The drinks and food were great! The duck was delicious. Succulent and yummy with the sauce. I would definitely come back for it.

Excellent service and wonderful tasting food. The restaurant is very unique - looks like an old house. Inside was clean and the spacing between tables provided ample room for my wife and I. We celebrated our 31st anniversary. They made up the table quickly with streamers and close to the fireplace. We ordered the clam chowder and French onion soup. Both came out piping hot and were very tasty. They also gave us a basket of bread and butter and a small plate of kalamata olives. I had the NY steak and my wife had the Capri chicken. The steak was cooked on a fire grill in the middle of the restaurant. It came out perfectly cooked medium rare, with veggies. The chicken was also very tasty. They surprised us with a complementary desert. Total = $148 (including tip). This place is a bit pricy but certainly worth visiting at least once.

The restaurant looks very rundown from outside but once inside, it's a nice place. The food is good and the service is exceptional. The best part is that they have Soufflé and that's hard to find in Monterey area.

We chose this restaurant because it had a good rating and enough reviews. It presents itself as somewhat pretentious. Inside, the atmosphere and coziness look nice. The service itself is organized well. But for this kind of pretentious presentation, the plates and silverware were not polished, with residue from dried water. I ordered duck medium-well, they brought it medium rare. The manager clearly noticed my surprise and offered to cook it more. I think that was a bad idea. The duck tasted as if it had been reheated on the second day. On top of that, it was completely drowned in a sauce that ruined the flavor. The side dish was obviously frozen, packaged vegetables and mashed potatoes with cheese. All of this together created a horrible composition. And even separately, everything tasted bad. My wife simply refused to say or write anything about the osso buco she ordered. What I liked: the bread was good, the olives were good, the orange in the duck they still managed to ruin. The service was good and friendly. What I didn't like: unpolished silverware with hard-water marks. Bottled beer only. I would fire the person who created the menu. The duck was simply terrible both individually and overall. And to the one who cooked it, I would suggest making burritos -- that would probably turn out better. Overall, good marketing, a pretty wrapper, and bad content. They spent money on marketing but didn't have enough left for a good chef and a kitchen team. After that, we went to the brewery next door and had an excellent pizza from a real Italian oven, with good -- not bottled -- beer. All at a price three times cheaper.

Delicious food, great service, perfect quaint ambiance! We got the goat cheese salad and Caesar salad to start. Our server was so skilled and remembering the specials and wine list! It was so impressive! For our entree's, we got short ribs with potatoes al gratin and the scallop special. I didn't want to pasta that came with the dish but the server recommended the saffron rice and veggies as a replacement. It still went perfectly. For dessert...we couldn't resist the crème brûlée. Would highly recommend if you want a fancy date night out or celebrating a milestone in your life.

We came here for my sister's 60th birthday. The service was wonderful and they celebrated the bday with streamers on the table. We did bring our own sparkling wine (corkage fee $45). The tapas were delicious, the escargot brought us back to Paris, the sand dabs were ok, the goat cheese salad was wonderful!!! We ended the night with the best dessert. Their Grand Marnier soufflé was exquisite. It was light, fluffy, and perfectly not too sweet. Jorge was amazing. The whole restaurant honored my sister's birthday with a lovely port at the end of dinner and a lovely "on the house" soufflé. We would go again. The ambience was old-world French / Italian. A lovely place. Excited to go back again.

Had dinner there last night. Fandango has been a favorite spot of mine for more than two decades. Can't go wrong with the paella, salmon, chicken, sand dabs, or calamari. All are fabulous! While the food is excellent enough to draw me back, the service and style of Fandango are a perfect complement to the food.

So pleasant for a large older restaurant with a huge fireplace, wood- beamed callings, white tableclothes. We were quickly greeted by our server Pedro who answered questions and shared the specials. He was attentive but not obtrusive throughout the evening. My husband's filet was prepared to perfection. My NY was overcooked but was immediately taken to be replaced. The host/maitre d' checked on us as well. Desserts were delicious - lemon cheesecake with raspberries NY style and Gran Marnier soufle - and beautifully presented. We lingered over wine and a cordial. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Fandango's with 40 years of tradition on the Monterey Peninsula. Whether you're craving filet mignon, rack of lamb, duck with orange sauce or seafood this is your go to. Excellent dining and service. Definitely need reservations. Buon Appetito!

