Went next door to the chicken place and noticed a chinese, Thai restaurant was next door. Husband and I moved from Palm Coast to Ormond a year ago and have tried just about every Chinese place in town to our disappointment. So, my husband said, why don't i order my fav chinese dish for take out and have it for dinner the next night.. i ordered chicken with mixed vegs in white sauce and an egg drop soup. Cute little place next to the remodeled publix it's a little dark inside but their egg rolls are delicious!!! Definitely recommend trying them. I also bought the combination platter general tso it comes with rice and an egg roll and some sauces and a fortune cookie. We have searched for a decent traditional honest meal ever since having moved here from New York City 12 years ago. Finally, we found a restaurant that satisfies our cravings. If you want good old egg roll, Won Ton Soup or spare ribs you will enjoy this restaurant's offerings. My husband loves their shrimp with lobster sauce and our friends enjoy the egg foo Jung. The restaurant serves sushi and I think other Asian offerings but we stick to the traditional food. The wait staff are attentive and the owner, Candy is always ready to help and make our meal pleasant. The atmosphere is nothing fancy but we don't go for the decor. CONS: - the place needs some updating in the dining room and the stained ceiling tiles replaced. - didn't offer alternative milk for the Thai tea. I can't drink regular milk - I would have ordered the pad Thai but I was told they cannot make it without any spiciness. I'm pregnant and get heartburn too easily. But I'm gonna try it at their mildest and update later. - place was dead but floor was pretty dirty - Bathroom was disgusting and frightening. Seriously they need to throw some money and redo it. It's really disgusting. Mold around sink, grime and years of old life stains. It wouldn't cost a lot to get that bathroom up to minimum standards. It seriously needs attention IMMEDIATELY LATER UPDATE: - the pad Thai was still spicy even with minimum spicy. This seriously should be corrected for those who honestly can't have spicy but want to provide business to the restaurant. I should have paid heed to the warning signs. The first warning sign was the smell that I noticed upon entering. You know, the smell that makes you want to hurry up and leave because you know that if you stay too long, you and your clothes will be smelling like Chinese food for the rest of the day. Just smelling "fried" until you go home and take a shower. And then there was the lack of patrons during the lunch rush hour of noon to 1pm. I should have known that there was a reason why the place was empty. I should have known... I ordered the lunch combo of General Tso's Chicken. It came with mounds of pork fried rice and a choice of egg drop soup, won-ton soup, or a can of soda. You will definitely get a large amount of food for the low price of $5 and some change! But the food was not good at all. The rice was very greasy and the veggies in the dish were not very fresh. The egg drop soup wasn't good either. I would not order that again! I ordered the clear soup and it was obvious they used a packet for the soup mix rather than actually making it from scratch & their mushrooms were all rotting and not cleaned properly. Spring rolls: they were not cooked fully inside. They were like goopy glue. Lomein: this was unlike any I've ever had. It was entirely too oniony. Also, when you order vegetable lomein it's usually including a variety of veg... nope... one piece of broccoli literally, tons of onion, and two bean sprouts! Thai peanut curry: it was edible but the sauce had exploded all over the bag! Pork fried rice: it was absolutely disgusting!!!! The pork tasted off, it was soooooo dry and gamey tasting. There was hardly any seasoning on the rice either it was mostly just oil. All in all- the food was disgusting. I'm pregnant and was afraid I would get food poisoning. We tried Pacific Bistro for takeout on a recommendation from a friend and we were really happy with all the dishes we got. The steamed pork dumplings were delicious. The wrapper was thin and filling was well flavored as well as the dipping sauce had green onion in it! We came from NJ where we got spoiled with many delicious Chinese restaurants. I haven't seen scallions in the sauce since we moved! We also ordered the Tom Yum Soup which was spicy and sweet - just the right balance with big shrimp - tons of fresh cilantro and other mixed veggies. We also ordered the Orange Chicken - we were pleased that it was not small little ends that we commonly get but nice chunks. The last dish was the chicken with mixed vegetables. It was also amazing. We loved ordering delivery for this place. There food was good and it was prompt. Las time we ordered they charged us incorrectly our bill was $80 so after discussing with the driver that it wasnt correct I signed the reciept but didnt tip the driver. They can give him some of the $80 they charged us. When my husband went to order after that they told him they couldn't deliver to our house anymore because we didnt tip the driver. We will never order from here again After checking the menu it just says limited area $15 or more for delivery...nothing about delivery driver only working for tips which is what they told my husband! read more

I ordered General Tso's Chicken lunch and the chicken was good but my broccoli was cold and the fried rice was very bland tasting. Mt wife had the Chicken Teriyaki dinner and her chicken was good (average), white rice was white rice and her vegetables were also stone cold. Egg Roll and Salad were both good. UNFORTUNATELY, while we were eating we observed TWO LIVE ROACHES crawling under the table next to us. I said something to our waitress when I was giving her my credit card and she did not say a word or apologize. I asked to see the manager and he did not come out so on my way out I asked once again to speak to the manager and at least he did apologize. My concern of course if this is what the dining room is like, I have concerns about the kitchen/food prep area. Based upon average food (actually we both agreed that we've had better at fast food Chinese take-out), vegetables being cold and the roaches, we will never be back. One of my all time favorite places to eat. Best lunch specials ever. Located in Trails shopping Center I ate lunch there yesterday. Drove around parking lot looking for spot to park but parking was horrible. Parking lot full of pot holes and in poor shape. Ended up driving around back to park but was totally disgusted by the horrendous smell coming from the dumpster. Actually made me gag.... the smell waifed all the way to Publix. The fact that the awnings were removed leaves no rain protection and its Florida and it rains a lot!! Trails is run down....trash everywhere. This little gem in the Trails shopping center is a friendly family-run business. I'm not a Sushi guy so I can't comment on the Sushi but the Chinese food is flavorful, well seasoned, and most dishes are generous with the vegetables. Order any of the meat with broccoli dishes and you'll see what I mean. The hot and sour soup is very tasty without any of the thickeners that some restaurants use and the Thai fried rice (chicken or pork) has a nice mixture of veggies and pineapple. The portions are all generous (my wife and I often have leftovers), All in all, a nice local Chinese restaurant, good for lunch or dinner. read more
