We had a delicious breakfast here today. 5 of us. We had the their famous hash (delicious), biscuits and gravy (different but very good), the tuna melt (very good), and sausage and eggs (OK, sausage had minimal flavor). The service was very good and the ambiance was nice (we sat out on the porch and it was a bit cold; on a nice day it would be wonderful). Husband and I visited here as I remembered the name from the one in Wilmington, NC. The wait for a Saturday was about 5-7 minutes. Waitresses were nice and attentive. I ordered their Hawaiian Mimosa and it was YUMMY!!! For food Husband ordered the Country Benedict... potatoes were scrumptious, since he's not a fan of biscuits and gravy he wasn't too ecstatic on it being with the Benedict (which he enjoys). Can't go wrong with coming here for breakfast or lunch, especially if you're trying to decide between brunch and lunch items from the"good morning" or "good afternoon" menu. They make everything fresh and tailor to different diets and allergies. I got the huevos rancheros since it's my favorite when I go to brunch and my boyfriend got a breakfast burrito with sausage. Both were good but of course I liked my huevos rancheros better. The portion was huge; I thought there was a can of beans in my rancheros. It was topped with avocado but I thought it needed some spice to give it the finishing flavor. The sausage gave the burrito a smokiness and it may have otherwise been bland without it or the salsa. Both dishes came with a fresh orange slice to meet my daily fruit quota :). I also got a latte and enjoyed it. I thought it was a bit small for the price but it was tasty. We had a $5 off coupon for a $25 purchase, so watch out for these in the mail! There's plenty of other items and sweet snacks to choose from. Service was good and fast. Saturday and Sunday mornings during brunch time is always packed... so pick your hours well! It's definitely one of my favorite places to take my family for a good brunch. They have lunch and other foods... but I have other places that I like more... I really enjoy the freshness of the ingredients and that everything is cooked well... especially the eggs. My fiancé and I stopped in at Famous Toastery for a late weekday lunch so it was not very busy. It's an average spot if you want something simple and easy. The service is ok and the food is basic. For what we ordered, the best thing were the drinks and that's usually not a good thing if you boast the name "Famous". I don't think they have a fryer (which is a healthy idea) but the food was just bland and needed doctoring up. The drinks were delicious and I had to order two for myself! I think that if the menu was updated to bring more of a variety I would give it another try if I were in the area. read more

The food is typically good. The issue is that no one wears hairnets and their hair gets in the food. It's difficult to return to a place when you have to constantly send food back because of hair. However, I do love that they offer mimosa flights. This place was completely packed, but I also love how they offer getting on the wait list before you arrive. More places need to offer this! We were sat about 20 mins after we arrived on their back enclosed patio looking thing next to the parking lot. It was great because even in a small space, we could still hear each other talk. For entrees we got the waffle with berries, a pancake, and the biscuits and gravy. The waffle and pancake were both super dry and was way too sweet. After adding a whole cup of maple syrup to hopefully moisten the pancake and waffle, it still did not help. The biscuits and gravy on the other hand was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. Definitely not worth the hype we were given to try this place out. There were three hosts standing behind the counter when we walked in and not one said hello or welcome. They all just stared at us until I said hello first and that we would like a table for four. We were seated quickly with no wait, but our waitress didn't show up to our table to say hi or I'll be right with you for quite a while. By the time we had gone over the menu several times and were more than ready to order, still no one had even come to take our drink order. Once the waitress finally came, she took our drink order and instead of asking if we needed more time to view the menu or if we were ready to order she left quickly and we had to wait for the drinks to come which took another several minutes. Once the drinks finally came, the waitress set them down and started to walk off again when I had to quickly say, "I think we are ready to order" before she got too far away. She came back and took our order and gave us the bill right away as it prints out from their little handheld device. When I saw the price for what we got I was in SHOCK! Way too overpriced and that's not even saying how the food was. Everything we ordered tasted like pumpkin! The cornbread, the French toast, and my sons pancake all tasted like it was seasoned with pumpkin spice or nutmeg so none of us finished our food. My "raspberry stuffed" French toast was just jelly like you would use to make a Pb&j just smeared on one side of a slice of bread and stuck to another piece of bread. I was beyond disappointed in this as I am used to stuffed French toast as being legit stuffed with real berries or whatever flavor you pick and actually filled with whipped cream and a fruit sauce drizzled on top, something iHop is famous for. This was a very cheap way to sell French toast and shouldn't even be on the menu as "stuffed" if it is not going to be properly done. Overall, we will not be returning, but having worked in the restaurant business for a while, I do think this place could have potential with lots and lots of training for their employees on good customer service skills. That and better quality of the taste and presentation of the food as well as working on fair pricing to match the quality of what they are serving. read more
