I wish I lived closer to this location! I used to and I took it for granted. Though it can be a pain to access since it's right on University, directly on the light rail line, it worth parking and walking to. On my recent visit I noticed they've lowered their prices! Can't think of the last time I'd seen that. My go-to order is the overflowing grapefruit, half sweet, light ice and I add strawberry. It's the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and refreshing. This is a small, but convenient shop around the corner from the Prospect Park light rail stop. It's also my personal favorite place to grab a fruit tea! (The jasmine apple green tea with basil seeds is divine) There's a lot of variety and plenty of options to personalize (sweetness level, toppings, etc). There's kiosks to order and pay for a quick stop. I love their $3.50 daily specials that they rotate monthly! For a bubble tea place, they're surprisingly affordable! I call it a win when I don't have to pay over $9. The workers there have been kind and helpful with recommendations. We were craving some bubble tea and noticed a store nearby. This store is kind of hard for parking, they face a busy street. We parked down the street and walked there. They have a daily special price for certain drinks $3.49, limit 1 drinks per person until they run out. The drink changes daily. Cute store and clean cafe. Has few tables and chairs to dine in. They also offer desserts- individual cakes. They specialize in tea, so some drinks will taste more like tea and not sweet like other Boba teas from other stores. My daughter ordered the lychee oolong tea which was perfectly sweet. However the thai tea was not. They added more sweetener into my drink until I said perfect. A cute little boba shop right off the metro green line & next to fresh thyme! They used to be located in Dinkytown but recently relocated! Relocated or not, their drinks are still tasty and they're still busy. I got the Kiwi Basil Green tea ($5.50) and I am super happy to say that you can really taste the tea quality! One of the key things to look for in boba drinks is the tea flavor and quality and they nailed those. They also have a large variety of traditional boba drinks (like milk tea, thai tea, taro, etc.) but also unique ones which I will be back to try! The pricing is pretty standard, not too pricey not too expensive. And the place is a little smaller. Only a few tables so I wouldn't plan to hang out in here. Feng cha will be one of the boba places I will always go to if I ever want any boba near by. I have gone to feng cha more than I can count. Feng cha menu is small but does have a lot of options with a cheese foam. Feng cha dirty boba strawberry is good. The inside is small, but it has room for you to sit and study (before covid). I came here on a Saturday night hoping to get my boba fix. Sadly I was very disappointed. There was already a huge group of people waiting for their drinks and the store was understaffed with just one student making drinks and we waited over 40 minutes for 2 drinks (without boba because they ran out and the staff member didn't have enough time to make more). Sad to report that our drinks were also made incorrectly with no lychee jelly in one and missing sea salt foam in another. Given the long wait and other people waiting behind us we decided to just leave. Management seriously needs to make sure the store is staffed appropriately and it sounds like several other reviewers had a long wait as well. read more

I'm familiar with the Feng Cha brand but haven't been to one in person. I came with my partner shortly after they opened up, and we were helped right away. We were the only ones in there, and the girl behind the counter was friendly and shared the paper version of their menu with us where they have the 10 most popular drinks and the regular menu with all of their drinks from pure tea to milk tea to drinks with cheese foam etc. She did misunderstand my order, which is probably also my fault for not telling her that I wanted the boba that's included in my drink and that I wanted to pay for the pudding ingredient on top of the boba already in my drink. She thought I wanted pudding instead. She was really friendly when I told her, she gave me a scoop of the tapioca separately, where I ended up loving in my drink. I was able to put the tapioca in myself after removing the lid, taking a few sips to make room for it. She also honored my partner's request for the breeze drink to be made without cheese foam. The quality of the tea is high and reminds me of TeAmo back in Chicago, and I also love how high quality the cup is and is definitely something I notice as I needed to remove the sticker lid. Their tapioca was super fresh, chewy, and had the perfect amount of brown sugar marinating it. While the tea is high quality and the service is great, I prefer the traditional boba shops. However, it is a place that I will recommend to others as they have something for everyone and a place I would return to when I'm in the area next. read more

First time here and it was confusing with the names of the drinks not being main stream. I was a little overwhelmed because I was used the names being basically the same at all other bubble tea places I've been so it took a little getting used to for ordering. I had the Thai milk tea and it was good with the crystal boba. My daughters had mango breeze but without the milk foam on top. It was a little pricey but good. It's on the front side of Fresh Thyme grocery store and park in the Fresh Thyme parking lot. Small place but they have a few tables to sit and visit. We did not try any of the desserts. We don't go to the U very often and so not sure when we will come back next. read more

