I requested a quote on yelp for multiple movers, and luckily stumbled upon G&G Movers. I reached out on a Friday and was able to book 2 movers for the next day Saturday between 12-2pm. Communication was easy and done through text for the most part after I called to get more info. Their rates were much better than a lot of other movers and booking the appointment was easy. I paid a $50 deposit to secure my slot and the $50 was applied towards my overall cost. I was able to choose if I wanted 2 or 3 movers as well, but went with two since we had about 12 items total that we needed help with. We moved from a 3rd floor apartment to a house. The day of the move the movers were going to be about an hour + late, but this was communicated with us once I asked for an eta around 12:10pm. They provided me the reasoning along with pictures of the route they would be taken and were apologetic so no problem there. Apparently a customer was having payment issues which delayed their departure. They even offered to have the movers eat while driving to try and make up time, but I let them know they could stop and eat NP since moving is such a labor intensive job. Once the movers arrived, they confirmed the quoted pricing with me and got straight to work, FAST. They were friendly yet focused and like I said, got straight to it. They asked us if we wanted them to wrap certain pieces of furniture and made sure to take what we asked. They were careful when maneuvering through the door ways and just overall. I think they had most everything done and loaded in less than 45 minutes. After arriving at the house, the same continued. Quick, effective moving with communication and they placed everything where we wanted. While I was thanking one of them for the help, they even thanked ME for the opportunity! If this company responds to your request for a quote, just go with them. I requested a moving quote through Yelp and at least 4 companies responded. I chose G&G because they had the best price. Along with their great prices you also get good service! They removed wall mounted TV's and disassembled/reassembled beds. Once at the unloading location I had them move some of the heaviest items upstairs and not once did they complain... These guys are strong too. read more

Bags into a basket is faster than boxing on a single dolly-- so claiming that bags slowed the process is simply false. * Your statement about waiting 40 minutes for a train is also untrue. There is a tunnel your truck passed through under the tracks. During the hour you were "lost," you did not communicate at all despite my multiple calls. Moving is always stressful, so it's critical to find a good team - and I got lucky with G&G. Luis and Michelle are a formidable duo. Michelle handles the communication and planning but also helps with the move. Super communicative. They charge $120 for 3 movers and $90 for 2 movers; I went with 3. There's also a $85 charge for transportation costs, no charge for extra stops (I had one extra stop 3 mins away). There's also a $50 deposit that you pay online to secure the move time. On the day of the move, they came with two more guys. Michelle was helping out as well, which was a surprise, and they all worked hard and fast. No down time and on the go without losing humor! Luis is hilarious. I was moving out of a 1 BR apartment so I didn't have much furniture but had a lot of boxes. Still, they saran-wrapped every furniture item (mirror, dressers, desk, etc.) and left everything clean. They even helped me throw out the trash. They arrived early at 7:45am and finished at 11:20am. This equates to $420, and plus the $85 lands me at $505. Apparently there's an extra charge for the saran wrap of $20 and the tax is somewhere between $20-30 - this would have been nice to know ahead of time, but I guess it's part of the process - so I was charged $550 including my deposit, and I tipped their two guys $20 each. I thought they own the company, but apparently there's a separate owner. I am impressed with Michelle's work ethic and her ownership of her responsibilities. I contacted G&G movers for moving my 1 BR apartment from Houston to Austin. The move was executed very well on the same day with no damage to any of the boxes. They moved slower than most movers I've seen so I probably could have saved some hours. Two men kept putting boxes in the wrong rooms even though they were clearly labeled and color coded. They left big items in my garage and clogged one sink and toilet (with #2 and paper towel) in the old home and didn't let me know. It cost me two extra days in the old home. They scraped up the side of my washer (didn't tell me) and didn't install it correctly, so water leaked all over my hardwood floor. There were three men, but only the one in charge seemed to know what he was doing. They attempted to charge for shrink wrap but did not notify me at the beginning. They did waive the fee due to me having the quote in writing. Update: We were packed and ready to go. The storage items were clearly not packed because they included basketball goals, tv, blankets. The movers did not tape up any new boxes. They also left one of my doors off of the hinges with no screws to put it back on. I had to go to Home Depot to purchase new screws. read more

I hired G&G to move me from JV area to Heights area. I talked to them on the phone on Thursday evening and setup a move for Sunday morning 8am to 10am (was told two hours would be enough for the amount of stuff I mentioned) - took four hours. I chose G&G movers because they said they have insurance and will guarantee no damage to my furniture and items being moved. One of the two workers (Luis) was a hard worker but the other guy was a bit sluggish and slow. The other guy managed to drop several boxes while moving them on the dolly at my house in JV but I let it go since accidents happen -- while unpacking, I found several of my glasses crushed and plates broken. Once they got to my new place in the heights, they managed to hit my dresser on the ceiling leaving a hole. They offered to call a friend to come fix it but I didn't want to sit around and wait so they lowered the total fee, slightly. Next they moved my king size mattress to the third floor master bedroom. Once they finished I mentioned the mattress looks a little deformed but was told let it sit and sleep on it. After a week of waiting for the bed to 'settle', I contacted G&G and was told they would come to look at the damage. They never came but then asked for pictures to be sent. After a week of run around they stopped answering my calls and texts. I spent over $1k on this mattress which is now trash. I would not recommend using them if you care about your belongings. read more
