Popped here for a happy hour on a Friday. They had just opened and the place was mostly empty. This review is for happy hour and food only. We ordered: Fish tacos- 3/5 while the fish was perfectly crispy it was way too greasy. Also the chipotle sauce that came with it lacked flavors Chicken wings. - would've given 4/5 but I'll settle on 3/5. The flavors were great, crispness was there, sauce was just right. Alas one of the pieces was a bit raw. Potato skin - 3/5 nothing to rave about. Could've use a bit of sauce. We had wine and a cocktail. Cocktail was really well balanced (the last word). Overall, it was ok but also a bit disappointing given the price point.

I was expecting so much more of this restaurant based on the reviews and I found it to be underwhelming and too expensive for the quality of the meals. The look and feel of the interior was an attempt to pretty what looked like an older diner format. They had the older tufted fake leather benches along the wall in a color that was an eyesore. They also used the style of divider between the kitchen and dining areas that was a remnant from the classic diner layout. The service was very good. Their team definitely elevated the dining experience. They were quick to greet us and checked in as needed during our meal. We ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was fairly bland and relied on the steak sauce to spice things up. I wasn't a fan of the steak sauce, so the combination of the no flavor steak, whipped mashed potatoes and a tasty set of asparagus was the main part of my meal. I cannot recommend this restaurant and I won't be returning.

The small wedge of burrata... too small for name and the amount of lettuce!

Came tonight, impromptu Friday night date with the husband.... Pros- we came early, so early we benefited from their happy hour menu! Ordered their spicy chicken sandwich which comes with fries ($16), their burrata salad ($14, I think), and one cocktail for me plus a beer for my husband, all for roughly $60, without tip! The mixologist was really good, she knew a lot about the different drinks and gave us helpful details... I enjoyed my cocktail a lot! Cons- the burrata salad came with a very small amount of burrata! Honestly, it should not be called "burrata salad," with the amount of burrata the dish came with. The salad was tasty, but given name and amount of cheese, was a let down overall.

The food was so delicious I don't have many pictures of it lol. My son gobbled up the deep fried olives (we had to get a second order). Our service was excellent. Another willow glen plus- it has its own parking lot. I'd recommend it for a date night because it has very date night vibes. We did do with family (and they had both high chair and kids options), but I'd probably go back with just adults.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Black Sheep Brasserie in Willow Glen this past Saturday night, and it was fantastic from start to finish. Not only was the food amazing, but our waiter Lupe--along with the rest of the team--went above and beyond to make the evening special. We started with a perfectly crafted Espresso Martini, a refreshing Hazy IPA, and a smooth Vieux Carré, plus a rich, flavorful French Onion Soup and a fresh 1/2 dozen Fanny Bay Oysters. For entrées, the Mussels and Clams were outstanding, the Truffle Parmesan Cheese Fries were indulgent and delicious, the Braised Short Ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender, the Linguine Seafood Pasta was loaded with fresh seafood, and even the Chicken Sandwich was a standout--juicy and packed with flavor. Everything from the pacing of the meal to the warm, attentive service made the night memorable. Black Sheep Brasserie has truly mastered the balance of exceptional food and top-notch hospitality. We'll absolutely be back!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Passed through this area of Willow Glen and been eyeing out this place for sometime. Decided to try on a Friday night, made reservations online was about to get a table right away. We were seated right away and the waiter made some great food suggestions, especially since I'm a pescatarian. We started off with some a raw oysters, beef tartare and pate for my partner. It was tasty and well presented. Great selection of wine and whiskey choices. I had the '22 Pinot Noir Cotiere wine and now it's one of my favorites, great balance for any dishes. My partner had the Japanese whiskey, always the perfect smoothness. Being pescatarian and eating no oils was always a challenge when dining outdoors. However, the chef was about to prepare a grill salmon over grilled vegetables for me. It was so tasty. My partner had the ribeye and lamb racks, and it's well seasoned-cooked a perfectly medium rare. Desserts: We shared the freshest berry bread pudding topped with white chocolate and vanilla ice cream scoop. Delicious finishing. This place is one of my favorite place now.

    Short Ribs with Mushroom Risotto

Black Sheep Brasserie shares space with Stacks which is a breakfast location. They have their own parking lot which is great in downtown Willow Glen. The ambiance is modern and nice and the service was fine. I have not been here in awhile so I expected to get the same quality of food as my previous visits however that was not the case. We ordered the Short Ribs with Mushroom Risotto and a Rack of Lamb which both arrived looking very appetizing. The short ribs were cooked to perfection and were soft and moist but lacked flavor as well as the mushroom risotto. The lamb was the same. It was cooked well but it just was not up to par. Overall it was good, not great. There are better options for the money.

