I've been here several times and have had some good and some not so good experiences. My last was not so good. I got the gel pedicure and my technician cut me with the nail file. They use the cheap ones that are super sharp on the edges not the padded ones that cost more but are less likely to cut the skin. As you can see she got me pretty good and laughed every time I flinched when the product stung or she went in again to file... I'll go back but I will bring my own file and not use that girl again. Back to what I thought a good salon was. I go here because I can literally throw a rock at it in relation to where I live. I've probably gone here a handful of times. Because it's not often I treat myself to services. Let's put the emphasis on you are going there for a service. Last time I was here I didn't have the best experience with the owner. She got frustrated that I changed my color decision (pre-polish application) simply because I said "I'm just an indecisive girly! I love all the colors". Mind you this is pre polish. The girl was cleaning up my feet for gel polish application. I felt like I was being ridiculed for speaking up, and if you have a problem in real life with confrontation, this could be hard to do for most. So I felt like I was being dismissed, accompanied with a bad attitude. I let it pass that time. Maybe I caught her on a bad day. Fast forward to like 7 months later (present day) and I'm here to pamper myself and get a service done. I walk in the door and was immediately prompted with bad energy by her. I told her I was doing a gel polish and she carelessly tossed her hand to the side at the colors and rolled her eyes almost. I wanted to walk out but I was already here and honestly I wanted to see how it played out with her again. I don't necessarily want to give this place 1 star because I feel like the workers are good, maybe if you find your select one to go to in this establishment, but I just can't get down with the amount of rudeness coming from the owner and how she decides to treat people. I too once worked for an owner like this. Not much longer after I quit, the business was no longer there. People stop arriving due to your attitude. Workers stop trying to defend your actions. In this economy it is a luxury for some people to get their nails done. You can't be playing with my emotions AND my money. No thanks. Today was the last day. I am very disgusted by the service I received today. I just lost both of my parents and finally went in to get my nails done and I thought I would give this place a try since I live so close. I should have read the reviews first ! I went in to get new set of nails on my hands and to get a pedicure. The lady that did my pedicure talked me into doing a paraffin pedicure so I went with it and I paid extra for 10 minute massage barely got a massage on my calves and she never did my feet at all. The nail polish is barely on my nails. It looks like a 12-year-old did my feet. I'm not even kidding. She cut my nails so short it was bleeding. She was very nice but she did a horrible job. Then, I go to the girl who's supposed to do my nails and I find out it's the owner so I'm thinking I'm alright ....NOPE !!! She does my nails and I'm like in total disbelief, I'm watching her doing them and in my head I'm like is this for real? She barely sands the acrylic down at all. It looks like I have little tiny bricks on my nails. I decided to tell her about the massage and how I barely got one and she's like "that's not my problem" she said "you should've told the lady who did your pedicure, that's not my problem" I was in shock. She had an attitude problem the whole time I was with her -big time! $150 later and I'm going to have to go to Delray to get my nails done the right way. It's a shame because I live right across the street from here and i cant even come here. I should have read the reviews first because they have horrible reviews !! not only was the "manager" rude, i asked for quick dry for my manicure, & she charged me $8 for "quick dry" polish on top of my $22 REGULAR manicure. I have never in my life paid this & will be telling everyone i know not to go there anymore. Barely cut my cuticles, barely did anything & was RUDE!!!! HORRIBLE JOB!!! Went in to get power nail with tips. The tips they use are cheap and even with the powder they didn't get hard. Paid 54.00 and had to go somewhere else to get them redone. If I can give a negative star I would. They don't even deserve one star. I decided not to get French tip. The guy doing my nails seemed completely bothered by me and not wanting French tip. When it was time for to pay, he still was charging me for French tip. I said I'm not paying for French tip and that's not what I got. Then he says that if they paint on the French tip, you still have to charge for it even if you don't get it. He is very precise and pays attention to every aspect in the process. HORRIBLE experience!!!!! I apologize in advance for the long review. I took my daughter here because of my friend's recommendation who goes here since childhood. I got a full set from a gentleman who was very pleasant & professional and did an excellent job. In the meantime my daughter got a pedicure from a lovely lady who also did an excellent job and was very sweet. Then I sat to the side and watched my daughter from a distance getting a full set. Heidi the owner was just rude and unpleasant. She greeted her by barking at her to "Sit down" and grabbed her hands and pulled on them aggressively. My daughter asked her for long nails which she gets all the time. She was told, she will not get her long nails because her nail bed is small and she can tell she chews her nails .... ???? My daughter told her that she never once had a problem getting long nails in the last 7 years but she completely ignored her and started cutting all of the nails off. Once she cut all of them, she asked "Did you want them longer?" knowing she wanted them long. My daughter should have said yes but she is non-confrontational and was already feeling very uncomfortable. Heidi got more and more aggressive pulling on her arms and even cutting her once and not apologizing. My daughter finally spoke up and asked her if she was the manager and asked her to please stop yanking on her hands but she ignored her. I was sitting far away and I could tell that Heidi was rude and aggressive but I wish I knew what was really going on because I would have said something. Once we we were in the car my daughter started crying. I was reading some of the 1 star reviews about Heidi and unfortunately we can relate to them. I've been going to Fancy Nails for approximately a year and will not return. I started out giving a 20% tip, then dropped to 10% because Heidi is constantly answering her phone and directing employees. I guess she doesn't trust her employees, because she needs COMPLETE control, so it's no wonder nobody smiles and looks like they all dislike their jobs. I had an appointment on Wednesday, April 17th for 10:00, but I was early. When Heidi came in, she never said good morning, no smile just gave me an order to go sit at her station. She was condescending in her attitude, so I finally asked her if she had a problem with me and her excuse was, she was trying not to hurt my fingers??? I have lived in Boynton for 16 years and Fancy Nails is my go to nail salon. Good mani and pedi at reasonable prices. What I didn't expect was my first massage experience with Eugene last Friday. It was incredible!! The whole experience, lighting, warm table, music and the best massage I have ever had. And I have had massages at the Ritz Carlton. I was really disappointed. I went in to get a gel Mani and gel Pedi before my wedding, and paid $92 (including tip). I went in on Wednesday, and by Saturday, the polish was lifting at my nail beds on ALL of my fingers. By the following day, I already had a chip in my toe polish. And because it was for my wedding, I was extra careful with my hands and feet - meaning no dishes, swimming, etc, as I wanted it to last thru my wedding and honeymoon. So for almost $100, my Mani lasted only 4 days and my Pedi lasted only 5 days. When I do my own gel manicure at home, it lasts 3-4 weeks. Ive been here 3 times. The place is clean and they offer all the services you could want, but they're not particularly friendly or accommodating. I went in last week for a gel manicure. They really rush to get you in and out and get irritated if you want to spend more than 5 seconds picking a color. The manicure was a D+ She nipped my cuticles in a few places making me bleed, my cuticles looked awful and one nail chipped the next day. I went on the boat that weekend and my baby blue nails turned yellow. I figured "lets give them another chance." As my regular nail place was closed. I went back for another manicure and a pedicure 3 days later. I called to make sure it was ok that i showed up 70min before closing for mani/pedi. I show up, and they tell me i only have time for a polish change- "ok fine." The girl doing my nails told me my nails were ugly and that "you should have asked for a manicure."