3.5 stars if I could... I usually go for Thai Tea or black milk tea wherever I go, and both were underwhelming here. Lack of flavor for sure. However, the "cheese" milk foam was the best... I love cheese milk foam and have been looking for it all over the cities. I'm so glad this place serves it, as well as salted foam. I wish I could've just had a whole cup of that because it was the star of both drinks I got. However, I think the $1.50 to add it is a little steep... In my experience, I've seen $0.75 to add it so this is DOUBLE the amount for the same amount of foam. Granted, it is tasty and I did pay for it (twice, ugh) but still... Should be cheaper. Especially when the drinks start off kind of high already. It would be so easy to get a drink that's $6 or more here with a topping and a foam. Kind of not worth it when the tea is mediocre. I live nearby and I'm always craving a strawberry or mango breeze drink with cream cheese foam & lychee jelly to make my day. To be honest, I'm constantly having to limit myself to how many times I go each week because they're just that good. Feng Cha just opened recently and I've already seen people around the prospect park neighborhood walking around with delicious-looking bubble tea, so I had to give it a try. Located under The Link, this is a prime coffee, tea, bubble tea, and dessert place for anyone in the area. Their dirty bubble tea was incredibly unique/ delicious and the foam on top mixed so well with the sweet brown sugar drizzled all over the cup. Overall, I would give this place a 3.4/5 mainly due to the flavor, service and price. The flavors are a hit or miss, depending on what you order. The service is pretty slow- often times I only see one worker, who I feel bad for, because coming from a big friendly, I usually order 4-5 drinks at one time. I would say that the price is also a little higher than other boba/bubble tea place because the pearls and such are additional add on it seemed. It was my first time in Minneapolis and I was waiting for my flight. No matter where I am, I'm always on the hunt for boba (I should really know by now that there's just places that lack good tea). I wanted to try something else other than KFT and found Feng Cha. Located inside the restaurant named Pagoda (dim sum/Chinese food restaurant?). There were people (owners?) inside that weren't speaking Chinese though but I'm guessing that's what they specialize in from their menu. Anyways, I'm guessing prior to COVID, you'd enter through the restaurant to get to the tea shop. They do not have a separate entrance. From the window, I saw two tables dedicated to the tea shop. It's located on campus and there's paid street parking in front of the restaurant. You just wait outside/in your car for them to call you as the hallway to order/pick is extremely short and narrow. Ordering: It's a bit cumbersome to order so if you're going to call in your order, do it way way in advance... like before you even get dressed to leave your house because it takes a good minute for the drinks. I think you can order online to make it easier, but I'm from out of town so can't comment on it. 4 stars from my fiancé for his matcha milk foam black tea. He expected boba but didn't explicitly ask me sooo no boba for him. 1 star for my salted milk foam black tea and 1.5 stars for his drink... maybe. He really enjoyed his drink and said it was the best of two, black tea and matcha. I personally couldn't really distinguish any matcha flavor and I LOVE matcha. Didn't adjust sugar (couldn't see the adjustments available from the menu taped to the window) and only asked for less ice. Surprisingly not sweet at all, but also weak tea flavor. The tea tasted like it was fresh brewed and didn't have enough time to seep. Staff was 5 stars - super friendly but it just took a long time for the drinks, I probably waited 15-20 minutes. This shop is on the side of a main restaurant, normally with its own entrance I believe but as of Sept 2020 you enter through the main restaurant to access it. Staff was great, friendly and helpful. There is a rewards program you can earn free drinks with. The only recommendation I have is order a large! It's only a little more money, and a lot more drink. When I bookmarked this place, I was surprised to read that it's located inside Pagoda since I've been there a few times pre-COVID and didn't notice...maybe I thought it was just part of the restaurant? Anyways, it works out because I've enjoyed tasty meals at Pagoda so I figured I'd order lunch-to-go with my tea. It was a hot day so I was craving for something refreshing and decided on grapefruit tea with basil seeds and matcha green tea foam. I placed my order through their yelp page, which uses grub hub. What's unique is that this place provides an option of having more or less ice, which allows you to get more tea so of course I went with the less ice option. :-) The tea was refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness. I opted for 50% sweet. There was a big slice of grapefruit at the bottom, which made it extra refreshing each time I'd get some bits of it in my sip. I will definitely be making more stops here to try their other varieties of tea. read more