Since moving to WG, I've had this place bookmarked for a while. I finally found the opportunity to come for dinner and drinks with some friends on a Wednesday evening. We made a reservation for 4, but that was unnecessary as the restaurant was completely empty. Kinda shocking for DTWG, but maybe times have changed? I sadly will not return and do not recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is nice and gives off vibes that this is a fine dining establishment. The food and service, however, says otherwise. I ordered the Linguine Seafood Pasta ($33) for my entree and it was a huge disappointment as it had absolutely no flavor. Preggo/Ragu sauce would've done this dish wonders. Also, out of all the mussels & clams that came with the dish, only 25% had actual meat to them. The other 75% were empty shells. I don't recommend that linguine at all. I did enjoy the Russet Potato Gnocchi ($20), but feel like the portion could've been more generous. There were 8 gnocchis total. PSA - Check your bill upon paying. We arrived at 5PM just in time for "Happy Hour" where we were supposed to get $2 off cocktails. We ordered 3 cocktails to start and none of them received the Happy Hour discount. My fiancé paid the bill and never looks it over upon paying so it's on us, but don't let us be you. Note, my fiancé ordered a Dirty Martini ($21.50) and it was served in a non-martini glass. Also, no one even acknowledged that we were leaving. I don't care about that kind of stuff, but I do notice. There is a dedicated parking lot with plenty of parking and street parking on Lincoln Ave.

I've been here once before, but it was years ago, so I was excited to check it out again and see how it changed. This restaurant shares space with Stacks, a breakfast restaurant. It has a small parking lot on the side of the building, so we had no problem parking. We were greeted immediately upon entering and had our pick of tables, as the restaurant was not yet full. Service here was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. We were served our starters quickly but then had a long wait between starters and entrees. We were very disappointed in the wine list as the bottles were way overpriced and the by-the-glass options were uninspired, with a focus on Gilroy wines. Lucky for us, the cocktails were creative and excellent. We ordered a wedge salad. It came with cherries and tomatoes with ranch dressing and an overcooked hard-boiled egg. It was an interesting and non-traditional take on the classic salad, however, the blue cheese dressing from the classic recipe was sorely missed. I ordered the Grill Focaccia Salad, and it was good, with a light and slightly sweet dressing. Our entrees consisted of the Braised Short Ribs (which came with a heaping pile of mushroom risotto) and the Seared Duck Breast. Both entrees were delicious. Will we be back? I'm on the fence about that. It's a bit pricey for a restaurant that is less than stellar.

(Ryan Reynolds avec a French accent voiceover) The vibe is elegant spot for a soirée ou dinner on Lincoln! An updated sophisticated speakeasy ambiance but with gourmet cuisine! Adrianne warmly greeted us! Bisque. Sooo good. Microgreens. Sunflower seeds. Delightful! Crudo. Adrianne had me at bite sized. Très gourmet! Halibut! Gaspacho! Pesto. Radish, Cucumber, Caviar, and Citrus! Gorg & delish comme mon fave IG model! Rack of Lamb. Soo fab! Roasted beets are a must! Mesquite Grilled Pork Chop. My gosh! Hearty! Au gratin was divine! Broccolini! mmhmm! One of the best chops you'll ever taste! Home made ice cream! Matcha/Basil & Almond. Wow! Oui! Oui! Would order everything again! It was an epic meal at my nouveau fave place. Shhhh. Don't tell anyone, ladies, but this Black Sheep is très Michelinesque! C'est vrai! Thanks, Adrianne! Woohoo!

We came here for brunch hosted by "Stacks." Service was quick and efficient, we were seated immediately. Our server checked on us with good frequency. It's a small spot, but has good indoor/outdoor options and fairly spacious. We were able to fit a stroller inside without issue, which was a plus. The food was good, nothing extraordinary. Overall a nice spot for a casual morning-to-mid-afternoon bite.

