First-timer came here for lunch last week. The server we had was nice - though she went into detail about a lot of the menu items, which was almost overwhelming. But I ultimately decided on the bbq wings and a side cesar. Wings were not the best I've had but they were good. Corn on the cob was good. I liked the Devil's Spit sauce they had. I've forgotten how good the food was here lol. The cornbread is just how I remember which is delicious! I came early in the day so thankfully there wasn't a lot of people. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I thought it was good. The only complaint was that there could have been more meat but that's it. And our server was wonderful. read more

Walking in the hours had changed due to the Coronavirus going around. When we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by Deliia. We were sat and our server Betty was top notch. She was warm and welcoming and had a great attitude. Her service was perfect, she was attentive, guided us through the menu (first timers), and offered suggestions. We went ahead and got the feast, and it was delicious! While eating we noticed the host Deliia wiping down tables vigorously and making sure she got the entire surface. This helped ease my mind because you could tell they take cleanliness very serious here. Betty brought us out ketchups and barbecue sauces in cups so we wouldn't have to touch the bottle other guests had used! Top notch Famous Dave's! Overall the food is decent but certainy not the best bbq I've had. Ofcourse, I've had the ribs. The meat itself is tastey and I like the fact that they have 6 different sauces ranging in hotness. The service was good. Brisket is hit or miss. Sometimes it is just right, sometimes a little dry. The ribs are not as good as other bbq places around the area like Sweet Baby Rays. Their dry rub tended to be a bit on the dry side. The St. Louis was meaty but not quite as tasty as other places but not bad either. It offers average food but the sweet potatoe fries are excellent. The salmon was also pretty good. The BBQ is pretty average. read more

Went to grab dinner for my husband, because I was in the area. I ordered the feast for two to go. My husband was the only one to eat it and he said it was terrible, bland and chewy he stated that the ribs tasted boiled, the beef brisket tasted like it was microwaved and dabbed with sauce and the the roasted chicken was old. Come to think of I didn't wait long for the food and the cashier had to replace the fries because he sat the whole platter uncovered, while he helped another costumer who had just walked in. R.I.P. I'm from Memphis, so I know good BBQ when I eat it. And I did not eat it here. On the plus side, service was good, food was plentiful, and prices were reasonable. The burnt beef ends and St. Louis style ribs were tough, and the sauce was way too sweet and sticky. Catfish strips were mainly batter, with little fish or fish flavoring. Cornbread was soft and mushy, and the mashed potatoes were cold. It is unlikely I will come here again, though I might give them a second chance if I was really hungry. read more

The service was great, and the food was good. However, my problem with the restaurant lies in the fact that there was one server scheduled for lunch. One, with a full dining room. Poor Lauren, who was just doing her best with management screwing her over. I have to say, the menu has improved a lot and the service was stellar - on Father's Day, when I would expect they would be super busy and service could suffer. Our waiter was excellent and the kid's meals were some of the only ones our twins have actually finished! I had a BBQ chicken Memphis Style (coleslaw topped) that was delicious and got the corn cobs as my side. Husband got the pulled pork plate. Kids had a mac and cheese and a chicken plate that we divided equally between the two of them. They also come with a pack of two oreos, which is a great idea. Great white sangria as well. read more

Horrible, horrible service. Walk in on a Saturday night told it's a 45 minute wait. MULTIPLE tables open. I'm told there's people in front of me, who yes, would fit at 2 of the 3 tables open. When I pushed back on why we were being told 45 minutes when there's open tables there's still no clear answer. Finally get seated, I assume because I started to say "WHY are they not seating anyone?" As my toddler is screaming. When I ask for a manager, your typical millennial/Gen Z comes over, refuses to apologize for her staff and is cracking her neck and pointing her fingers like she's on an episode of Love and Hip Hop. It's sickening that this restaurant is managed and run by children, clearly there needs to be some adult supervision here. Also, who doesn't bring a children's menu to a table when seating a child? We had a small even planned and it went great! The manager really did a good job hearing what we needed and wanted and made plenty of suggestions based on us. Their staff was really helpful when it came to actually setting everything up. The food is BBQ if you couldn't tell from the pics but it's really good. It's not going to win any awards for their sauce or anything but their service was spot on. We thought it a very unconventional place to have a small get together but were looking for something low profile and inviting which this place was. My husband loves this place and would give it 5 stars. We go there rarely though because I do not eat meat. They have a salad, but it is an afterthought for them. The last two times we were there, the salad was iceberg lettuce that was mostly brown. If they would put more care into having a nice green salad, we would go there often. read more

