Honestly this wasn't our first choice for dinner but after a failed attempt elsewhere to turned to Famous Dave's with little expectation. We arrived about an hour before they closed and no one bat an eyelash about it. We were seated quickly, our server was friendly, she gave recommendations and was successful on the upscale of brisket- but really who could say no to that? We both went with meat platters, the chicken and brisket get 5/5 and I would go back for those. The pulled pork had a sauce that I didn't ask for or choose which was a bummer. The kids were decent, but I was mostly there for the meat. We also tried the boneless wings and found the sauce to be a little too "eh", I wish we would've ordered it on the side and dipped. Since we were there so close to closing the waitress brought us out a container of cornbread to take home free of charge so they didn't have to throw it away- great touch, wish they had brisket they didn't want to throw away lol. No one at the front desk and waited almost 10 minutes before I saw anyone that worked at the place. I had to go to the take out counter and ring the bell to see if anyone was present except for kitchen staff. They may have been short staffed. Minimal number of people seated. We went on a Saturday night, there was about a 10 minute wait. Alyssa sat us, we've had her before, we asked if she was our waitress, she said no. My husband asked if she could be? And she said yes! She does a great job, the meal just seems to go better when she's our waitress. We ordered right away and got our food pretty quick, even though there were some larger groups there too. I generally don't leave negative reviews, but with a chain this big, the ambiance, service and food should be fairly consistent store to store. At 1500 on a Saturday I was the only person there. Walked in and sat at the bar, it was ten minutes before anyone knew I was there. It was the manager, and the vibe I got from her was that it was inconvenient for her to have to wait on me. I ordered a glass of beer and looked at the menu. It took a few minutes for the manager to come back; by then my glass had been empty for a bit. I ordered a burger and another beer. She sat in a booth and looked at her phone. I don't mind waiting for food or a drink refill when I can see that someone is busy, but if they are clearly just chillin', well....c'mon, man! We've been here twice while visiting family in Minnesota. We will continue to go here mostly because it was my late father-in-laws favorite place to eat (so it holds a dearest spot in our hearts) but also the food is always so good. We love bbq and this place hits the spot. We don't have a place quite like this back at home in California and I wish we did. The meat is smoked wonderfully and just melts in your mouth. Famous Dave's has delicious food for being a chain. My wife & I ordered their pork nachos, & their brisket mac & cheese. Both items came with jalapeños, which had a nice kick to them! Also, for my birthday, I had a coupon for a free dessert. The bread pudding is phenomenal! read more

tons of open tables and still waited ten minutes to be told it's a 20 minute wait to be seated. Not acceptable. I don't care if you have only 1 waiter seat people rather then letting people pile up in the entry way. Ahh!! We were scrambling to find somewhere to eat in a hurry! Took an abnormal amount of time for someone to notice, greet, seat us. I know it's been hard lately between Covid, and businesses cutting hours all around! So we were patient! Once we were sat, the server was prompt and attentive. Well.. I hadn't been here for 10urs so decided to return. I went 2/19(yesterday) 2pm, was NOT busy maybe 4 tables 2 to a table 1 waitress. I got Rasberry tea it was watered down and VERY Bitter(old tea) got 2 meat combo(bbq chicken, catfish w potatoes and corn muffin) catfish was SMALL thin pieces. Chicken hindquarters have shrunk in the 10yrs. Corn muffin was dry and not very tasty. I did get some Bread Pudding to go... still good but not as flavorful as it used to. They need to bring back the old flavors again and keep that old southern feel(NO pictures). The decor is same as it used to be that i LOVED!!! Spent $ 35 for 2 people but SMALL portions... read more

I've been to a few famous Dave's and this location is definitely the best. Love the atmosphere. Had the burnt ends and brisket sandwich. Didn't think I could finish it all when the waitress brought it but it was so good I couldn't stop eating until it was gone. Excellent Food! I had the St. Louis ribs and brisket combo with sides of baked beans and coleslaw. I am still thinking about it. I would have rated this 5 stars but the service was just a little lacking. Apparently someone called in sick and only one waitress was working the entire restaurant. She was working very hard to take care of everyone and she did her best with a smile on her face and a wonderful attitude. The manager was there but didnt seem to help much. I have worked in the restaurant industry and I realize that things like this happen. However, the manager is supposed to step up and help out or at least get another employee in to help. All in all a good experience and I will stop here again when I pass through the area. read more

