They said they'd put on hold till sunday, but to be sure we came back the next day. We shopped for more items and left our cart for 5 minutes, which they took and started putting the items away. When we asked for my items on hold they had already put it all away too. Wasted hours of our time, came out in a snowstorm, called management today: "They don't care." Someone must be a restocking Nazi there. They put our stuff away twice before we could buy, and we are not people who spend anymore time shopping than necessary.

I spoke with multiple staff members over several months as I searched for the right kayak. They…read morewere all very knowledgeable and forthright about the pros and cons of the kayaks they sell, and I ultimately reserved one for delivery several months later. Unprompted, they proactively contacted me a week ahead of the delivery date to make final arrangements, offered to prepare the kayak with the accessories I bought (no charge), and then delivered it at exactly the time and (hard to find and reach) location we agreed on. That's when Chris went way above and beyond, spending at least an hour going over everything with me, and helping carry the kayak and gear from our driveway to the water (two round trips of over 900 ft each way). I did not explain or ask for any of that in advance, nor was there any extra charge. Just that good old fashioned "let me help" attitude so rare these days. A great buying experience from start to finish -- and the kayak is fantastic, too.

If you need a bike, or bike repair, this is one of the only places in Bangor, despite the name!

The lines are never unbearable at this store because the cashiers are efficient but they're friendly too! I really appreciate that there's always staff around but they're not pushy. They also have worked really hard to keep this store clean during the pandemic. My one complaint, and this is not Old Navy's fault, is that, without fail, there is at least one guest that doesn't understand proper mask wearing procedure. It's not difficult! It does make me more hesitant to shop in store. Luckily, their curbside option is great! And then I don't have to go in and get germs from rude people! If you're in Bangor, be sure to pop in!

Someone outside was joking about possible reasons they were doing it, but I assume it is the recent surge in Covid. At least I think he was joking. Because of the success of vaccines and Paxlovid in slowing down the spread and reducing its impacts, I think some people believe Covid is finished rather than that it is now like flu strains. Anyway, the wait outside the store was short. I tend to shop more closely in the Home Goods section rather then in the clothing, unless there is something in particular I am looking for. They sometimes have surprising items for sale, such as the time we found our brand of decaf coffee at a great price. The variety of decaf available at warehouse stores can be pretty limited, but if you have a Kurig you are made in the shade. They must sell a lot more of it and make more profit. So i don't shop at TJ Maxx regularly but I like stopping in occasionally to see what they have at that particular moment. It helps me miss Zayre's less from when I went to the Broadway Shopping Center decades ago now.
