Best Best Best pizza in life ok. From the sauce to the crust, I die. My favorite is the chicken parm. I lived in Norwalk for a few years before moving to Florida in 06. Finally, I have made it back for a return visit and DUHHHH, I had to go to my favorite spot. The crazy thing is, I'm not really into pizza but this stuff..:. This pizza... does something to me lol. I ordered a medium because well, why freaking not. 20 minutes later it's ready and so am I. I literally ate 4 slices (they are small slices) on my way to my grams house back in NY. I wish this places or something like it was back in FL but, it's not. The restaurant looks exactly the same. Rustic lol. The staff and friendly, dine in or take out. Who doesn't know about Famous Pizza, better get to know them, they are BOMB! The food wasn't really that good. First off we had the "garlic bread" which really wasn't even garlic bread and was just garlic butter on plain bread. had to send it back. The margarita pizza was decent but not the best. I felt that it could have had more spices. The Oreo "pie" that they call which was just a cupcake. Did not taste sweet at all and the cupcake and the icing on it was kind of hard. It's kind of ironic how they said "don't forget the dessert" when there's no dessert on the paper menu. You have to ask the which they only have 2 dessert which is just "Oreo pie" and "cheesecake pie" Plus the waitress didn't really seem nice or approachable and didn't even check up on our table to see how we were doing. read more

This was a place I dreamed of being able to visit again and eat everything I ate 30 years ago when I lived in Norwalk. This week my dream came true when I arrived at this pizzeria. I can say that the service was very good and the lady who served me was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the same pizza I ate almost every Friday when I lived in this city. Which hadn't changed at all, delicious as I remembered it. If I have something negative to say, it's the appearance of the place. I understand that this is a family business that has been serving the community for several decades, but it seems to me that a place like yours, that has been around for so long, should have progressed at the same level as the city has progressed and not have a run-down appearance. This made me and my wife, who grew up in that city, feel disappointed. For example, Frank Pepe's Pizzeria in New Heaven turned 100 years old, but its appearance is on par with the city's progress, which impressed me greatly. You should be a model pizzeria since you mean so much to the city. In Florida, I ran into a couple who talked all about how good your pizza was, and I agreed because I remembered how many good memories I had of the place. It's truly a shame that the place doesn't live up to your pizza standards. Thank you for the experience of good pizza, but your place needs to be brought up to date with the times we live in, where it's a pleasure to be there. Right now, it's not a place where one feels comfortable or happy. Local pizza joint- nothing fancy. I ordered a margarita pizza and it was pretty good. Pan pizza- so thicker crust and golden on top- Greek style. My daughter ordered fettuccini Alfredo and the sauce was more like a soup and wasn't that flavorful. The chicken on it was good. Our waitress was fine with us but I saw her be kind of rude to an Indian woman with two little kids. They sat at a table she didn't want them to sit at or something. But it seemed busy and popular with the locals. I'd say this place is ok. It's location is great and it's convenient to the SONO AMC theater, which is why we tried it. read more

Stopped by last week and ordered myself a medium pepperoni pizza. The waitress who took the order could not be nicer nor any more attentive. While this was probably considered a "personal" pizza, to me it was huge - but delicious! Ate half the pie in the restaurant and had to take the rest home as I was already pretty full. This is a hidden gem. The food here is EXCELLENT and better than most upmarket restaurants. The burgers are amazing and the salads are one of the best I've ever had. The prices are good for the quality and quantity of food you get. Service is kind and there's never a long wait for the food because the place is very small. It's very cozy and has fairy lights and artificial leaves around it to enhance the atmosphere. Very family friendly and a nice cozy date night spot. read more

