Both dishes were well made, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The portions were quite filling and reasonably priced. The service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. I used to go to First Watch a lot in the past but now as I gotten older I realized that it is just alright! There is nothing wrong with the food per say but it does not really stand out to me. I ordered the Bacado Omelet. It comes with mixed greens of seasoned potatoes. I opted for the seasoned potatoes which were well seasoned and very filling. It came with a good amount and I was not able to finish it all. The omelet had bacon, avocado, and cheese. It was topped with sour cream and had a side of tomatoes. The omelet was fine but again nothing great. I wish the ingredients were more combined because it was not too cohesive. I had to spread the sour cream and scoop some tomato with each bite. Otherwise, it was fine. Service was good and average, no complaints. The inside was nicely lit with noise level was minimal (on a weekday) so it was a relaxing lunch. read more

My favorite things to get are chickichanga (eggs, cheese, chorizo, chicken rolled in a flour tortilla with some kind of delicious sauce) and lemon ricotta pancakes. I really wanted to try their limited time prosciutto Parmesan toast, but they crossed it out on the menu. I tried my friend's Bloody Mary with million dollar bacon- both delicious. Bacon was sweet and savory (cooked with brown sugar and maple syrup). I wish the bacon was thicker but all good. I left full bellied, happy, and face flush with glow. They have Cholula and ketchup on every table. They have Tabasco, you just have to ask for it. read more

This was our 3rd visit to this location & the food was delicious as always! Today we had a bad experience with the service. She seemed as if she was having a bad day so we didn't think anything of it until we saw her enjoying herself in the kitchen the entire time. She only took our orders in the beginning & gave us the bill at the end. No warm greetings or any other manners. She did not check on us once (this was post breakfast rush). We had finished our drinks before the food arrived & had to bother other servers for beverage refills. I had a mid-morning (10:30am) meal on a weekday here. The dining room was about 3/4 full and we were greeted and seated right away. The ambiance is nice and lively and a step up from the larger breakfast chains in the area. Our server was nice and attentive. I ordered the carne asada hash (seasonal menu) and my dining partner ordered from the Two For You menu, selecting half a market veggie sandwich and a cup of cheese and broccoli soup. We also shared a pot of their coffee. The hash was excellent. I opted to have the included two eggs scrambled. It was a very good portion and even though I used up the two corn tortillas making mini tacos while still having a lot of the dish remaining to get through, those tortillas were enough. They had Cholula original hot sauce on the table which added a nice zing to the dish. The broccoli cheese soup was pretty good. It was thickened a bit too much for my dining partner as she likes a runnier soup. The market veggie sandwich was great. The sauteed vegetables and pesto sauce came in between two well-buttered toasted pieces of bread. The regular coffee was pretty good and I had to full cups. Our waiter presented the pot of coffee to us when he first came to our table. Of course, I could have declined it, but I did want coffee regardless. However, the price of the pot (free refills) was not listed on the menu and I was surprised to see it on the receipt at $3.99/person. Maybe that's normal for all you can drink coffee at breakfast places, but it would have been nice to see it indicated on the menu before it being brought to our table by the waiter. Overall, this is a breakfast (or lunch) place I'd come to again, and especially before going to any of the other larger breakfast chain restaurants. read more

Update: Husband insisted on calling and getting my order correct. After speaking with the manager, I made another trip to pick up my pancakes. As annoyed as I am, these pancakes are delicious. Been ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes for years. But the last few times, I've very disappointed with their to go service. They are always forgetting something. Today, I received a pancake without the lemon curd and fruits it usually comes with. I don't even taste the ricotta. This pancake is very dry. We tried to go here on the weekend around 9:30AM; the line was out the door and with a long wait. However, being retired has some benefits! We returned mid-week around 10:30AM and were seated immediately with our waitress, Stella, arriving within a couple of minutes. The Trifecta (i.e., Belgium waffle but without the blueberry compote, eggs and bacon) is our "go to" item on the menu; this always tastes good to us. The coffee is strong, but comes in a pot. At $3.99 per cup, we do multiple refills. Stella was attentive and we truly appreciated her attention to our table. We are looking forward to the First Watch opening in Reston. read more