I rarely have found one I would be disappointed in. Been to many all around the US and the food seems to stay consistent. We usually order the same thing. No ordered the four bone platter with just corn on the cob and their corn muffin. The corn muffin is one of my favorite. My husband had the same bone platter but had Wilber beans and a house salad. Service was great! Our server let us sit in a both so we could see our boat. The restaurant is right next to Cabela's. Stopped on my way to Iowa during a road trip, and was really pleased with this lunch. The restaurant was busy even though it was close to 1:45, and staff were friendly and attentive although the food took a really long time to arrive. The Texas beef brisket sandwich was great, and topped with the coleslaw was definitely the way to go. Their Mac n cheese is gooey and flavorful with added peppers. Famous Dave's BBQ is a national chain, but orifinally from Minnesota, and I was in Minnesota for work and had a hankering for some BBQ so I stopped in. This location was a typical Famous Dave's building design, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered my go to dish there the 2-meat combo (catfish fingers and Brisket) with chili, wedge fries, and a corn muffin and a sweet tea. First thing I noticed when i recieved my food was my muffin was hard as a rock, i asked for another but again was similarily hard. It was after 8pm so I assume they weren't making any more fresh for the rest of the night. But on the bright side when I started in on the Brisket, I was pleasantly suprised. I have eaten at alot of different Famous Dave's in several different states, and this Brisket was the absolute BEST I have ever had at any Famous Dave's. It wasn't as tough as normal, it was falling apart, and the flavors were magnificaent. I asked the waitress to speak to the manager, and she thought something was wrong, but I just wanted to express my delight in the Brisket. Only had one waitress and hostess running the whole restaurant. People waiting 15 minutes plus before a hostess even had time to come seat them. Had no fries or potatoes of any kind claiming their shipment was late. Food was cold and bland when it arrived. Good and friendly service but poor food and understaffed. read more

I tried to give them another chance. Last time I was there the service was pretty poor, but the food was good. This time the service was atrocious. I came in, was seated and sat for 15 minutes waiting for a server. I flagged one down and she said she was not assigned to my table but she would find my server. I then observed her and the greeter discussing how the other server didn't want to come to my side of the restaurant.I waited several minutes longer while no one came to serve me or talk to me about getting food, or even a glass of water. We were pleasantly surprised by Famous Dave's. We have strong opinions about bar-b-que being from Texas and we were happy with every aspect of our meal. The baked potatoes were on point, the brisket was juicy and tender, the chicken was finger lickin' good, and the cornbread was wonderfully sweet and delicious. The side salad was large and full of veggies and egg. Their tea isn't as sweet as we like but it tasted good and was palatable. Their kids cup won't work for toddlers so bring your own. The restaurant is clean and restrooms well kept. Our waitress, Nancy was friendly and service was not an issue for us. We were there for lunch. read more

Finally get our table and Kris (our waitress or however the hell you spell it) walked past our table at least 10 times. This is a nice Famous Daves. Ate here with a large group for a birthday, very friendly staff. Got the 2 meat combo with brisket(very good) and pork. The sides could have been better, tried the Mac and cheese and fries. The corn muffins are always good at any Famous Daves I've been too. They also gave the group free birthday ice cream too. Stopped in for lunch while traveling. Had the brisket sandwich very tasty and tender meat with lots of fat. Tried another member of our parties chicken strips terrible! The breading on the chicken strips tasted like fish would never recommend them again. Service was great would highly recommend the service however be careful with the chicken strips. very let down this time went for my moms birthday and Mother's Day. got the food and fries were cold, they didn't bring out the child's food who was very hungry and as we know kids are not patient claimed they were just making it and when that came out also was not hot. waitress never came to ask how it was or ask if wanted refills, finally gave us the check but after 15 min had to go track her down to pay since had a baby that was starting to get fussy. when paying over $100 for a party of 7 I don't think it's to much to ask to not have cold food and it shouldn't take half hour to get mini corn dogs for a child. very let down this usually is one of my favorite places. also was my first Mother's Day and never once did the server say happy Mother's Day to any of us read more
