I ordered the fried flounder fillet and it was cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of batter. I paired it with a side of tostones (though for $3, I was expecting more than four--at least a whole plantain's worth would've made more sense). Fried fish without the abundance of oil that saturates your chin and fingers while eating. Your fresh catch is prepared perfectly, large portions and plated to satisfy your belly not your eyes. Service is superb given the fact that you are dining in an active fish market. Ambiance is simplistic and of course the fish market fishy smell. If you love seafood that scent will only entice your appetite. Staff is extremely seafood knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly but no time for chit chat here. a small hole in the wall fish market that fries the fish of your choice on the spot for a VERY low price in bergenline. they also serve rice and ceviche and other latin side dishes that I'm not familiar with such as some kind of seafood in a shot glass. salad is just basic iceberg lettuce with slices of tomatoes. Simple and delicious! the workers are nice and efficient. the only thing is it gets hot in the summer as the kitchen and the dining tables are connected and the place isn't the cleanest-looking. However, I have yet to get sick from there so it's all good in the neighborhood. There's also plenty of places down the street for dessert; that's always a plus! :) read more

I been eating here since 2007. When I crave fish this is my place. Is not a restaurant per se is a place to eat fresh fish. Have 6 tables for 4 people each plus some chairs. You select the piece of fish you want to eat they lay fresh over ice, you point what you want, you can take home raw or cooked there. there is ceviche too. U can have it with salad, rice with vegetables and fried plantains. I really don't know any more options than those. (Note) all is really fresh and abundant and less than $10. Before you go or invite a girl there you have to think about it because (as I mentioned) there is fresh fish over ice and that smell some oversensitive people won't stand it. to me is not an issue I grew up eating fish so. When you eat this you will feel energized really. Fresh food give u strength I really feel it here. It can be hit or miss depending on if the oil is old or fish left in too long but overall I've had a pretty good experience. I would gave this place 4 stars because their fried fish is good but it's too inconsistent. Feels like 40% of the time the fish is overcooked and rubbery. Of course that means that 60% of the time it is good, so I'll still go and take the chance. Their salad also needs work. Sliced tomatoes + lettuce = bad salad. read more
