Upon walking into this store, however, all the effort it took to get here became worth it. The interior is warm, well-kept, and welcoming. I found a pair of shoes that were already on sale for a great price. When I got to the checkout counter, I had the good fortune of interacting with a truly lovely saleswoman. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name. She greeted us with a genuinely warm smile, and was even nice enough to ask me if I was a student, which got me another 15% off the already discounted price! This level of customer service is what has brought me back to this location when I want something new from Madewell. Five stars.

There was another customer in the store who was telling my friend and me that she buys from there a lot and the clothes are long-lasting which tells me that the stuff here is of good quality. They had some accessories as well such as jewelry. I had already spent a bit more than I had planned to at another store in the mall so I actually didn't end up buying anything here but it was very fun to look around and I did see a few tops that I liked. Seems Chico is cheapening the clothing. My bad I went to return in Kingston but that store is now closed. It is a drive to Hingham and I missed the cut off date to return. So now the new pants with tags are at Savers! Chico is saving money by cheapening their clothing. I caution DO NOT buy on line as they are not consistant. And with store closings more difficult to return or you have to pay for return. Maybe if you live near a store OK to shop. Was here a couple of days ago with my husband who was looking for a fleece neck gator for skiing…read more It's quite a big place with all kinds of recreational and sporting goods. For my shopping "tastes", this store is just too vast and overwhelming. It is a sea of merchandise. Well organized yes but just way too much stuff to take in. Despite all the "stuff" I didn't see bargains of any note...in fact...and this could just be me ...but I was astonished to see Nike women's sweatpants for $110.00. That seems like a lot of dough to lay out for sweatpants. I'd skip the name brand and the Nike logo and look for another deal. Better yet, don't wear sweatpants unless you're in the gym or running outside on a cold day as I am not sure who they are flattering on and I am so over seeing people running around everywhere in ill-fitting sloppy looking gym-wear. But for the gym-goers, and exercisers of all kinds, you will find all manner of clothing and equipment here...a fairly comprehensive seeming selection whatever your sport of choice might be. They also sell, t-shirts, specialized sports' shoes, lots of coolers and water bottles including the in my opinion ridiculous looking and now viral Stanley water bottles that everyone seems to be lugging around...tons of those! (I just read that in California there is a class action suit pending on these Stanley water bottles as the company has acknowledged the sealing material used for its vacuum insulation contains lead). I didn't see many staff throughout the store. The staff I did see seemed to be congregating up front so if I had had a question there would have been no one to ask without traipsing back up to the front where the registers are. And in a store as large as this, that's a pain. There are so many other places to get most of the things sold here but with better service and for me, with a more manageable store footprint and experience. If I'm not going to get a bargain, I'd rather spend my money at a smaller store with attentive service. Tom didn't find the neck gator he was looking for so we left without purchasing anything but for me, I can't imagine why I'd return.

When I got in the store I said I needed to return some clothes and the manager immediately had an attitude. When she saw that I had not opened the bag she said, "You haven't even tried anything on and you're already returning it?" She had the BIGGEST attitude when she said that. I told her that it was an impulse buy. She just shook her head and walked away. She was even rude to someone who had called about an order that they had ordered to be picked up in store. She basically hung up on the person. She didn't even listen to them. She literally held the phone away from her ear so even I was able to hear what the woman was saying. Don't go to this store. Order online and if something doesn't fit I highly recommend mailing it back. It's free if you are a VIP member.

Torrid is a women's clothing store that only sells plus sizes…read more I'm a plus sized short woman. At most clothing stores, it's nearly impossible for me to find a pair of pants that fit. Not a problem at Torrid with large selections of both plus size and short jeans, pants, & leggings. Thanks to them, I own a pair of jeggings! (Who knew those look good on plus sized women too?!) The prices are a little high, but I'll accept that as a trade off for items fitting me off the rack (no alterations needed). They often have sales. The one going on today for regular priced clothing is buy one item get a second item 30% off. There is also a great selection of dresses, bathing suits, bras, and tee shirts. The sales staff are helpful and not over the top in pushing sales. I'm wicked psyched that there is now a Torrid close to my home.
