The salad was fresh and not overloaded. The overall experience felt very relaxed. I ordered the house chicken with the chef's vegetable of the night, which was squash, zucchini, peppers, and onions and a side salad. I didn't get a photo of the side salad but it was topped with bacon crumbles, hard boiled egg, house made croutons, and it came with a piece of cheese toast that was to die for! I've been doing burgers and shakes and new flavors of ice cream and I'm discovering that chocolate ice cream and its many descendants are quite delicious. For example I beta tested the Kentucky Fudge Pecan Pie in a baby sized cup and found that I love it! I also reaffirmed that I have zero allergic reaction to pecans. Furthermore, I discovered that pie crust bits in ice cream are flipping fantastic and something I will include in my extensive list of things I am thankful for come this November's Turkey holiday. Props to the Ice Cream expert whom I had been told crafts these flavors in house. Is it some kind of Ice Cream elf? Maybe. That doesn't even matter. Who or whatever is making this delicacy is doing a great job at creaming this ice with fantastic flavor and ruining my ability to drop this final 4 lbs I'm trying to shed. My colleagues and I were staying in a nearby hotel and after driving past Famous Bistro I checked out the Yelp reviews. So many five star reviews! We decided to give it a try and made reservations for a Thursday evening. We dined outside because it was a perfect October evening. Our server was wonderful. We started with spanakopita bites which the chef recommended and they were flakey and delicious. The homemade bread was excellent. I ordered Salmon Dijonaise and it was served with herb roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I also ordered a side of haricot verts. Everything was perfect, and the salmon had great flavor. My colleague ordered a small spinach salad and Sundried tomato pesto penne. Servings were generous and we ended up asking our server to box up half of our entreès. Lunch for tomorrow, yay! The food and service could not have been better. Highly recommend this family restaurant.
