I initially found the service through Groupon, but when I called, the quote was significantly higher. When I mentioned my concern, I was met with attitude and zero professionalism. Bryan was rude and wasted my time. After I let him know I wasn't comfortable with the price change we ended the call, he sent an aggressive text message (before I even posted a review!) defending his pricing. This company is a complete scam. They beg you to call the office and not leave bad reviews, and the moment you do, they turn around and blame you for the damage they caused. They destroyed over $1,000 worth of property including my TV, furniture, my daughter's bed, and her mattress. Everything was damaged due to their carelessness. After that? No calls back. No refund. Not one dollar. Instead of taking responsibility, they harassed me to delete my review and even tried to report it. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how they operate. The Groupon "deal" is a complete lie. They nickel-and-dime you with hidden chargesextra fees per minute, gas fees, and other nonsense they never disclose upfront. Your final bill will be much higher than promised. The movers were unprofessional and inappropriate, wasting time chatting and even asking me out on a date while the clock was running. Be careful hiring these movers they do not handle items with care. They also have hidden fees aside from what is advertised that add up quick. When you hire three people make sure three people arrive I only had two people arrive after requesting three people the job took twice as long as only one person was really doing all the work and then you still have to pay for how much longer they took. I needed movers QUICK and almost NO MONEY! I met with the owner after booking. He was super nice and (despite looking rough) just came to the rescue with a great attitude dispute my low budget, even when my job was super delayed by two hours, he allowed us to pay later (not that i had given him much choice) and i happily gave him double plus tip when we got paid! The owners of the business personally came out to assist with this move! Famous Movers came prepared with moving supplies and dollies. They were very efficient when it came to getting their hands dirty. Very informative when I had any questions. I was beyond grateful for the reassurance when it came to my items being handled carefully. Brian and Brandy work well together and was able to fit all of my furniture in my storage unit. The rate can be a tad discouraging initially but there aren't any extra hidden fees! (i.e. truck fee). I will definitely use Famous Movers again and recommend to my Houston Homies. read more

My husband hires these movers and in all honesty they dic exactly what they were supposed to do. They were very late but they got the job done quickly and efficiently. I had the worst experience ever! I would not recommend this company to move a stick across the street. I booked my appointment two weeks in advance of my move. I was in correspondence with the person whose number is connected to their website. He ensured that my allotted time was secured and even sent me an invoice to pay the deposit. Days leading up to my move, the person I was texting did not answer the phone. The person whom I believe the name is "Bryan" only reverted to texting as a response. On the day of the move, which was scheduled between the hours of 2 pm-4 pm, the person's responses became scanty and short. Each our passed....No response... Then I get a text message canceling my move because of rain and an alleged injured mover. Where I lived had covered parking, so the rain was no issue it also had an area that was for freight. When I requested a refund on my deposit, he responds " Our truck would not fit anyway". I sent him a picture of the freight parking area before the scheduled time. I would think a response would be given if it "could not fit". Additionally, the truck did not have to be parked all the way inside of the building, it could have been right at the edge which would have still been suitable to follow through with the contract. I'm proactive so I rented a U-Haul and did it myself. The disrespect and lack of empathy for me as a customer were beyond inconveniences. Do yourself a favor... NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! read more

Easily the worst service I have ever received. My move was scheduled for 2-4, at 2:37 I called to see their ETA and was notified they were finishing up their current unload and heading to me. Ok- fine. Their location was 30 minutes from me. 3:30 rolled around, I called both the scheduled pick up person- and BRYAN (operations manager) 9-10 times who did not answer or communicate. 30 minutes later he finally calls back to let me know, they had JUST arrived to their unloading from the previous move (that started at 11 am) and would be 2-3 hours. I asked for confirmation they would come at 7, he asked to call back-- and let me know, his other teams had gone home, didn't want to come back, and the team scheduled for my move was JUST TOO TIRED. He offered to schedule me for the next day, I called to confirm next day and then he texted me "We closed at 5" after canceling my entire move and too lazy to accommodate. I texted letting him know we wanted to go ahead and try them for tomorrow, to which he responded "OH SNAP! I forgot. Were closed tomorrow." Did absolutely nothing but offer me a snarky "I apologize for the inconvenience." Don't let the good reviews written by their friends fool you. I have not been contacted since being left high and dry by this awful company. TRULY bad business, and poor communication from start to finish. He offered to contact the owner, but the only number found for them is his so I'm sure no one else will be contacting me. read more

avoid them for dear life!!! they are a horrible business - they damaged my brand new fridge for new home, ikea had delivered it in mint condition & fridge was sitting unused since then! the movers lied about it and my neighbor asked how the yellow got on it - i purposely scratched a bit of my fridge to show them there's yellow behind paint.. horrible horrible service. i reported them to the bbb and now we are working on the fight to get my fridge replaced. we have all these bad reviews that support how horrible this company is!! we sadly had to pay in full, but now we going after cost of fride.. owner was so cheap that he wouldn't even waive the $35 fridge fee so i wouldn't post this!! we are going after full cost of fridge once we get more drop off info from ikea & their dropoff pics. read more