After looking over the menu - I opted for the Farmhouse Skillet Hash - which comes with seasoned, roasted potatoes, two cage free eggs, bacon, avocado, house-roasted onions tomatoes, and cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. I also ordered a side of bacon (4 strips), and coffee and water. The food came out in about 10 minutes - even thought the place was very busy. The skillet hash was DELISH! Honestly, impressed at our waiter!!! The kitchen was extremely backed up, our food didn't come out for an hour. However the waiter mad everything worth while. He was so kind and attentive. He brought out free beverages on the house and gave us a free muffin while we waited. He truly went above and beyond with taking care of us. He would check in on us and see if we needed anything periodically and give us updates. My son brought me there for a birthday breakfast. We were the first eat in customers there. After the waiter took our order, it took a very long time to get our food. We both ordered the French Toast, which was absolutely delicious. Our waiter didn't come by again to see how we were doing, or did we want a refill of our drinks. I had gone to the bathroom and could see right away that it hadn't been cleaned the day before. The floor was dirty and the trash was full. One of the toilets wasn't working either. Since I live in the neighborhood, I pass by this place all the time and have seen how busy it gets. Because of that I had high expectations. Nothing but a positive experience here on this trip. My gf and I stopped in for breakfast before her hair appointment. We were seated right away but it was a very busy breakfast morning. I ordered the healthy turkey omelet with added ham and my gf ordered the Mexican omelet with bacon instead of chorizo as well as a waffle. The food ended up being good but took a while to get out. But while we waited our waiter was very kind and brought us some muffins, free of charge, to apologize for the long wait time due to the kitchen being backed up. I wish I had written his name down. He was communicative and helpful to ensure we were informed and wouldn't leave dissatisfied. He was truly an example of how you offer customer service. Got seated on the patio, sat there for 20 minutes with not even a drink order, watching two different servers take the orders of the other two tables out there, and ignore us. As a former server myself, at the bare minimum, I expect to be greeted within 7-10 minutes of sitting down. If you're busy, you're busy. But you gotta communicate with your table. Or even if it's not your table, just be like "hey guys your server will be with you in a minute" or something. Any form of acknowledgement before 20 minutes have passed would have been appreciated. Our server took our drink order right away while we perused the menu. I had the Traditional Breakfast with egg whites, toast, turkey sausage and I substituted cheesy grits for the potatoes. My husband had the Tri-fecta. He had bacon, multi-grain pancake and what he described as a perfectly cooked over medium egg. I really want to love First Watch, but they don't seem to share that desire. We've been to many First Watch location. All are flawed, but this particular one on Rt. 50 seems to struggle the most. Every time we visit, if it's not this, it's that. Once their system failed and we weren't added to the waitlist, so we ended up waiting 45 minutes before realizing we weren't even on the list and then the wait time was about 90 mins for a table. Once they forgot a serious modification that could have caused a health emergency. Once we got into an argument with the server because they misspoke about a hidden up charge and then lied about it. Today, they just simply forgot to put our orders in and didn't realize until 30 minutes later that our orders had not even been placed. Always different host staff or servers, but always at this location. There is almost no manager presence. In each of these situations, no manager has ever come to speak with us, smooth things over, or offer recompense. Once, I was livid and contacted them by email and the manager only said to come back and he would pay for my meal. The restaurant is always just a bunch of servers and host staff running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The customers are always sitting straight up like meerkats, looking around for absent food and servers. When it does arrive, the food is pretty good, but we always ask ourselves if it's worth the grief--it's not. Each time, after about a year, we seem to recover from the trauma enough to give First Watch one more try. Today, we were celebrating and decided to give First Watch yet another chance. I think that was their last strike. For whatever reason, First Watch seems to go out of their way to provide a terrible experience for us. We get it, you don't want our business! read more

They are either doing that deliberately or don't know how to poach an egg. Service however is great. They took it off the bill when I pointed it out. The 8:00 am Saturday breakfast was a good experience. The restaurant was not crowded so we could enjoy a leisurely (1.5 hrs.) meal and conversation. You could not likely do this later in the day or on Sunday. The service staff was friendly and we didn't require too much support because they leave you with a big urn of coffee. The food was very tasty. I had the Tri Fecta (Belgian Waffle, two over medium eggs, pork sausage links) and a side of buttered grits. You could really tell the higher quality of food over what you get at other, less expensive establishments. The ambiance is open and friendly. Overall it was good (not all good) but I'd definitely go back even though I'd estimate the meal price to be 20-25% higher than other average places. Quality does count. However, I have to say the only negative thing I experienced was that the food arrived lukewarm. I can't face lukewarm or cold grits. I asked the server if they could microwave them for me and he said they didn't have a microwave (which, by the way, as a long time home cook, I find doubtful). But he may be right because the "new one" was only slightly warm. Lastly, the chair seats are hard wood, but I don't blame them. While her kids were sitting at the table. We ordered our food. We received our food at 9:10. My French toast and eggs were cold. Not room temperature but cold. I will never go back there again. I also ordered a soda never got a refill but when he came back and I told him I didn't want the food because it was cold and I didn't want another order. I didn't want to wait 45 minutes again. He came back with a bill for four dollars and something for the soda that he never bothered refilling. What has happened to this restaurant? Pro-tip: get in the digital waitlist before you arrive and check in at the counter to beat the crowd. We loved the multigrain pancake (humongous!) and the breakfast plate. Came here with my family and some friends after my niece was baptized at a church nearby! There were 7 of us and we were seated promptly without a wait around 1:30pm. There is plenty of parking outside since this is in a strip mall area with many businesses. The place was clean and service was good! Our waitress got two iced coffee orders wrong but she let us keep the incorrect ones and brought out the right ones quickly. They were good about refilling our waters and coffee. Food came out fast and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal! I got the Farmhouse Hash which was tasty and so filling, I couldn't finish it all! I wish it was served with hashbrowns instead of potatoes as the base, but I'm sure that's something I could request next time. I've seen First Watch across several states, and FINALLY paid them a visit for breakfast. I seriously have to stop doing that. I've been missing out on greatness for YEARS! This place is one of my favorite places now! I originally went as a morning date with my hubby. It was quiet, clean, and bright! I love pancakes, so I decided to go with french toast and million dollar bacon! They had a seasonal menu which sounded great! The french toast was served with lemon ricotta cream, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, house-made granola and crème anglaise. THIS was soooo good. I instantly got sad that it was seasonal and would be leaving soon. So, what could I do? Go everyday? I wish! Instead, I went every other day, and ordered this toast! I only had about 1.5 weeks remaining before they changed the seasonal menu. Since then, First Watch has been a normal instance of my morning routine.
