    My precious girl!

Pleasant environment, welcoming front desk staff, and detailed vets. I recently became a new client!

Second Time around...new pet of course! So this is my second time using this vet for my new baby!! In my previous life, we used Family Veterinary and always had great service! It is a lovely facing setting a ways back from that road on 450 in Crofton! It's a very nice facility and very spacious! I'm my previous experience, the vets and vet techs were so awesome and always very knowledgeable! However, I recently brought home a new baby!! I needed a vet and went back to a place where I received awesome service! Due to covid is was very hard to get an appointment, but when we got in, I remembered why I liked this place soo much! I've had two visits so far are both were great as far as the visit and the service! My baby Ace is a shih tzu so he's a small breed and on the burst visit, I was given so much information about his breed and things to look out for in the future! He was a little afraid but they were so sweet to him and myself! I love this vet practice! I look forward to additional visits and using them when needed! My only thing is they are pricey! For my first two visits, I never paid less that $175! So the service and bedside manner is awesome, but it domes with a price!

This is the BEST place you can take your pets. We have been customers of FVC since 2005. We've only ever owned cats and they treat them like their own. Callie moved from PA to MD with her family, she was 7 when she started going here up until she passed at 18 due to kidney failure. Gizmo started going here at less than a year old but sadly passed around the age of 3 due to a heart defect. Loki was a stray that we found and started to bring here but passed early as well due to liver failure. Baby was 8 weeks old when she started going here. Now she is 15 Venus and Neptune are 2-year-old sisters that enjoy coming in one carrier. I will never take my pets anywhere other than FVC. The care, the concern and the followup CANNOT be beat. Thank you!!

Lola happy at her vet appt!

My cat received x rays and bloodwork as part of a potential asthma diagnosis. My cat had been coughing and wheezing 4-5x/day. The x rays revealed a lung infection and a lot of inflammation. Dr. Fenner was patient, kind, generous with her time, soothed any anxiety I had about future possibilities, answered all of my questions in depth, explained the reason why for any tests she recommended and was very approachable. The antibiotic Dr. Fenner prescribed cleared up all of my cat's coughing. During a later phone call, Dr. Fenner explained what all of the blood work results meant and stayed on the phone with me a long time making sure all of my questions were answered. Ultimately, we had a great result- bloodwork looked good and my cat likely won't need an inhaler. I felt truly taken care of and secure after both the in office and the phone interaction. I look forward to bringing my cats to Dr. Fenner in the future and would recommend her to anyone with pets. In addition, the techs we saw on our last two appointments were excellent and the front desk staff were helpful in rectifying an issue with the amount of antibiotic we were given.

This was a regualr check up, I wanted…read moremy dog to be in care of a veterinary near me, connected with my dog and very happy to take on the care of my dog. I wanted both my dog and I to know we have a veterinarywho cares. The front desk staff at Veterinary Housecall were so kind to squeeze me in for my dog's appointment, I had gotten the time mixed up but looking back I believe they should have told me to come back, bc they set aside a solid hour to look at all pets and get to know him, I was not aware of that, being a new dog mom. As it were, the visit was rushed and anxiety built up with my dog being apart from me, alone, with strangers. I felt uncomfortable to let him go into another room for his examination. Come to find out, my dog had matting on his tail, ears and around his groin area. The doctor came in after my dog's examination and said she was going to shave him because of matting, I have him groomed but not close for discomfort. The assistant and I comforted my dog as the vet did the shaving it took about 10 minutes but I felt rushed and my dog had severe shaving burns on his private area, lower tail area and top of his head. It looked as though my dog was a completely different dog and in pain. She didn't give advice for medication of antibiotic or advice on a compress...nothing. I had to Google what the vet should have suggested or advised. He spent most of the night crying and not able to be comfortable bc of the redness in the areas shaved. It was a terrible thing for him with no relief from Vetenary Housecall. Another issue was the billing person who was very rude after I was prepared to spend $80, as was told to me, the first regular visit is to be, when I made the appointment but it escalated when the doctor shaved him, in which I was not aware that she would at that time. The billing person walked in and was extremely unpleasant, this person lashed out, then mentioned to me, that person was not informed by the staff of the visit type and assumed it was for shaving my dogs tail matting and I was there for that purpose of shaving my dog and did not want to pay. That was so terrible in that assumption. I called this morning and the front desk duo were understanding of my dogs pain but not willing to help with medication unless I sent over pictures of the redness in the groin and tail areas. I am so fed up with that whole business. In this experience, I must say, I did not do my due diligence with regards to looking for a more caring owner/pet veterinary facility. I thought of closeness and familiarity within the community rather than the caring attention, communication and quality veterinary care for my dog and for me bc us pet parents deserve all of that. My advice, as a new dog owner, ask neighbors who have pets, ask people at dog parks and just know your pet and being an owner of all pets do deserve the very best care and gentle treatment as our children do.

Our little 12.5 year old chihuahua, Craigie/Pico (Foster family had named him Pico, but we called…read morehim Craigie after a very close family friend that passed right before we adopted him), took a turn for the worst and Bowie Towne Vet was able to get him in at 11AM the Monday morning I called. They did what they could and took bloodwork that would be in the next day, but later that same day he passed on his own, which obviously was very hard on us. When Dr Seddon called the next day with the bloodwork, he explained it was very indicative that he more than likely had a tumor on his pancreas because of how low his blood sugar was and there was no way to cure that. He also said he was quite positive that he wasn't suffering during this time at all, which meant a lot! The cremation was handled so amazingly and even included a paw print. I am not typically a fan of conventional vets, but Dr Seddon is a top-notch, compassionate, exceptional conventional vet that has always been a go between for my 3 chihuahuas when something urgent comes up and I can't make it out to the holistic vet (Healing Paws). He has worked on Nico and Roxie, my other two dogs several times for issues and been super helpful! His whole staff is top-notch and compassionate! I truly love Bowie Towne Vet and am so appreciative I have such an outstanding vet practice so close to home. I wrote all of this with tears over the loss of our sweet little boy, but also mixed with tears of joy of appreciation for having such an amazing vet location that was so supportive and helpful during this hard time.