IMHO Good food, nice server, slow service. Our starters included a dozen Miyagi oysters ($46), House made Focaccia ($6), Duck Liver Pate ($17), and Beet salad ($17), and Butternut Squash soup $$14. The guys enjoyed their oysters. The focaccia was super flavorful and yummy. I liked the liver pate, but I felt it should've been softer to cut and spread on the tiny pieces of crostini. Beet salad was good but needed more goat cheese for my liking. Our entrees were the Duck breast ($49), Mussels & Clams ($30), Halibut special ($39), and the BSB Double burger w/Truffle fries ($25). No complaints here, except for the truffle fries. They were over fried and crunchy. I like a softer fry to bite into. I left a majority of the fries uneaten. These "truffle" fries didn't taste any different than regular fries, so I don't understand the truffle part of it. For dessert, we opted for the Chocolate Mousse ($13), and the Vanilla Panna Cotta ($13). The chocolate mousse was served in a small brandy snifter...the ratio of mousse to whipping cream was ridiculous. If you're going to advertise a chocolate mousse, the snifter should be filled 3/4 full with 1/4 whipped cream topping, not the other way around. This was my first panna cotta, and the portion was more equitable than the mousse. I didn't taste any vanilla, but it was okay. Service was slow due to the fact that our server was responsible for our whole room. Not her fault. Pluses: there is a dedicated parking lot for patrons. In the morning, the restaurant becomes Stacks for breakfast fare! Will I return? Maybe.

    Is this restaurant Kid friendly?

We have seen kids and my son has been going since he was in grade school (now in High School). He'd pick it every now and then for special occasions (birthdays, first or last day of school, etc.)…

Question for management: Are there gluten free options for someone with Celiac Autoimmune Disease?

There are definitely gluten free options, however if yo7 actual have celiac's vs just wheat sensitivity then you will need to ask the restaurant as it's nearly impossible to avoid some slight cross contamination in any kitchen.

It was the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air and made for a really relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has a great vibe overall, especially if you're looking for an outdoor brunch. (Have not been inside) I ordered the steak chilaquiles, and I'd give them a 8.5/10. The flavors were really good, the sauce was delicious, and I liked the addition of the eggs, avocado, and queso. My only complaint was the steak. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well, a bit dry and was tougher than expected, making it difficult to cut. It was still tasty--just not cooked quite the way I was hoping. The mimosas were good too, a great value. Nothing that really stood out as amazing, but definitely nothing bad about them either--they got the job done. What really elevated the experience was the service. Our server Rebecca was attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly quick throughout the meal. They checked in at the right times, answered our questions confidently, and made us feel well taken care of without ever being overbearing. Overall, I'd come back, especially to sit on the patio again. With a more tender steak, this meal would've easily been an 8.5 or 9 out of 10!! :)

That's blatant racism, and it happened while I was a paying customer. Staff did nothing to address it in the moment. Understandably upset and shaken, I had too much to drink afterward. My family came and drove me home safely. Rather than addressing what actually happened -- a customer being racially harassed on their premises -- management's response was to ban me, not the person who harassed me. If a business allows this kind of harassment to go unaddressed and then punishes the target of it for reacting, that's a real problem, not a minor service issue. This is the San Francisco Bay Area. We should expect better than this. Avoid this place if you don't want to find out how they'll treat you when something like this happens to you.

It took about 20-30 minutes for her to come back and take our food order after we placed our initial drink orders with her. Throughout the dinner, her demeanor felt very passive aggressive, and there were several moments where we felt like we were being given attitude despite everyone in our group being polite. My friend asked for extra olives with his martini and she responded with a rude "Really?" while making a face. It was such an unnecessary reaction to a totally simple and normal request. She also recommended that we order family style, which we followed, but the pacing between courses was extremely slow. We waited around 30+ minutes between our pasta and our protein entrees. For a restaurant that specifically recommends family style dining, the courses should be paced more appropriately so the table isn't sitting around waiting for the next round of food. The birthday cake situation was also frustrating. We had given our cake to the hostess when we arrived, but I guess our server was never notified of that. When I asked about a candle, she said she would bring it out with the birthday dessert, but brought out the restaurant's dessert instead. When she realized we had our own cake, she immediately took the bill back and said she needed to add the cake fee. The issue with that was we weren't asking them to cut or plate the cake. We just wanted to sing Happy Birthday, then have it boxed back up. She had assumed we wanted the cake service without actually asking us, and when we clarified, her response was, "Well, that's why I asked earlier," even though she hadn't actually asked us. None of us gave her a hard time or were anything but polite throughout the evening, which made the repeated attitude especially disappointing. The food wasn't terrible and the drinks were great, the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but spending around $900, which included a 20% automatic gratuity, you'd expect the service to match the price point, even though service should always be good regardless. Unfortunately, the poor service really overshadowed what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner for my friend and left all of us with a bad taste in our mouths.