Food is always good. It used to be great. High prices, uneven service and loud atmosphere ruined it.

All the staff we met were really good. So, goes without saying I feel bad leaving this review, but I rely on Yelp for recommendations, so I have to. The food was genuinely bad. We ordered French onion soup which arrived lukewarm. The croutons inside were hard. Not crunchy, just stale tasting and hard. I took one bite and realized the cheese on top was actually cold and not melted either. I went back in for onions but got another rock hard cruton. Set it aside to be sent back. The Brussel sprouts were good. No complaints. Steak tartare was bathed in some sort of ketchup-tasting sauce that completely overpowered the other flavors. We ate most of it because we were hungry but I wouldn't recommend it. We ended up canceling our entrees and left. The manager was apologetic and again- I genuinely feel terrible leaving this review. That said, there are so many really good places nearby that it would be unfair for me to sweep this awful food experience under the rug.

IMHO My friends and…read moreI came to Left Bank for a celebratory birthday lunch. We chose a comfy booth inside the restaurant after realizing it was just a tad too warm to sit outside. (However, people watching is so much fun when sitting outside!) Cosme was our fabulous server who shared the daily specials with us. I asked him which I should choose, the Ahi Tuna BLT, $26, or the Nicoise Salad, $31. He recommended the BLT! Two friends decided to share the Wester Ross Scottish Salmon, $36, and our other friend ordered her favorite Nicoise salad, $31. My Ahi Tuna BLT was a sight to behold! This sourdough sandwich was crunchy on the outside and multi-layered with sliced ahi tuna, bacon, avocado, tomato, butter lettuce and a horseradish aioli, on the inside, and served with a side of thin and crispy French fries! The portion size was so big that I could only eat half the sandwich! I really like bang-for-my-buck, and I definitely got it with this entree! The fries were perfection, salty and crispy! My friend who always ordered the Nicoise salad when she dines here, totally cleaned her plate. This salad was another showstopper. It was almost too pretty to eat! The two friends who shared the salmon entree were not as impressed. They both thought the salmon was a tad dry when Cosme explained it should be served medium. One friend thought the cauliflower puree base helped to compensate a little for the dryness of the salmon, but the other friend chose to share her displeasure with Cosme, who apologized, then relayed the message to the chef. Shortly after, Cosme offered to have another salmon cooked, which my friends agreed to. Then Left Bank's general manager, Jessica, came over to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Jessica kindly heard their comments regarding the salmon (and the price for a small serving...no bang-for-your-buck with the salmon...) and offered to have another salmon served up for them. (We told her that Cosme had already arranged for that.) She assured she would inspect the next serving before it was presented. It came out looking even more beautiful and enticing then the first plating, and happily the cook and texture was perfect the second time around! I was surprised with a birthday plate of ice cream decorated with raspberries, a chocolate leaf, and yummy crushed wafers, compliments of Jessica. Thank you, Jessica, Cosme, and your staff for your epic customer service. We will definitely return again soon! I also used my InKind app to pay for my meal. I was able to redeem my InKind reward to pay a portion of my lunch!

I'm giving it 2 stars because there wasn't much of a wait when we visited on a Sunday during the World Cup, and the drinks were actually pretty decent. Those were easily the highlights of the experience. The service, however, was lacking. Our server rarely checked on us, and it often felt like we had been forgotten. We ordered three appetizers, but only two ever made it to the table. The two that arrived were honestly disappointing and not something I would order again. The third appetizer never came out at all, and by the time we realized it had been forgotten, we were so over the experience that we decided to leave and find somewhere else to eat. It's disappointing because I really wanted to like it this time around. The location is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, and I was hoping my experience would be different after all these years. Sadly, the food and service still didn't live up to expectations. Maybe others have had better luck, but after giving Left Bank another shot years later, I'm still left feeling underwhelmed.
