Clothes aren't nice enough to give snooty boutique treatment…read more I brought my 14 year old daughter into this empty establishment full of cubicle clothes, in hopes of being fitted for her 8th grade semi-formal. She prefers to dress like a male, and clearly this bothered the staff there, as they chose to appear too busy folding clothes to make the store any money. The older woman with the accent asked if she could help us, and I said "we're looking for slacks, a shirt and vest for my daughter for her prom". She asked what size slacks, I responded 28", and she informed me that they start at size 30". I followed up with, "what about a shirt and vest?", she replied "for who?, I said "for me", she said, "what size are you?", and I repeated to her that we were there to shop my daughter, who was standing next to me feeling awkward enough as is. The sad thing is, we were at the Boston Pride parade the day before, and my daughter felt so good about herself, then the following day, this clothes folder takes it upon herself to make the conversation as difficult as possible to not assist my child. After we looked through the call-center-special clothes for another minute or so, we realize that we were definitely in the wrong place for what we were in search of. A man with a measuring tape comes out from the back, speaks to the woman that couldn't assist us, then asks what he can help us with. I told HIM, "I'm looking to have my daughter dressed for the prom" he responds with a laugh, "they still have those?".. good one, Don Wrinkles.. I went to the store because for some reason I thought "Jos A" was Joseph Abboud, who is a classy man that goes to the same gym as me. I asked the comedian with the frumpy clothes if Joseph Abboud owned the store and he said they didn't, so we left, as we were clearly in the wrong place. We went to Macy's across the street, found my daughter a nice black Calvin Klein suit and she is ready for her semi! I will never return to Jos A Bank again, and am tempted to go beyond this post in spreading the word of how they judged/treated my child.

I finally went into a Hollister store to witness what the teenage hype was all about. Nothing…read morespectacular or mind-boggling. Just your average, themed, overpriced mall store, with the occasional sale of generic "beach-worn" clothing. You have your plain navy blue tank tops selling for $25+ next to the ripped apart, "sun faded" $50+ jeans. This does not impress me. I spent most of my time in this store smelling each and every one of both the guys and girls body lotions and sprays. Most were off putting but some had a pleasant aroma worthy of purchase. A seating area with couches and arm chairs stood between me and the sales desk. Designed, I'd assume, for the chaperones of the young teens lingering around the store as a new hang out spot. I settled upon a clearance body lotion whose scent vaguely triggers the memories of having been on a long peaceful rest at a quiet beach. Forget the in-your-face scents of Spring Break after a long sweaty day of pushing through crowds and low tide. Staff was friendly enough during checkout. . . the counter area a bit cluttered with little room to form lines when it gets crowded.

You might be saying, "What is this guy doing reviewing a dress shop?"…read more Well, you obviously don't realize how good I look in these dresses. Also, I'm not writing this review for you, so pipe down. And I'm only kind of writing this review for my wife, who ACTUALLY looks good in these dresses. I'm writing this review for me. Selfish as it may seem, I don't care if this shop has the sweetest staff that always helps their customers find whatever it is they are looking for, and makes smart suggestions about other items that might be of interest. I do care a little bit that for some reason, they always happen to stock at least a couple dresses that make my wife look absolutely stunning.* But I really, truly care about not having to wander up and down Newbury Street in the rain, searching for this boutique that we come back to every time we're in Boston. Now that I've written this review, I will remember this dress shop, and we can just come straight here and avoid wandering into other, inferior boutiques. Also, there's a stool in the corner where I can write this review as my wife shops. I like sitting down. _____________ *That should probably be reversed. My wife makes those dresses look good.

I walk over but the two emo people near the second register are still there, and I'm too awkward to ask them to move. Eventually (10 secs later) the two move and I come to the 2nd register (the lady at the second register had her black hair in a bun, her bangs / front pieces were yellow and orange and she had a few face piercings.) she tells me "does anyone ever say hi to you are you just so unapproachable?" (Since we were silent for a bit) I'm a bit speechless so I ignore it and just put the necklaces down, she says "oop-" as if it's annoying that she's scanning my stuff.

Shout out to the amazing new line of Twin Peaks themed T-shirts and accessories to celebrate the Showtime reboot that came out this summer! With regards to the location at the South Shore Plaza, this is one of the best Hot Topics that I've ever been to. Not only do they have a well-stocked inventory, but also the employees here are friendly and so helpful! I was looking for a Twin Peaks tank top that I saw all the way back in May, and finally got a chance to go back and buy it. One of the managers (a girl with black hair, I didn't get her name) was kind enough to search through the racks and find the last one in the store, which happened to be in my size. I think I cried with joy! I really appreciated the level of customer service, and will definitely be back again!