The scallops didn't taste too fresh (likely frozen) and combining them with hummus didn't quite work. The side of bread was practically insulting. $5 for stale table bread was a surprise. Dishes arrived very late; we were nearly forgotten when we tried to order, and then after ordering, we waited 40 minutes between appetizers and the main course. Not because they were cooking it; they just forgot we were there and when they brought out the dishes, the scallops were no longer just-cooked, and the burger had been sitting for a bit. No apology, just an acknowledgment it was late, and no discount (not even on the stale bread). They offered us wine, we said we didn't drink, and they just moved on. I debated a lot about how to review this. It's my personal experience that was disappointing, and I'm glad some reviews are very upbeat. But there's a handful of reviews noting frustrating delays... and that needs to be worked on.

Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. The interior of the restaurant is kind of standard-industrial modern, but nicely so. Oh, and their glassware is super nice.

Unfortunately, I wasn't particularly impressed with what I ordered this time around, but I'd like to come back and try some of their other dishes before forming a final opinion. The Vienna hot dog was $12, but it didn't feel worth the price. The chili and cheese they used made it taste more like something someone could make at home rather than something I'd expect from a restaurant at this price point. The KFC (Korean fried chicken) was decent, but the flavor and texture reminded me almost exactly of Taiwanese popcorn chicken with the basil and with green onions instead. Overall, maybe I may have just ordered the wrong things, so I'll give it another try and explore more of their menu next time.

Went here on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and we ordered: Steak Fries, Bucatini Pasta, Clams, Tomato & Cheese Dip (AMAZING! ) In fact, every single dish was completely on point. The vibe inside is super fun--there's a tiny bar lit up by a spinning disco ball. However, the ordering process is pretty disconnected and chaotic. You normally have to order food and drinks at the bar, but because the entire interior was so packed with people waiting for tables and pre-dinner drinks, the host kindly offered to help us at our table. The catch? She could only take our food order and not the drinks. It's definitely a bit disorderly, but the incredible food almost makes up for the logistical mess!

The bar was pretty busy with groups at all the tables so we had to sit outside on stools at a fold up table. You walk inside to place an order then you get seated at a table. The staff were really nice and gave great recommendations for our group who were beginner wine drinkers. Super cool vibe inside, they even have a disco ball and cute decor. My expectations were already low as I'm not usually into tapas style (aka small portion but expensive and possibly mediocre food) but boy was I wrong. All of the food that we ordered was genuinely so good. I still think about the BUCATINI (tom yum butter, lime, garlic and basil) and would solely come back for that dish. The portion sizes were on the smaller side but it is tapas, we had a group of 8 hungry people so that was on our part lol Overall, would recommend and come back to try some of their other dishes and wine! super cute for date night

First off, great service! Upon arriving the hostess greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. When we told her yes and gave our first name, she immediately said our last name without looking down and seated us. Within moments our server, wish I remembered his name because he was awesome!, also greeted us and introduced himself. He didn't rush us or anything but politely asked if we wanted something to drink other than water. Then he took our order and everything came out in good time. The food was yum with great flavor and the space had a lively scene without it being crowded. So fun to see the double bar that has an opening to the dining room. Everyone was super friendly and wait staff totally professional and helpful. We look forward to come back and to maybe even host a private event since the have a room that can fit about 24 people.

The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The overall ambiance was also enjoyable, making it a nice spot for a dinner out. Unfortunately, the experience took a concerning turn at the end of the meal. Our bill came out to $86.42, and I handed my credit card to the waiter. Within seconds (thanks to my card alerts), I received a notification that $103.92 had been charged. When the waiter returned with the receipt, there was no mention of any discrepancy. After waiting a few minutes to see if it would be addressed, I brought it up myself. The waiter appeared flustered and then claimed he had accidentally charged me for someone else's food. That explanation didn't align with the itemized bill I was given, which made the situation feel questionable. He assured me that it would be corrected and that I should see the adjustment in a few days, which I'll be watching closely. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of transparency and the fact that it wasn't proactively disclosed is what left a bad impression. Being overcharged without explanation -- and having to catch it myself -- is not something I expect when dining out. I'd consider coming back for the food, but I'd definitely be more cautious when it comes to the bill.