Honestly, I was surprised by this place. I've driven past it a million times but never stopped in to try it, so when my husband said he wanted BBQ, I was all for trying this place. Even though it was a Friday night and the parking lot was full, we were seated immediately and a waiter took our orders soon too. I ordered the Georgia Pulled Pork and ordered a "Your Choice Pick Two" with brisket and rib tips (he said the brisket was better). I really enjoyed the pulled pork with the Sweet and Tangy sauce. I could pick two sides so I chose the mac and cheese and sweet corn (corn on the cobb). Service at some point got very slow but that was later in the evening so much closer to closing time. They had a "floater" going around doing assorted tasks, so at least she was able to bring us drink refills and could get us our check since our waiter disappeared at some point. I've heard some negative comments about this chain, but honestly I can't say that I experienced much that was bad. Both of us really enjoyed our dinner there and I'm sure we will be back. read more

very disappointed. this use to be one of my favorite restaurants but after today I will not be back for a long time. I wanted lunch but was informed that due to short staff and them wanting to keep the restaurant open for us they had to change menu and if I ordered dinner portions I would get more meat . Of course I paid double and got dry skinny meatless ribs hard as leather, also i ordered white meat chicken and got what looked like Cornish hen leg and thigh . very disappointed in Famous Dave and if you keep serving meals like this you will be Closed down due to lack of customers. read more

We used this location for catering. The catering staff and the catering service were excellent. The food on the other hand...most of it was great, but the chicken was filled with teeny bones that our guests were continually having to spit out. Most of the chicken went uneaten due to the little bones in every bite. I reached out to management, and Tony, the regional manager, would not acknowledge the bone issue that I told him was so disappointing, and he was not willing to compensate me in any way. He told me, "It's chicken. It has bones." He just didn't comprehend the fact that they were tiny little soft bones that were everywhere throughout the chicken, which made it inedible. He was a great example of ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Tony never replied when I responded to his voice mail. I resent my reply twice- still waiting. Very disappointing. :( read more

I came back to try Famous Dave's after about a year of being underwhelmed before. I figured I would give them another chance as when they first opened I really enjoyed it. My wife and I came for dinner prior to going to see a movie at the theater at the other end of the parking lot. The place was not too busy for a Saturday night and we were seated right away. The service was "average" and that honestly would be the same word I'd use to sum up the entire experience. My wife got a chicken sandwich of sorts which she said was "OK". I got one of the multiple meat combo plates, and felt the serving size was a little below expectations, and the quality of meats also checked in at the "Ok" level. Overall if you have the taste for BBQ, this can fill that taste, but honestly left me feeling for just a little bit more. Well this place went from inconsistent reheated bbq to downright bad customer service, what happened? I have been coming to famous daves for the last 15 yrs and every year it gets worse and worse, either thei ribs taste microwaved and are fatty,or the sides are cold.. but after todays visit I think I am just not coming back. My visit at Famous Daves, started out well enough the place was almost 100% empty at 6pm the host sat us at a great table near a window in the far side of the restaurant it made us feel like we were the only people here.. and I liked that. The visit took a turn when I order my go to dinner option the founders feast.. in the decade plus I have been coming here I asked to swap out the beans that come with the meal for the mac and cheese side. It has never been a problem ever!! The server then tells me no can do.. its their policy set for years no substitution on the sides that come with the combo meal...i told her I was just here a couple months back and she the recanted saying ohh ya it just updated policy 2 mths ago.. then telling me about when other famous daves closed testing me -almost as to make me feel foolish and very confrontational.. I told her fine we will pay for the mac and cheese side but I hate beans do not bring them.. well after getting our food what do you think comes on my platter? Beans.. smh unreal!! Then she disappears for 30 min while we suck on ice cubes... the place was dead maybe 1 or 2 other tables!! Absolutely no excuse for slow bad service. The food was ok.. the ribs were tough.. the chicken was good pulled pork was ok.. coleslaw was great..mac and cheese ok..but cold Bottom line what does a small scoop of mac and cheese really cost? I bet even less then the beans.. you could not just swap out the beans for the mac and cheese... no you had to be greedy as a restaurant! And charge me a measly $2.59 for the side... or maybe this is not policy, maybe the server made this all up? Who knows.. but $60 dollars later I felt mad and annoyed and unsatisfied. We came very excited to eat party of nine for a birthday celebration unfortunately the host gave us only a choice of two boots or two separate tables but we for a birthday celebration we like to seat together, the hostess called the manager for help but unfortunately he did not want to move a table for us to seat together or put an extra chair at the corner of the table. As a Latin I feel discriminated and disappointed because we bring them business and the don't have any accessibility for costumers we have been visiting the place for years but we think we won't go back after what happened today. We stopped in on the way back from the Naperville Christmas market looking for comfort food and found it! We were seated quickly for a Friday night and did not have to wait. We ordered the Feast for 2 looking for a tasting of everything. The food was amazing and served rather quickly. Considering this is a chain BBQ restaurant in Chicagoland the food was quite good. I am highly disappointed with the service...or lack of that I received at the Addison location on 4/11/2021 @ approx 4:30... I called in, like I have done for YEARS, when not dining in.. and "attempted" to order the buffalo wing platter.. the young lady asked me to hold and came back to the phone and asked me did I want the 50 wings...I said no, I would like to order the buffalo wing platter, which comes with 9-10 wings, 2 sides and a cornbread muffin. The young lady then, acted as if she was clueless and tried to sell me a whole wing dinner...after the 3rd or 4th time trying to explain what I wanted to order, I explained that my husband and I order the same thing from there a few times a month and I asked if she could look back at or previous orders so she could see what I was trying to order, she said no..she could not. So, assuming she was new, and maybe not familiar with the menu, I asked if I could speak to someone else, and again, she said no, she is the only one taking orders! Ok so, i told her never mind and I hung up..I looked up the famous Dave's menu, and there it was! 1 meat platter! My 1 meat would have been the buffalo wings, which I have order for nearly 13 years!!! So I called back and a young man answered... ok, I'm thinking, someone has answered that can get my order placed! Nope! He talked all around me, talking about them not having traditional wings!! Finally I stopped him and said sir!... I am trying to order the BUFFALO WING PLATTER! can I order that please or not? He puts me on hold and says, "let me see" REALLY! by this time, i took it as a sign that maybe I should not eat anything from there! So I just hung up. My husband called back and asked for a manager... and I see why the staff was "off"... clearly because he lacked knowledge, Managerial and customer service skills! Not one time did he say, sorry that happened, may I take the order for you? Or what can I do to help you...or how can I make this experience right? We have frequented this location for years! It's OK if someone else is paying. I mean, the quality of the food is good. All the side dishes are tasty. But for what you pay for the food, they should give you a bit more. I've only ever eaten take-out from here, so maybe it's different if you dine in. I think I've had food from here about 4 times, and only once did I feel like a fair price was asked for the food I got. That cajun chicken sandwich with remoulade is pretty decent, and I feel is fair value for money. The entrees all feel like rip-offs, though -- especially the fish platters. It's fine if you're socially obligated to indulge, but it's not a place I'd ever choose to go on my own. The flavors are good; they just need better pricing. My experience and Renato P.'s are exact opposites. The service at Famous Dave's was exceptional. The food was so-so. Our server had no problem keeping track of split orders, shared dishes and special requests. She checked on us regularly, and two other workers stopped by the table to make sure we enjoyed our food. I was a bit disappointed in my baby back ribs, which were lukewarm and a bit tough. The server mistakenly brought cole slaw instead of beans, but she was gracious about the mistake and didn't yank the slaw. The beans were a bore. The mashed potatoes were good. The corn bread was a bit too refined for my tastes. I did appreciate the six sauces on the table I could use to customize each bite. read more

