This is a combination Patagonia outlet and regular shop that also holds sample sales and local events like lectures and yoga classes. There is metered street parking available right by the entrance or you can try to find free street parking a block over and walk. This is apparently the largest Patagonia store on the East Coast and they even have their own Baltimore patch! They have sales on top of their outlet prices as well but just keep an eye on what they serial is actually on sale such as fleeces instead of the entire store being on additional sale. I came by for a yoga class on a Sunday morning (bring your own mat!). This was hosted by Andrea and attendance was about 15 people and was a very pleasant peaceful start to the morning! I wish I had known about the community yoga before as I would have been coming for ages.

The staff are friendly and so helpful. One of the staff recommended a leotard brand that fits me so well and went to the back several times to find different sizes, colors, or styles for our small group. Thank you! They have a comfy couch seating area for those waiting on dancers trying on dancewear and an adorable play area for little ones. The dressing rooms have plenty of space and great mirrors too! They thought of everything when designing the store.

Before making the trek over here, my friends and I looked online to see if there were whistles to be had any where near where we were. We weren't having much luck until this popped up. We made our way over here and into the store. Trying to figure out where whistles would be in a sporting goods store is not fun. Every single sport they represent could be a possibility of that location. We wondered up and down aisles in hopes that they might be with the soccer gear, no luck. Basketball gear? Nope. Hidden in the back corner of the store? Why of course... We see the whistles, grab our twenty and head to the register. The guy ringing us up must of thought why are we buying so many. Then when the total came up, something wasn't adding up. Even with simple math it wasn't correct. Then we noticed that the amount per whistle is not what was listed on the many pegs we just cleared back there. We let the guy know that each peg we pulled from was a price less than what was in the system. He got on his walkie and had a back and forth with another employee who persisted that the price it is ringing up is the price. We protested, as we (four of us) all told him the price is not as marked on the peg. They were hoping that we wouldn't care much, but one of my friends went to the back corner to meet the associate and point out where we grabbed the whistles from. Once she did that, they honored the priced from the numerous pegs. Crazy situation, but when you buy twenty of something, the price difference definitely stands out.

This place is the worst. We purchased a bike for my son here and a few months later the derailer…read morebroke. We live right around the corner so we took it here, but they said they weren't taking any bikes because their tech was out for an extended time. We'd check back every now and then but got the same answer, so we packed it up for the winter and just a few weeks ago I had my son and daughter bring it back. The staff, instead of just taking the bike back (which is still under warranty) chose to make a big fuss and turn us away for not having a repair #, but also stating that the bike couldn't have been damaged the way my son had stated. We call asurion and get a repair number, and then resubmit the bike. They never called us, or have me paperwork, so 2 weeks later when I pop in the guy says they can't repair the bike. At the time I thought nothing of it, and was prepared to take it to Annapolis, which is out of the way, but it was the only option. However when we came back to pick it up, I read the sign that said clear as day "if we can't repair the bike we will replace it" and we questioned the staff member about it. Scott, who we initially talked to when my kids brought the bike in, and the same day when I brought it back stated that he was the tech that was out when we initially were attempting to get it fixed. He is solely focused on the fact that the bike couldn't have broken the way my son stated, and was personally refusing to fix the bike, even though we already got the go ahead from the warranty people. Scott, is telling us that him and another manager CJ, have deemed what happened to the bike to be neglect, and have decided that they won't help us any further. They just let the bike sit in the rafter for 2 weeks, and never contacted asurion to submit any update on the bike. We argued for about 30 minutes, but got nowhere. They tried twisting our words, and down right lying about what had taken place in our prior dealing with them, and now Scott all of a sudden says he wasn't even the bike tech, but he's the person most hell bent on not honoring our warranty. Which the store doesn't even have to pay to fix, because it's under warranty. The neglect that they speak of is that they don't believe how my son claimed it broke, but let's be for real he's 15 and could possibly be withholding some details, but regardless the bike is under warranty and we didn't even need to offer an explanation. They fully refuse to help us, and we take the bike outside and call the warranty company in the parking lot. The lady from Asurion is shocked, and saying she's never heard of such a thing happening. She stated that they have already given us repair number, and given an okay for the bike to be fixed. She stated that the matter in which the bike was broken had nothing to do with anything, and that the tech just needed to assess the bike and then send them a report. We went back into the store with the lady from Asurion on the phone, and let Scott talk to her. Then after being told they didn't have a tech that could fix the bike (even though initially Scott stated he was the tech that was out the summer before) and after they said they wouldn't fix the bike, they now had a tech named Andy that would be in on Tuesday to take a look at it, and contact Asurion. However Scott, was like parts take a long time, and made it seem as if they were salty and would just stall everything to spite us, and we just really wanted to have the issue resolved. So we took the bike to Annapolis, and they didn't even care how the bike was broken, they just said we'll fix it. It could be about 2 weeks for the part and another week for the repair. Scott and CJ were rude and unprofessional. They fought us every step of the way, and even made up their own rules to impede us, when they couldn't justify anything with an actual policy. The guy from Annapolis said that they see broken derailers all of the time, and they even have a name for it, that's kind like an inside joke with the people in their department. Scott and CJ acted as if there has never ever been a broken derailer from the GT brand ever in life, and were insulted at the idea of it. Like these guys were fully invested in fighting us tooth and nail instead of giving us the service they we deserved. They went above and beyond to their duty to see that we would not have our bike serviced at their store (which is where we purchased the bike) and I can only assume that this strategy has worked for them in the past, because of how adamant and aggressive they were with my family and myself. In the end Scott had to eat humble pie as the lady from Asurion told him that they couldn't do what they were doing. They had made such a big deal about us getting the repair #, and then when we did they didn't even touch our bike.

Even when I say they can't get anything they don't mind just coming to browse for when they do need new equipment and apparel. The prices can be a bit shocking on some items but they do run sales, which I find great buys. The service can be a hit or miss but you will always be able to find someone to help. They seem to always be fully staffed.

They're now carrying some serious footwear for athletes... shoes like Hoka, Lotto, Prince, and more! Whether you're out on the tennis court or playing pickleball, you no longer have to leave SOMD to find the right kicks. I'm talking real performance shoes, not just your typical gym shoes. If you're looking for shoes that actually support your game and you live in SOMD, this is the spot. Big shoutout to Tavion (or was it Trayvon? My sincerest apologies if I got it wrong!) for being so knowledgeable and taking the time to walk me through their massive selection. He was super helpful and really seemed to know his stuff. I'm one of the many tennis players that dwell in SOMD, and we needed a better local provider. And while their tennis equipment selection may not rival that of a dedicated pro shop, it's more than enough for beginners and intermediate players. Plenty of rackets, balls, and accessories to get your game going without breaking the bank. All in all, I'm seriously impressed with what Dick's Sporting Goods in Waldorf has done here. Great shoes, helpful staff, and solid options for casual athletes. If you're in the area and need to gear up, save yourself the trip, and just head to Waldorf and thank me later.