SCORE! A great boba place in the Twin Cities that deserves 5 stars! Feng Cha is a counter located inside of Pagoda, an Asian restaurant near the U. Apparently, this space used to be a private karaoke room, but I guess they converted it for some reason? Not complaining, since this will definitely be my new go-to spot! I ordered a large lightly roasted oolong milk tea with coconut jelly topping and a cheese milk cap. What I love is they already make their milk tea 50% sugar level, which is the right amount of sweetness. Most other places make it way too sweet! The milk cap was deliciously salty-sweet, and the coconut jellies were excellent. Service was great, too! Tried Feng Cha (located in Pagoda) for the first time and it was soooo good. Less sweet than most other boba tea shops but the tea is very fragrant. If you get a milk foam tea, you get to choose your foam, your tea, and any additional toppings. I got the Rose Oolong Tea with Milk Cheese Foam, boba, and coconut jelly with no ice. Love the cheese! Reminds me of the cream cheese in cheesecake or lightly sweetened butter cream. My BF got the lightly roasted oolong tea with cheese milk foam and bubbles. It's definitely different from the very sweet bubble teas most of us are accustomed to from the bubble tea shops around town, but it makes the experience even better, and helps differentiates them. I would definitely come back to try the other drinks, especially since the service was great AND it's located in one of my favorite spots for happy hour chicken wings. Parking in Dinkytown is always a gamble depending on time of day, but I do believe Pagoda has some parking in the back (although I have yet to use it). read more

(Pandemic Era Review) I'm a tea person. Anyone who knows my reviews knows this. Unfortunately, this means I'm also a bit of a tea snob. This place exceeded my expectations by a mile. Attached to the Pagoda pan-Asian restaurant next door, I wandered into this adorable little shop while waiting for my order. Styled to be a walk-in and out style shop, they listed some of their more popular drinks right at the entry. Now, I saw they had a Black Tea with Tiramisu milk foam drink and was intrigued. While most of their offerings consisted of boba and dirty tea, this one seemed more like a dessert. So I walked up and ordered. The service was good, the barista was polite and friendly, wore gloves and a mask. She also changed gloves before heading to the back to make my drink, which was a step I don't see many people doing! In less than two minutes I had my drink--which was a large and most certainly lived up to that moniker--with a sealed lid for travel. It looked amazing, and it tasted even better. The black tea was mixed with some of the foam, leaving a creamy flavor and texture that didn't detract from the refreshing flavor of the tea at all. When I got to the end, I hit the milk foam. These guys know what they're doing! It tasted exactly like tiramisu, just softer. Breakdown: Cleanliness-5/5, Service-5/5, Tea-5/5, Price-5/5. This place was a knockout! The lemon black tea was super refreshing on a summer's day (I went here in July). The lemon flavor was strong which I liked. I forgot to add boba so I added it after and it was ok, honestly didn't go that well with the tea and actually would've preferred without. It wasn't as chewy and sweet as other places. My friend got the tiramisu milk foam earl grey tea and thought it was really good, the tea was brewed well. She got it 50% sweet and thought it was refreshing and the tiramisu foam balanced out the tea by adding a creamy, nutty flavor. read more

I've been to this place a couple times now. They're conveniently located inside Pagoda (which means grab a drink before eating or just simple grab a drink). They have a fairly simple menu, but with such deliciously well executed teas. I've had a couple different, or the same drinks with slight variations. Seemingly, the things I order, they tend to run out (also, because generally am there at the end of the night when it's near closing time). But the substitutes have always been delicious. This is another bubble tea shop recently popping up around the University of Minnesota a. Unlike other spots around like Kung Fu tea and Sencha, this place emphasizes authentic tea flavors rather than strong fruit flavors. So of course I came by to check it out. It's a bit hard to find, sharing a space and entrance with Pagoda. Ordereda fresh fruit tea, the citrus lord, and was surprised to find that 1) the cup was quality, and 2) there's an actual freaking bag of tea in the cup, which made the tea flavor even better. The flavoring is very subdued and overall, it was a refreshing drink. I look forward to checking out their more unique options like milk foam tea and other specialty drinks. Hopefukly, in the future, they'll add in more dessert options that is shown on the website.