I came here with my mother today and the staff were very polite. We got our food quickly and that was nice however, it was probably precooked. The food was room temperature at best. The brisket was fatty and not appetizing at all. She told me that the only problem with the ribs was the fact that they were cold. Im giving 3 stars because the server and manager were very polite, the fries were good, the meat was bad. Server disappeared right away and we were starving; had to ask another to get her back. Food came quickly. Lunch special with St. Louis ribs was only two ribs and brisket was four or five small slices, for $9.79, so not as great a deal as it sounds but the food was good, as always. The server had asked if we wanted any additional sides but I said "We'll see how we do," yet she never asked if we needed anything else, dessert, etc, just dropped off the checks without a word. Per my visit at Famous Dave's on 01/30, with my family and I, when ordering my meal, the server messed up my order 4x, usually Famous Dave's would've had great customer service (but that was years ago before COVID-19), the 2 -stars were for the food, once I finally got to eat it -- it was OK. I love barbeque!! But Famous dave's is not one of my fav's. Their ribs are okay... The price is alright... Great atmosphere... good service. So on one of my visits here (again with the husband) we ordered a variety of bbq ribs, chicken, appetizers etc. We found the ribs were good but a little bit on the dry side. Each table had plenty of bottled bbq sauce so my husband was able to drown our ribs to make up for the dryness. We got some corn bread, regular fries and our appetizer had fried string onions, chicken tenders, etc. (Just okay) Overall the atmosphere was nice, there was a crowd, and the service was good. There is one thing I wanted to share. I have this thing for sweet potato fries and decided to try theirs. Although the bbq was not all that I expected, the sweet potato fries were awesome. It was a good portion, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside... It also came with a marshmallow/orange/cinnamon sauce that you could dip... and Man!! It really hit the spot for me. I don't remember the exact price but I found it was a little bit high for fries... (I think it was $9 bucks.) I would recommend this place if you need a bbq fix. Came here for the first time last summer. Wasn't a fan of the ribs, but that's because they are St. Louis style, and that's just not my thing. Since I was Famous Dave's virgin, they gave me a bunch of coupons, a couple packets of the different sauces they have, and a bottle of BBQ sauce. Pretty nice, but I wasn't sure if I would go back. This past weekend, my boyfriend really wanted to go back, especially since the movie theater was right next door and that's where we were headed after dinner. I wasn't thrilled, but I figured I would give it another shot. This time around I had the pulled pork dinner and it was delicious! Definitely a great option if you don't want ribs. I ordered a side of broccoli which was cooked very well and steak fries. The cornbread is always the best part but everything was so good. I also liked the BBQ chips our waitress brought out, which allowed us to try different sauces that are on the table. This location also has great and friendly service.
