They prepare meals, help with homework, and it's been a relief having them to count on. Miss Zohra and Ms Jaylen have been with us from the very beginning and they're of course our favorites. Haha , we are lucky to have them all. Kids don't lie and my kids are always smiling and so excited to see them.

Both of my children attended this school, and I can honestly say that I have watched them grow--not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and as little human beings. The foundation they received here has meant so much to our family. There are things being said about this facility that I simply cannot agree with based on my own experience as a parent. I can only speak from what I have personally seen, and what I have seen is dedicated teachers who care about children, work hard, and give so much of themselves every day. My little one struggled when he first started. Adjusting was not easy for him, but the teachers never gave up on him. They were patient, loving, and understanding. They helped him feel safe, helped him settle in, and helped him learn. That kind of impact goes far beyond a classroom. Those are memories and skills that stay with a child. By the time children move on to TK, they are prepared in so many ways. They know their letters and numbers, but more importantly, they have learned how to communicate, socialize, follow routines, show manners, and become more independent. Even simple things made a huge difference in our home. My children used to want to eat only in their high chairs or while I followed them around the house. This school taught them how to sit at the table, eat properly, follow routines, and be part of a group. Those may seem like small things to some people, but as a parent, I know how meaningful they are. I want to give a special thank you to Ms. Deb and every teacher who has poured their time, patience, energy, and heart into these children. You may not always realize how much parents notice, but we do. We see the long days. We see the patience. We see the effort. And we see the difference you make. People can write whatever they want, but my children's growth is something I have witnessed with my own eyes. That is my experience, and that is what I choose to speak about. He's gone to this center since he was 3 1/2 years old - 4 years of taking tuition money from me, and his parent and subsidy money from CC County. So far I am not especially satisfied with the services I have had. They did provide funding for me to have an employment coach, but due to issues that shall remain confidential, I am currently unemployed, and getting a job has been put on the backburner while I sort things out. I live on my own but my parents continue to support me financially. It's difficult for people in my situation to get help tailored to our needs. I am higher functioning than the majority of their clients are, but my anxiety has made obtaining and maintaining employment a challenge. The services they have told me about really don't sound like they would be of much use, as they are more for people who aren't able to care for themselves and struggle with basic life skills. Then there's the issue of them never seeming to have my current information on file, despite me giving them the information multiple times. A few years ago I changed my phone number. I gave them my new number, and in addition I changed the voicemail greeting for my old number to say that I was no longer taking calls at that number and to please call me at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. But for some reason my new number never made it into their system. They do have my email address, which hasn't changed, and I do periodically receive emails from them. The date of my annual case review came and went and I didn't hear anything from them, either via phone or email. Finally I called them to ask what was going on. It took several weeks for my case manager to get back to me. When they finally did, they told me that, because they hadn't heard from me in a while and were unable to reach me because my phone number had been deactivated, they closed my case. They told me they emailed me about it but I never received any emails. So I had to go through the process of reopening my case. Then about eight months ago I moved. I gave them my new address, and my case manager came to my house, both to assess my living situation and go over various stuff with me regarding the services they can provide. Since I'm not currently seeking employment, I didn't sign up for any services. My case manager said they would check in with me every three months, but several months went by and I didn't hear anything from them. Then a few days ago I received an email saying that they tried to send me a letter by mail so it was returned to them, and they scanned it and sent it to me in an email. When I looked at the address, I saw that it was my old address, where my parents are now living. They are my emergency contacts, so sending stuff to that address normally wouldn't be an issue since my parents would just give it to me. However, the reason why the letter was returned to them was that they misspelled the name of the street! The USPS didn't recognize the address, hence why the letter was returned. I don't think that this was the case manager's fault, since they visited me at my current address (not only that but they never visited me at where I was living before). So whoever is in charge of handling the information they have on file needs to make sure everything is up to date. I check my phone and my email on a regular basis throughout the day, so if they were to contact me, I would get the notification. Like a lot of other organizations, while they are coming from a good place, they are poorly managed, and as a result are difficult to work with.

He went to one of the worst medical schools in the country, and has extremely poor bed side manner. Having a child diagnosed with any disability is very hard and you need to have a dr who has compassion and sympathy. When we told our case manager about our disapproval she stated a lot of people have shared the same results. So please if you read this ask for a dr other than Paul fujita

We absolutely loved Little Diamonds and already miss the wonderful staff so much. Our daughter…read moregraduated from their TK program in May after being there for 2 years. What initially drew us to this preschool over others in the area is that they have a Spanish program, but when I met the Director, Ms. Lisandra, I knew it was the program for us. She is kind, loving, real and very knowledgeable in childhood development. She treats the children like her own grandbabies and I never once had to worry if our daughter was sad or having a hard day, knowing that she would tend to her like her own. Actually, the same can be said about all of the teachers at the school, which is an extreme rarity. Our daughter is definitely not for the faint of heart - she can be quite "spicy" and most certainly can hold her own so it takes a skilled and patient teacher to be able to deal with her strong personality and Ms. Laura did just that. She kept our daughter in check and the two of them developed such a strong bond because of it. We can't say enough good things about this preschool.

The Boys and Girls Club of Martinez (aka Diablo Valley) is a "home away from home" and a positive place for for kids. It offers various programs including character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports. My Site Manager and her husband have been personally involved with this very worthy organization for years. My company is also a long time supporter and many of my colleagues volunteer many hours of their own time (including some periodic food bank work). At one time many years ago, I served on their Board of Directors. However, I have had no direct involvement with the Boys and Girls Club of Martinez for several years. I just got busy with other charitable activities closer to home. The Boys and Girls Club of Martinez also organizes various fund-raising events throughout the year. These have included, a Crab Feed, the annual Auction, the Pete Ginocchio Memorial Golf Tournament, Power Lunch, and the Day for Kids. These events are not only enjoyable, but are attended by various interesting and very caring members of the greater Diablo Valley community.
