at Image Optics and I didn't love the front staff. They seemed flustered with three people in shop and a bit disorganized, keeping some people waiting and getting a little snippy with them. If you have an option between this location and Dr. Assell's other location in Schaumburg, I would go to the other location. read more

I have an eye condition called blepharitis. Weird name, I know. I've been to my regular doc and an eye specialist/surgeon and could not get this under control. They've all prescribed different antibiotics. Dr. Assel helped me to manage this better than the other 2 docs by recommending a Bruder Mask and giving my guidance on how to manage this very uncomfortable and often painful condition moving forward. We had been going elsewhere in Palatine for my son's eye care needs, and I found myself needing an eye check up and went here because I haven't been happy at the other place. The staff was super friendly and I loved Dr. Morgan and the help I got from one of the ladies who helped with choosing glasses (sorry, I forget her name). This woman even remembered that I'm a teacher and when I came back for my fitting, asked me about everything that we had talked about in my prior visit. Great memory! When I came in this second time, I had my sons with me and Dr. Morgan was walking through the lobby and came over to introduce himself to my kids. Dr.Morgan is wonderful - my ENTIRE family has been seeing him for over a decade now. He is funny, sweet, and makes me very comfortable. He has treated all of our eyes with gentle care and corrected any issues we've had. My only complaint is that his prices for frames are pretty steep, but you get what you pay for - he sells quality brands and his staff are very knowledgeable about what works for your face shape. read more

I have mono vision and not all optometrists know how to determine the correct lenses for eyeglasses when someone has one nearsighted and one farsighted eye! Dr. Assell always gets my prescription correct! In addition to be being very skilled and knowledgeable, he is quite a like able guy. I appreciate someone who has a sense of humor like he does! Michelle, the manager, values their clients and will work with you to not only help you pick out the best frame, but rectify any problems should they arise. We have just moved to Arlington Heights from living in Canada for close to 9 years and were in need of eye exams for my kids. Not knowing anyone here, I relied on the reviews posted on Yelp, keeping in mind that some reviews may be posted by "friends" of the providers or from those who have a vendetta against the provider. Please know that I am neither. My kids, ages 6 and 9, boy and girl went there today for eye exams and it prompted me to write this review. My experience began only two working days ago with a lovely conversation with the receptionist. So, first off, got an appointment when needed after school within two working days of my call. Good start. Then, arrived today, had no trouble parking and was greeted by a lovely smile. Even better start. Filled out the necessary paperwork and was led back with two kids in tow immediately. Then we met Dr. Morgan. What a great person. Knowledgeable, kind, calm, good sense of humor, GREAT with the kids, which is huge when you have a son who hates going to get his eyes checked. My son required no additional exams or glasses and my daughter's prescription for her glasses remained unchanged essentially. He did not try to "sell" me on anything additional nor did he ask if I was going to schedule an appointment for myself (clearly he could see I was wearing glasses). I have to say that I am beyond happy to have had the experience I had today. I will not hesitate to go see Dr. Morgan myself and my husband will be booking an appointment with him shortly. He is in the market for a new pair of glasses and it seemed to me that Image Optics had an extensive collection of glasses, although I have no knowledge of pricing. Normally I don't write reviews. However I thought people ought to know about my experience with image optics. Initially I liked Dr. Morgan. He was very friendly and everything was going great until he noted that I wasn't going to be purchasing contacts from him that day. I said I was holding off for now until I can do more research on the cost. He became very upset and said "I thought you would want to support a local business." I felt very uncomfortable and did not say anything. He then said "Would anyone else give you a free pair of trial lenses?" Again, I was silent because I felt uncomfortable and I didn't know what to say. He then pushed further and said "Do you? Do you? Answer me." I still remained silent and was shocked over what was happening. If he didn't pressure me into buying contacts from him I probably would have been a repeat customer. However now I will definitely be looking elsewhere. read more

I recently started coming here for our eye care and could not be happier. It is a nice change of pace to walk in to a business and be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I felt like they truly appreciated me as a customer. I arrived 15 minutes early and only waited a few minutes to be seen. Dr. Assell was great. The exam was thorough and my new contacts were ordered and delivered to my house so I didn't even have to drive back to the office to pick them up. Update as of this afternoon: I needed an emergency repair of my broken glasses today, drove to Image Optics in Palatine, and found THEY ARE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS. I ended up going elsewhere for a FREE on-the-spot repair, even though I did not buy my glasses there. read more

I visited Schaumburg office (at intersection of Schaumburg Road and Barrington Road) on 4/1 for eye test. Doctor's examination was very quick than I had experienced at other eye care centers. I am very disappointed with their staff behavior. If you don't by glass from them they treat you very unplesant way. When I asked for prescription, it was handed over to me as scribbling and was told the my glass providers can understand the details. Though multiple times I requested details of my Axis information they refused to provide one. I am had less than pleasant experience and don't recommend this center to anyone. read more
