Popped in for breakfast just a wrap and a coffee to take with me to a 8 hour class. I got the coffee to go and was given the cup and told that sugar and cream was available at the bar area. I made my way to the bar area and opened up the coffee. There was a good 1/6 of the cup no filled for room for sugar and cream (a bit extreme as it doesn't take that much space). I got the wrap with brie and egg whites with avocado. The wrap looked pretty but was moist the whole way through from the wrap to everything inside of it. Just tasted like wetness and moistness. No real flavors at all. I stopped eating after a few bites as it was dripping as well. I was very unhappy with the order especially since it was so expensive for a breakfast wrap. read more

Summery: The waitress was very sweet and kind. Food was decent. Taking stars off because operation of the place was lacking tremendously taking away from the dine in experience Long version: I have worked in the service industry for over 4 years I have not messed up someone's wait time so bad... that they had to wait double the time. Our 30-40 min Sunday wait turned into over 90 min wait as we saw other couples whom have come in after us get seated first. We asked around the hour mark to see where our table was and the kind waitress said there were two tables ahead and would count a 10-15 min wait... Lo and behold - forgot to call us... again? Ok. We didn't pester them still though we were waiting outside in the sun until the entire outside cleared out. I can get things get hectic but please update us accordingly and make it less obvious when you're surprised we didn't get called into seat right in front of us? At least an apology would have surfaced? I'm sorry we drove over an hour away to have brunch here because we were having a date for my late day here. Anyways - got a nice sunburn. This was my second time here. We ordered avocado omelette, classic Benedicts, and Cali Benedicts. The service was quick and waitress was very friendly. Corn bread which is always served on the weekends was great. The food was good, I just wish the poached eggs on the Benedicts were regular size (large). Was really hoping this place would be a little better. Went here on a Sunday, so of course they were busy, but it was really just chaos. After waiting about 30 min for a table for two we were shown to a small table, which was placed about 12" from another two person table and a four person table on the other side. They have way too many tables and chairs in this place to make anyone feel comfortable. Add in all the screaming kids throwing crayons off the tables around me and I was pretty much sorry I walked in here. I was hoping for a good meal at least, I tried to the stuffed french toast, which would have probably been better if it was at all warm. They told us when we sat down every server was our server, well that may be the case, but only one waitress decided to ever stop by our table and that only happened when she was in the mood apparently. Overall I felt this place was overrated and over packed with customers. For a new place it seemed like they just wanted to pack everyone in at once rather then give the people in there a good experience. If you like eating cold food while feeling like you are stuck in a cattle car with entire kindergarten class then this is the place for you. read more

Decided to give this place another chance and I'm done. Not again. First off, way overpriced. I ordered the Cali Benedict and said no hollandaise sauce as I'm pregnant and can't have it. Food showed up to my door, opened the container and there was the hollandaise sauce all over my dish. Really?? How hard is it to follow instructions? The dish was minuscule and not worth $14 at all. I'd pay $7 at most for this here. Looked at the rest of the dish and the English muffin wasn't toasted at all like it said it would be, the avocado was brown and none of it looked appealing. Ended up throwing it out since I couldn't eat any of it because they didn't pay attention to the no hollandaise sauce!! Disappointed a second time and won't be wasting my money here. read more

Took my kids to the playground near here a few weeks back and I bragged breakfast for my wife and I, to go while they played. Nothing better than a traditional breakfast restaurant. And this is the place in Ashburn! First time to try it out, but will definitely return. The mac and cheese is some of the cheesiest and most delicious I've ever had My son likes the chocolate chip pancakes and sausage patties. One of the best things about Famous Toastery is their service. Every server serves every table, which means no waiting for a condiment while your food gets cold and no long wait for the check. So disappointed with our visit today. First, we sat for at least 10 minutes without a server coming to our table. They must be short staffed because there were no servers in sight. I finally got up to find someone and thankfully she was able to take our order. We ordered a sprite that came to our table without syrup, so that had to be returned. I noticed on our order ticket that our server entered a beyond burger patty instead of a regular beef patty, so that's something else I had to get fixed. The server explained that it was just her second day, so I understand she is still learning. As if things weren't already bad, my peanut butter banana French toast was just gross. Way too much peanut butter, hardly any banana, and completely undercooked!!! The middle was just custardy goo. At that point I was tired of mentioning problems and I just wanted to leave so I didn't say anything (she didn't come back to see if our food was ok anyway). Thankfully, before I paid, another server that was cleaning up our dishes noticed the undercooked inedible french toast, and got it taken off my bill. This was our first time visiting this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Our server informed us that their motto is "Every server is your server". It was nice to hear that we can ask anyone for anything. In theory, it is nice but we didn't observe any behavior that displays/supports their motto other then refilling the coffee which I believe is standard across many restaurants. Having said that, I was very impressed with the Breakfast bowl. Eggs were cooked perfectly and potatoes were simply delicious. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is that the Huevos Rancheros was not what we expected. This place is spot on delicious! I went here twice in two weeks it was so good! I had the banana walnut pancakes and scrambled eggs with cheese. My friend had the breakfast quesadilla and french toast another time and they were both was just as tasty. Also, being a vegetarian the breakfast platter came with meat but I was able to sub it for fruit one time and potatoes another. Also, gluten free options if that's important to you. I really like this place. Simple, wholesome food. Maybe not the healthiest, but this is definitely comfort food. The sausage gravy has a hint of cream of mushroom soup, like old school. Biscuits are tender, not as buttery, as I'd like, but still good. The ambiance is cute, super casual. Eating in a group or on the go, this place is good for any of it. I haven't had anything bad, but the flapjacks are by far the standout item. Skip the chocolate chip, blueberry, etc., and go straight for the gold -- apple cinnamon and raspberry walnut. They have big pieces of fruit and are bursting with flavor. The apple cinnamon ones especially are something I dream about and wish I could eat every morning. Two negatives I've experienced: - On my first visit, the juevos rancheros came without avodcado. The person who delivered it said their avocados weren't ripe yet, and she didn't want to give me a hard avocado. (I sat at the bar and had about 3 different servers refilling my coffee and water) Though a bit on the pricey side (I spent about $18 with a tip on an omelette and coffee), I would say it was well worth it. Plus, on the weekends, they apparently have complementary cornbread served with a sweet serving of apple butter. The food quality was excellent. My omelette wasn't runny and it's ingredients were cooked up perfectly. Furthermore, the breakfast potatoes weren't fried, but rather grilled up in a savory blend of spices and butter (just like mom makes 'em!) I wasn't rushed to finish eating or to get up and leave, despite the restaurant being packed (it likely helped that I was at the bar.)