My family ate at Famous yesterday and the waitress really tried it. My family of three adults, (1) child age 7 and (1) baby age 6 months were charged a service charge for 5 people. When the waitress was asked why we were being charged for service to 5 people, she stated we were being charged for the baby who DID NOT eat! Ridiculous right? The baby hasn't even tried table food just yet as he just celebrated his 6th month on earth and furthermore we decided to dine in and support the establishment but never again. I know times are hard but Famous Pizza must do better! Wanted a margarita pizza and seemed to be hard to find in the area. But this place popped up with good reviews, and so I gave it a try. I Ordered over the phone on a Tuesday early afternoon (during the pandemic). The Parking is metered on a semi busy road. Walked in they had inside seating open at the time- and a counter for pick up. The food was ready, so I paid and left. Only issues were the receipt- it's not itemized, and I also tried ordering wings (flats only and this was not available). This is a big one for me but I get not al places do that. I also saw they had a fountain machine with Pepsi sodas, and added this to my order ($3.00). However, the soda tasted like what I imagine toilet water to taste like. So while this was a very unpleasant taste it wasn't a deal breaker I would say JUST ORDER BOTTLED;). I ordered a large margarita pizza, an order of Buffalo chicken tenders, and lots of ranch (0.50 cents extra each- but good portions for us ranch lovers). Food is very good, a large variety of menu items, prices are responsible for the amount of food you get. There chicken Alfredo is very good and creamy, buffalo wings are good and crispy and their chicken parm is delicious. They get very busy usually Friday Saturday and Sunday. Food deserves more stars but two things pulled it down: garlic bread was light on garlic and most cooks not wearing masks....that was disappointing. YUM!! Since my daughter turned 3 this past Monday, what better way to celebrate that, than by going to a pizza place?! Pizza is one of her favorite things of course! We got the bar b q pizza, buffalo wings and my mom got a salad with raspberry vinaigrette. For some reason I was in the mood for the shrimp pizza, but we went for the bar b q instead. I'd give 4 stars for the actual food, but this 5 star review is for the service. Norma was our server and she was absolutely excellent. She took care of us, laughed with us, and completely made our meal that much better. I've only lived in Norwalk for 10 weeks so far, and she has been by far the best waitress of my dining experiences. The food was pretty good! Calamari and buffalo wings to start were yummy! Big portions so I suggest only getting one for an appetizer for 3 people. By the time we got our entrees, we were too stuffed to take more than a couple bites. Came for a day at the Aquarium, and was looking for a pizza spot. This was recommended so we went. Ordered mushroom pizza, they don't serve by slice only personal. A small 10 inch plain is $7.95, which is decent, with each topping $0.95. Not bad. But when I got the pizza, it looked like they only used two mushrooms, sliced...there was barely 3 whole mushroom slices on each slice of pizza, and 2 or 3 slices had NO mushroom on it. Wtf. I ended up ordering a SIDE order of COOKED mushrooms to make up the difference. I included a photo. Is this acceptable when the pizza is ordered with toppings? I don't think so. In fact I think its kinda pathetic. If I go back and try other food on the menu I would reedit my review. But REALLY disappointed when I expected much more from the place based on the name. Pizza itself was tasty but please improve the amount of toppings. Btw service was good, the lady was great, she couldn't help with this situation. I finally had time to visit and sit down for pizza instead of ordering and running back to the office. Friendly staff and amazing food. It was so nice seeing all the families come in and enjoy a meal at this local business that has been around since 1966. My coworkers share with me their memories of visiting with their parents as kids and now they visit Famous Pizza with their children. At work when gathering the lunch order they don't use the full name. I ask and they reply "let's order from Famous". My son loved the candy machines. You know the one you place a quarter in and turn the dial. You rarely see them any more. My favorite is the cheese pizza. IDK why, but whenever my family gets together @ grandma's house in CT for more than 1 day, someone always has to get a famous pizza. i'm not big on pizza in general, but famous is consistently good and i'm happy to give them an extra star for nostalgia and b/c their staff is always super friendly [both on the phone and in person]. they've been there forever and still have reasonable prices, so they must be doing something right. Pizza here is one of the best in all of Norwalk. It is kind of pricy, but worth it. A lot of people don't stop in here because of where it is in Norwalk (kind of a sketchy part of Sono) it is definitely worth the stop. Every pizza there always has soo much cheese, good sauce, loads of flavor! They also have a large variety of toppings, even rare things like gyros. The inside is a little out dated but staff is always friendly. Sometimes service is not the fastest, but at night it gets really busy sometimes so you cant really blame anyone. My friend suggested we go here after visiting the Maritime Aquarium a few blocks away. Parking is sketchy in Connecticut but the food is worth it! Metered parking is an option. We had a party of 8 with 5 children celebrating a birthday. The waitress was very accommodating and friendly. We ordered a pepperoni pie for the kids, which I also sampled. The deep dish style thick crust is out of this world!!!!! The ingredients are fresh and savory. I ordered a Hot Combo sandwich. A hot italian sub with ham, salami, peppers and the works!!! The bread was crispy and fresh. Nothing like I've ever had. I also orderd onion.rings and my 2 year old went to town finishing half the order!!!
